AVP, like Marv was, is a consensus builder. He gave advice and according to Jim Kelly was a great adviser, student of the game and recognizer of defenses. I am hoping for better play calling but it also will greatly depend upon Eric Studesville being able to advise on where running holes are found. I am a little nervous with no QB coach on the field. The plan is to have Ryan Fitzpatrick relay calls from AVP to Trent Edwards on field but this of course will need to change if Edwards is injured. I think with three relatively young QBs on the roster the Bills need a QB coach as well as an OC.

AP: Players getting 75% of revenue according to NFL
BillsWatch replied to BillsWatch's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Like I said I'd like to see more details about the 75%. It does not appear to be in sync with what we have heard before in past. -

Bills to rent Rhodes, predicts Ross Tucker
BillsWatch replied to Charles Romes's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Editors who edit columns have gone by the wayside with electronic age. Most of it is cut and paste by whomever is doing software for news printer/ This becomes extremely obvious when you see words fused next to each other in paper. The assembler does not even both checking spelling. Newspapers are so different then when I was paid per character for setting classified type and charged for every mistake. And I am sure JW knows the difference between good-natured kidding and some of the garbage throw at him. -
According to clarification post on CBS Sports: http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/story/12166995 According to additional details provided by the NFL, players have received about 75 percent of new revenues generated by the league since 2006 in order to meet requirements of the collective bargaining agreement negotiated that year. That agreement called for the players' share of selected revenues to rise from approximately 55 percent to roughly 60 percent. To get to that percentage, players received 75 cents out of every dollar of additional revenue the NFL attracted, the league says. 75% of selected revenues? What falls within this revenue? Are they talking about net revenues since they are saying in next sentence players' share rose to 60%? In either case this appears to high since if economy goes into a tail spin as it has there is no guarantee all of the projected revenue materializes but signing bonuses are already paid (and terribly difficult to get back even if player holds out, can not uphold agreement because in jail, etc) and salaries for most veterans are already guaranteed past game 1.

The Bills Cut Rhodes to Save Money?.....
BillsWatch replied to VJ91's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Allen Wilson is SPECULATING not reporting. Some need to learn the difference between the two. It is like saying Allen Wilson's may be writing this because he picked him in his fantasy football writing or he may write for Buffalo News because Buffalo News does not pay enough for decent writers. -
Jim Kelly has stated multiple times that he had been offered and was not interested in coaching. He gave the same reason as why he stopped doing broadcasting - he does not have the time for full time coaching / broadcasting and has more important things to do with his time. Bring him in as consultant, maybe, but not coaching.

Walken (Yea Baby) > Schwarzenegger
BillsWatch replied to WellDressed's topic in Off the Wall Archives
Schwarzenegger hasn't been a movie in years but Walken has been quite active so that by that does not mean much especially when $70.5M / movie >> $31.3M By same measure Kirsten Dunst > Sean Connery. Silly list did not differentiate between starring and appearing or adjust box office takes by inflation. Site knows it is silly hence "Premier Pass member can sort this chart by any column header and adjust it for ticket price inflation." option. It is just a list to get people to pay them money. -
I am more surprised that Mace and Bryan keep trying to make it to Bills rather than trying to catch on to another team. 31 teams should be asking them to play for them according to all of the future front office talent evaluators Matt Millens on this board.

Jerry Jones rips revenue sharing
BillsWatch replied to dbringer's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Almost all of the Northern teams revenue share with Southern teams and a few other teams - without all of other teams generating interest there is no way they can sell $1M/minute commercials and $500/seat $uperbowl$. When Jerry Jone$ starts dividing revenue equally for $uperbowl then I'll believe him. -
We didn't even get what we paid for from this post.

How many games will the Bills win?

I say people who word polls to match their opinion have a lack of confidence in their polls. -
You put steps in wrong order - he probably did search for threads on "Cower"

Dan Snyder, owner with a heart of gold
BillsWatch replied to PromoTheRobot's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I do not believe it is illegal. I have run into same thing in other areas as well. I "owned" a timeshare in Hawaii and place decided to try to charge all of the "owners" for renewal of lease whether "owners" were interested in renewing contract or not four years before lease renews. They took away rights to unit and put it as available for those who did not agree to fund extension even if annual "maintenance" charges were paid. Checked and lawyer says they can usually get away with this because the company has no guarantee that it will be paid even if they put a claim into court. He also told me that if you were outside area it was extremely unlikely that any out-of-state judge would honor claim so most they can do is give it to collector and ping credit report for 7 years. The $kins appear to be able to enforce this because they are willing to send lawyer$ to local courts but even getting a judgment does not guarantee they will get money nor lawyer fee$. Legality like guilt is not a black and white issue in financial areas. -
According to Forbes Bills value increased 3%
BillsWatch replied to Beerball's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
According to Forbes as cited by ESPN: Eight teams saw their value decline in this year's rankings, and six had no change. http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=4441193 Bills are doing pretty well if they increased in value in this market. I am really surprised that Jacksonville was not listed as a team which FORBES determined dropped in value. -
The characters are licensed from Marvel Entertainment. General Electric Co.'s Universal Studios has an attraction called Marvel Super Hero Island in Orlando, Fla., that will stay in existence as long as Universal wants to keep it there and follows the contract terms, Universal said. http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20090831/ap_on_...l_entertainment

Eureka is having an episode where a great part of it is recording and replaying of memories. Aside from problem of point of view (you do not see yourself in memory unless you are looking in mirror) I hate memory issues for it is just a method for production companies to reuse film and save production costs. In this case most of the memories are are from sheriff who did not use memory upload thing which is a tremendous plot hole.

Saturday night before the Home Opener?
BillsWatch replied to blzrul's topic in TBD Annual Tailgate (TBDAHOT)'s Topics
We usually meet at Danny's which is just south of Hammer's Lot and stadium http://members.cox.net/billswatch/Hammer/index.html Usually we (different people) wander in between 6 pm and 9 pm. We have reserves a spot in past but it was too hard for some to find us (drinking before going to Danny's?) so we generally just find a spot now. You will recognize a number of photos from wall (Jack, Jay, Rockpile, etc) Considering many people will be getting up at dawn to tailgate despite 4 PM game it probably won't go too late. No idea about twitter. I have a cell for emergencies which is usually not on and no text thing. I am very Stone Ages that way. -
Dallas WR Roy Williams hurt in practice.
BillsWatch replied to Tipster19's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Article is laughable as always. Sometimes Florio is funnier than The Onion unintentionally. Williams told other players it was broken but Cowpokes said otherwise. Maybe this is one of those "broken" bones which are really hairline bone injuries. Emmitt Smith had a lot of those and would come back in game after being told that he would be out for rest of game. Maybe Bills can trade TO for two first round picks which we will use on DBs. -
You get what you pay for and Rochester D&C pay among lowest percentile in industry. Rochester D&C owner believes a stable writing staff is a plus. He also obviously doesn't believe in paying top dollar to attract proven high-quality editors and columnists. Bob Mathews, Leo Roth and such probably are near the bottom of the NFL writers pay scale in their positions, and it often shows on Sunday afternoons. It's not their fault. You don't always get what you pay for in the writers in terms of staff, but you do with editors and columnists.

The question is whether NFL Hall of Fame will count time in UFL against players like Rice. He retired and now while he has not un-retired from NFL is playing so will it need additional post-year before he can qualify?
-
I heard most if this but never heard about this part before. As Steadman recalls, the NFL told Hunt in a secret meeting it was willing to take in only Kansas City, New York and Houston, and possibly Buffalo. Great story.

Anyone been to Colonial Williamsburg?

I knew that but it is a family vacation not a personal one. Of course if there is a Marv Levy exhibit there and we happen to wander by when there are other historical things .... -
http://news.yahoo.com/s/time/20090826/hl_time/08599191835200 Researchers at the Cleveland Clinic report that they may have found a way to identify those most at risk of developing the neurological disorder long before symptoms develop - simply by asking them whether they recognize celebrities such as Britney Spears and Johnny Carson. I know who Johnny was (I got paid for a joke I sent in by Carson Productions during college) but who is this Brittany Spears and is not knowing who she is mean I am doomed to have Alzheimer's?
