Why can't we draft like it was 1985 anymore?
BillsWatch replied to seq004's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
And not pay the "writer" very much either. -
Fan boards are not representative of average fan - most fans do not spend so much time sniffing individual players jock straps and are far less rabid.

Why can't we draft like it was 1985 anymore?
BillsWatch replied to seq004's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Sometimes you are so wise it shocks me! Oh and it was one person's opinion on what was 9th best draft ever. Considering it is on YouTube probably someone who did not watch football for all of football too. -
Hey it is not Mighty Taco but is free and located throughout most of US. http://www.tacodelmar.com/tdm001_2009a/tax...009_choice.html Tax Day is a week from today if you need any heartburn without Mexican food.

Saw him in college in the early 1980s. Absolutely great show. Him and Dizzy Gillespie are only musical shows (of musicians that people on this board would recognize) I have seen live and Dizzy I got to meet and serve in person.

http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/story/11604470 Wright, as a seventh-round draft pick of Buffalo in 2002, spent portions of the 2002 and 2003 seasons on the Bills' practice squad. He played four seasons with the San Jose Sabercats (2005-08) of the Arena Football League, where Wright caught 292 passes for 3,229 yards and 42 TDs to go with five TDs rushing and 113 kickoff returns for 2,450 yards and four scores. Never showed much in Buffalo but maybe now he has tuned his skills enough to compete for roster spot or at least be camp competition.

The Bills OL From Left To Right
BillsWatch replied to Bill from NYC's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It was NOT the starting lineup for Peters came into camp out of shape and benched. He was also not in the lineup in last two games again. Include all of your facts if you are sooooo concerned about the OL and not just your boy. The line (pun intended) is getting old. -
Eugene Parker (Peters' Agent) Track Record

Thanks. I know that and just read Jackson and missed the first name. -
Bills Draft Party at Orange County, CA Bills Backer?
BillsWatch replied to CJPearl2's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I have attended games there when I was on West Coast Very good food even if it is a little pricey compared to Huntington Beach Wings & Things. -
Then I'd tell you to see a psychiatrist because you were dreaming of SKOOBY.

Technically he can show up as long as he signs a waiver or other agreement with Bills but a player who is refusing to sign the tender, a tender the Bills by NFLPA contract can choose to enforce if they wish to, is unlikely.

http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=4050759 Troy Aikman thinks the Cowboys made the right move by getting rid of Terrell Owens. As for Dallas' decision to drop Owens, Aikman was all for it. "I know others have said they don't believe you can get better by subtraction, but I do," he said. "It's hard to win in this league. It's hard to get the ball to everybody every week. When there's pressure on an organization to make a player happy, that is not how you win football games. ... When you start trying to make decisions to feed one player or two players, that becomes a problem." Just the opinion of a ex-player and broadcaster but it goes two ways - he also is a big Cowboy/Jerry Jones supporter, has advertising endorsements dependent upon good image of Cowboys and knows a number a Cowboy players questioned getting rid of him so it is a bit slanted.

Blockbuster going to declare bankruptcy?
BillsWatch replied to Fezmid's topic in Off the Wall Archives
I had issues with Blockbuster too many times (gift cards expiring before I bought it, videos returned to store and never checked in by staff, refusal to honor previous agreements "call headquarters") to rent any more there. Only thing I use them for is free reward rentals and purchasing of used DVDs. Blockbuster is poorly managed who alienated the best customers; I use kiosk at supermarket by DVDPlay for $1 a rental. -
Some teams give raises when they convert future years to bonus money (Paid more to get money upfront? Sign me up!) but Bills have not been willing to do that just when they add years. Maybe it his agent which is too dumb?
-
It was a lame pun at previous posters comment "It's REAL!" I have been watching when I can but have missed a few. You really can not watch the show without a score card. I like the general concept but they have to wrap up some smaller plot lines before starting new ones.

Just ignore the troll from Florida. He posts inane questions to annoy people until he is booted. There is no way you could be that stupid every day and still remember to breathe. Jackson is under contract - he ought to be insisting NFLPA stop negotiating contracts which require teams to pay on potential (when drafted) not on production. Bills should give every free agent a chance to show what he can do and maybe Bills can find another gem. If they do then Jackson, as much as I like the player, could be #3 in depth chart again.

"We said NO PICTURES, and we meant it!!!"
BillsWatch replied to Lori's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
http://msn.foxsports.com/nfl/story/9421126...-Gisele-wedding Tom Brady and Gisele Bundchen's armed bodyguards opened fire on paparazzi at the couple's nuptials in Costa Rica Saturday, blasting out the windows of a photographer's SUV, and just missing the shaken lensmen, the fotogs claimed in Sunday reports. http://msn.foxsports.com/nfl/story/9414196...gain-Costa-Rica French news agency Agence France-Presse reported that one of its photographers said a bodyguard for Bundchen shot at his car after he refused to give up his camera. Al Dia photographer Rolando Aviles says he was also in the car and has filed a police complaint. Nobody was hurt. Press exaggeration or overreaction by bodyguards? Maybe French press are in season in Costa Rica. -
http://blogs.nbcsports.com/home/archives/2...bites-dust.html Great article! Clubs yammer about team building during this part of the season. With all the emphasis placed on attendance at offseason workouts and starting the year in mental lockstep, it's not a surprise that these moves are made now. Often, these decisions are met with unchecked outrage and prophesies of doom by fanbases and the media. And sometimes, the team shares blame in the need to get rid of the guy. The Cowboys and Broncos both let their situations with T.O. and Cutler get out of hand. But it's never as dire as predicted. The whole - as we've seen over and over again - is greater than the sum of its parts especially in the NFL. Take a bad guy or a pain in the posterior off a team and watch the negligible impact his departure has. Put a good guy on a team - a consensus builder, a player with a track record as a winner and a leader - and watch the results. Exhibit A would be Chad Pennington in Miami last year. I hope Bills made right decision with T.O. but since it is a one year contract it does give me hope. Even more I hope they do the right "Cutler-like" decision with our current pain-in-the-ass Peters and do better with a OT willing to work in offseason.

I used to listen to 'Funky Funk' by John Hines on an old tape recorded from a radio station when I worked in Georgia. I even had an old record "Can't Think of Nothing" even though I had no record player and would ask friends to play it. Today I read a story that when he died he apparently had his feet cut off to fit in coffin without knowledge of his wife: http://apnews.myway.com//article/20090403/D97B5RG80.html http://www.nbcaugusta.com/news/local/42299797.html Strange hearing this story now. It is even stranger since he dropped out of site like a lot of musicians and did not even know he died and I clicked the article without knowing about who the article was about. Even found some of the songs on a website even (Soul Detective) but haven't got them to play yet. I have the week off so I have some time for some reflection.

Who said NYC makes decision on what things are called? NYC is lower Newark. Go make up your own definitions just will not listen to them.

In February his agent Rosenhaus (you know the guy who is completely above board and honest like with Willis) sends out mail saying Burress was available via trade. Giants still had Burress under contract. So unless he had permission tampering charges ought to be brought against the agent. http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/story/11592334/2 After winning days after the shooting, the Giants suspended Burress for the final four weeks of the regular season, fined him and withheld a $1 million portion of his signing bonus that was due in December. Allowed per NFLPA agreement but of course almost every time NFL attempts to enforce it agent files a suit. Once the season ended, Reese said he would welcome Burress back under certain circumstances. This implies it was their decision as contract states whether to keep him or not. Tensions between the player and the team mounted when Burress' agent Drew Rosenhaus sent an e-mail in February saying Burress could be acquired in a trade. This sound like tampering. The Giants were willing to rework Burress' contract so he could earn most of the $30 million in non-guaranteed money left on the $35 million deal that he signed in September. However, they refused to throw in the money that he lost as a result of his suspension. Reasonable since he did not earn that money and would be bad example to future incidents. When Burress refused that deal and a settlement the team offered on the grievance of the signing bonus, the Giants' patience with Burress expired and he was released on Friday. Released meaning he was still under contract coming back to original question - 'Should Rosenhaus be penalized for tampering?' If Rosenhaus got "feelers" from his fax saying another team was interested then that could affect Burress's decision to accept deal.

Thanks. My daughter loves Eagles and her school mascot is the Eagles.

And Jason Peters was a consensus 3rd round pick who was never drafted. You need to stop listening to dumb speculators who really have no idea where most players will be drafted.

Preston "sets the record straight"

Maybe because the fans ARE bad, stupid people? And I am not surprised that a quote in PFT is misquoted. -
Not-really-news Bills News... George Wilson re-signed
BillsWatch replied to Fingon's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I am surprised that George Wilson did not do a Peters (hold his breath until he turned blue) and insist Buffalo trade him to a team which faces Tony Romo twice a year!
