BUFFALO, you are creating a monster!
BillsWatch replied to Glass To The Arson's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
As much as CBS embarrasses itself for being lazy and now including his blog as news? -
Seems reasonable. I rejected people who did not put proper spacing on what they wrote on the application.

The Hall of Fame game is not worth the trouble which it gives teams who are picked to attend. Teams are limited in number of preseason sessions and need to move camp earlier to accommodate results in rookies drafted getting less sessions than they would have without the game.

America's Ten Fastest Dying Cities!
BillsWatch replied to PearlHowardman's topic in Off the Wall Archives
Yes and no - there are cracks in the dikes from which some are trying to divert and once it is diverted once there will be no end to the diversions. The example you mentioned Nevada is not the immediate danger but communities like NYC & Cincinnati which are outside of Great Lakes basin but want to tap into the water. In Wisconsin the western communities are already starting to fight to have access to the water. -
If they were going this route they should have done 1st round on Saturday, 2nd on Sunday, 3rd on Monday, etc going to Friday, Saturday, Sunday, ... if needed to get TV coverage. Yeah lots of people would not watch later rounds but it gave them more news coverage every day while giving them more times for deals, playing the fish (draftees and agents), etc. Starting on a Thursday? Blah. Sounds like a NFL Network thing (Yeah I get it but wouldn't pay extra for it).

It would be funnier if accurate searches were used. Top 4 picks were Colts with BILL Polin and 2005 draft picks, article from April and Boston Patriots* article.

From what I saw JP has no touch for short ball, was poor at reading defenses and is could not react well to biltzes finding hot receiver (same as Bledsoe who he replaced, BTW) but was almost as tough as Bledsoe aside from the cheap hits he took including the one from our own DB. I thought he had good character and aside from whining expressed via agent last year he was a good player for Buffalo. I never went into the bashing mode despite the losses and never went into the player name calling other than the pronoucing of his name as "Loss Man". I think his fanboys made it hard to accept as a QB for quite a number; there were quite a number of those who proclaimed him as next Jim Kelly who spent lots of time defending "him" when they were just defending their over estimate of him. I do NOT think it was a coaching issue. As much as fans like to bash coaches, he had opportunities and he did not make the most of them. Some say they should have played to his strengths but it was an incomplete set which was easily attached by defensive coaches. Perhaps he should have been less of a gym rat and spent more time finding some way to work on his weaknesses. I'll wish him well in UFL but saw nothing to indicate any team was willing to take a change on him as backup despite ESPN article by Tom Friend (Friend of Tom Donahoe?) saying starting in UFL was choice between being a backup in NFL and starter in UFL.

http://www.denverpost.com/broncos/ci_12868958 Interesting. I have heard comments why Shanahan did not get back on coaching bandwagon but this was not one of them. Coaches get fully paid when they are cut but I never heard of "loose lips means lose it" clause. Perhaps we could do same thing on board for Top 10 Bills 'fan" detractors. Anybody got a dollar to split between them?

I bought 2 tickets to the home opener
BillsWatch replied to The Tomcat's topic in Off the Wall Archives
Not even just $58 if you include TicketOvermaster charges. Talk about a monopoly which needs to be broken up. -
The reason for announcement of "All tickets are sold out" is to drive people to get remaining seats even if they are not located where they want or grouped together. It also makes remaining people more willing to swallow "convenience" and "processing" charges when the purchasers know that the event holder is also paying TicketOvermaster money already. They are also hoping some will purchase season tickets since a portion of the seats are held back to first preseason game and reserved for sales to people they talk into purchaseing season tickets instead.

Official Tailgate X ticket exchange thread
BillsWatch replied to Just Jack's topic in TBD Annual Tailgate (TBDAHOT)'s Topics
I need one. I got ok from work too late to ask someone else to buy me a ticket before tickets were sold out. -
UB vs Pitt football pre-sale today & tuesday
BillsWatch replied to PromoTheRobot's topic in Off the Wall Archives
Looked at tickets and could get : ADULT 306 A 7 $34.00 ADULT 104 L 6 $34.00 Not knowing who I'll be sitting with or any of the players takes the edge off. -
I expect I am going. Got time off scheduled for Sat/Sun/Mon and Southwest flight booked ($30/way + taxes/fees/etc). No game ticket yet but that has never stopped me in past. Should have asked someone to get one for me but work always tells me "not sure" until well past ticket getting date last few years.

Did the Southwest.com website crash?
BillsWatch replied to PromoTheRobot's topic in Off the Wall Archives
According to website there are having problems. Appears to have cleared up a bit. I was able to find the $30 deal BWI -> BUF for Sep 20, Oct 11 and Nov 1 games just now leaving on Saturday and returning on Monday. Look for direct flights only. Booked for Sep 20 and Oct 11. http://www.southwest.com/travel_center/routemap_dyn.html Where you flying from? Manchester? The problem is the direct routes suck from many cities and if there isn't a direct flight not much of a deal. If I flew out of IAD (Dulles) it would be almost $300. -
Sounds like you are saying some, fans or media members, are trolls no matter what they claim. If anyone could get away with it, it is the Patriots*. Not because of talent but because Zebras would fail to call the penalties any other team would get for illegal formations.

That is exactly what I was thinking.

Sounds like Fingon would put ketchup on Filet Migon. The piece of crap OS Microsoft produces is the difference. There is no sense purchasing a top of line box and put Microsoft on it. And "almost" is relative. I have Microsoft on my boxes yeah but they are under $500 including Microsoft and all of the crap you have to remove. Only ones I have spent more is on the laptops and in that case you can not get the hardware independently.

http://www.buffalonews.com/opinion/columns...ory/724105.html The football team, after virtually ignoring its offensive line for most of the last decade, drafted a couple of offensive lineman known for their toughness, the sort of thing which pushes the ball over the goal line when it has been moved deep into the opposing red zone. While he might not like the approach the Bills approach but the Bills believed in investing on young players on defense and veterans on OL and spent a lot of money on it. Butler had been a well reviewed tackle for Virginia and served in another position because they signed Walker, a well paid veteran, and they tried to use the best players they had. The article would have included qualifier rather than acting like a drunk douche bag from New York City exaggerating to try to make his point for umpteenth time.

Yahoo! bringing data center to WNY
BillsWatch replied to EndZoneCrew's topic in Off the Wall Archives
There are a lot of differences from 1900 and 2000 period: Gasoline powered vehicles becoming common Electric powergrids Widespread use of air conditioning Government funding of recovery from disasters Government funding of Highway system Government funding of coastline changes Huge water work changes including swamp drainage, reservoirs and water distribution There are areas in south where changes, especially government funding. has made Southern and Western movement possible. Imagine the south and some without air conditioning, water pumped from northern Basically Buffalo lost its advantage partly because the century's changes took away a number of advantages - i.e. natural water access for transportation, cooler weather (easier to add heat and deal with snow than take away heat & humidity and repair from Hurricanes and flooding), etc. Those changes are not going away although shortages of water and oil might help Buffalo somewhat if politicians were not taking natural resources and directing them to other areas. -
Steve McNair found shot to death
BillsWatch replied to Cornerville's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It mentions that she was co-owner with McNair so it sounds completely above board for him. Police were not looking for suspects? They should look first and decide later if it is a murder-suicide. Just because she took only one shot to head does not make it suicide. McNair was a TOUGH QB who played thru injuries and was a leader for that team. Shame what injuries did to him but he could only take that kind of damage so long before it affected his ability to play. -
Hey you IT nerds, the Redskins are hiring...
BillsWatch replied to Just Jack's topic in Off the Wall Archives
Had a recruiter send me a mail saying he could get me an interview. Told me they might not even fill it with one person. I declined preferring stability. They hire and fire people almost as bad as CSC. -

It is pretty simple to use a HEMA electronic filter to screen out dust and such. They will probably build rooms servers underground to take advantage of the natural ambient temperature difference underground and try to use the waste heat to heat other levels above, hot water, etc and use it even to sell. If they use water for cooling they will locate the water storage underground as well. -
My car died... not sure where to take it...
BillsWatch replied to SDS's topic in Off the Wall Archives
Incorrect: 1984 is the cutoff with the usual oddity of car dates - is a 1984 model released in 1983 but 1st bought in 1985 a 1983, 1984 or 1985 car? And me if it was a true 'friend' it would not make a difference to me. Now a so-so 'freind' probably not. -
Having a QB named Willy with Offense Linemen named Wood, Levitre & Rodd (Brandon) would be much too hard for head of front office!
