Nix is proving pretty through at looking entire organization, even the towel boys, and showing pretty good judgment, turning down those who would be gawking and working.

All this assembling a staff stuff, isn't it logical
BillsWatch replied to Like A Mofo's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It is a requirement to have an index box filled with potential coaches. The candidate with biggest box wins unless the competitor has a trump card of connection to owner. -
TO did what he came to do - hype himself without being a distraction to the team. His stats may hurt him a little in future contracts but could be handled by a clause in contract giving him bonuses when he reached certain levels. He proved he could be a good teammate and soldier even when things were not going well which will help in finding a team to sign him. Worst part of Buffalo effort will be if a team expects him to get on sync during offseason, especially important for teams changing coaches or systems, and they consider his presseason effort not enough.

Will Josh Reed's career mirror Andre's?

I am not sure how much of a mortgage for a hut made of dung and straw is worth but you are right. I did not judge the intelligence of so many people so low. -
Will Josh Reed's career mirror Andre's?
BillsWatch replied to BillsWatch's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
A lot of asinine replies who did not read the whole post. I was talking about his career path going to free agency after an injury and having to go back to Bills because there was no good offer on the table. I did not talk about stats at all. There is more to careers than playing Madden. Andre talked a lot about making money in free agency and then needed to go back to Buffalo due to injury and Personal attack comments are pretty pathetic when are twisting it say nothing regarding original post. May you be forced into a threesome with Tom Brady and Bill Belichick. -
THis is from espn.com......i like what Nix is about

Disagree with TG on this, Jason Peters, London Fletcher, Nate Clements and Antoine Winfield were lost because they wanted to be paid as superstars. Antoine Winfield in fact was paid in a front loaded contact almost no other team could afford. He also left out a number of free agents who got bundles and did not pan out for new team like Jonas Jennings. Pat Williams was lost because they had the salary cap room for one player and choose an offense not a defense player. Fletcher if he played for Bills now would be called too small and making tackles 10 yards off line of scrimmage and I have heard same thing spoken to him by Red$kin fans. Bills have paid good money to extend players, players they thought had more potential and worth the contract, but the coaching staff has not been able to get the most out of them. Synergy was a goal of the front office but synergy works only if implementation works otherwise synergy takes down all. That Sullivan and Florio do not agree is a good sign. But like many others if things turn around they will do a flip flop and point to the articles which showed they support the move if you cover up half the words and squint with one eye. -
In an article it talks about possibility that this may be Josh Reed's last season in Buffalo. http://www.buffalonews.com/452/story/910070.html Andre Reed was reliable and dynamic WR, willing to go over the middle to make tough catches, underestimated by some and injured when he went into free agency. He caught balls from one of the best QBs in league at the time and probably the best backup QB in league at the time. Josh Reed is a reliable WR and great blocker, willing to go over the middle to make tough catches, underestimated by some and injured when he went into free agency. He caught balls from a collection of QBs bad mouthed by many especially their own fans. When Andre Reed went into free agency there was not a lot of interest partly because he was injured and partly because his stats were attributed to the skill of his QB. Josh Reed is going into free agency injured but not many of his catches will be attributed to the skill of his QBs. In many ways their careers have been parallel. Neither are speed receivers like Evan and Parish were but made the tough catches. Andre had limited interest and went to Buffalo after talking about making his big payday in free agency. Josh has not talked about looking elsewhere but may need to look elsewhere to keep playing since Buffalo has heavily invested already in other WRs.

playing NOT to win is legal.....
BillsWatch replied to papazoid's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Betting on sports is illegal in most states. This sounds like MJ users complaining about bongs being prohibited. But stupidity is not. -
Chuck Lester -- Does He Survive Yet Another Regime Change?
BillsWatch replied to ChasBB's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Lester is known around the league as someone who knows how to break down film. Like QBs breaking down defenses it is a skill and no reason for next coach to not keep him unless (1) he has someone to replace him and (2) his salary is preventing him from hiring another coach he wants (zero sum game). -

Russia wants to save Earth from Asteroid
BillsWatch replied to /dev/null's topic in Off the Wall Archives
I think what Russia wants is others to invest into their space program. The comment about it seals it for me: Anatoly Perminov told the Russian radio station Golos Rossii: "People's lives are at stake. We should pay several hundred million dollars and build a system that would allow us to prevent a collision, rather than sit and wait for it to happen and kill hundreds of thousands of people." If it happens it will not kill hundreds of thousands, it would kill hundreds of millions if not less but it is such an extremely long shot Bills and Lions have better chance of meeting in Superbowl before then. -
Big Mike on IR by the Skins
BillsWatch replied to \GoBillsInDallas/'s topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Exactly. Some teams out of playoffs are treating remainder of season like it was preseason. -
Aside separating slanted opinions from facts..... On 8/21 Aaron Maybin signs contract after holding out of all of training camp and most of preseason. On 9/4 - OC Turk Schonert was fired and replaced by QB coach Alex Van Pelt. On 11/15: Jauron pulls starting QB Trent Edwards, who will not see field until Week 15. Ryan Fitzpatrick becomes the starter. On 12/15 QB Trent Edwards is inserted in game, sacked twice and injured.

Supposed big news announcement at 9pm
BillsWatch replied to PromoTheRobot's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I agree completely with the very intelligent man from NYC. I know you are busy with full time job and the side press work you do but the well is getting very dry in Buffalo. I understand why you would not do it knowing Bills fandom as well as you do with the stupid comments like those who said Ralph's daughter could not be a decent scout because she was a woman. -
Jason Peters is smiling right now
BillsWatch replied to ThreeBillsDrive's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Sounds like someone who invested too much money on Jason Peters jerseys and is trying to justify it or is boy toy of his agent. -
I would not mind Ron Jaworski as GM as long as they hired a strong experienced football front office person as President like Ron Wolfe. There are a lot of people in business with experience who do not want to put in the hours required anymore )as I have heard regarding Ron Wolfe) so this would give Jaworski some additional front office experience when necessary. I doubt it would happen though since Ralph took a chance going outside organization with Donahue and it blew up in his face.
-
Agree completely and they probably could use this as part of their partnership with players to give opportunities for players to learn to coach as well. It would be work out very well if teams would market them but they probably would only do that if they had first rights on players or got compensation like minor league baseball. This is what NFL Europe was supposed to partly be and never seemed to work since many teams only sent scrubs rather than players to be developed.

Name Three Owners Worse Than Old Ralph
BillsWatch replied to San-O's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
First he was part of the team which built the Bills with a lot of others who contributed. Second lots of good employees get fired for misconduct and considering the reported misconduct was regarding the owner's daughter stupid misconduct. No matter what his opinion was he should have kept his mouth civil. If you think Ralph was going to choose Polin over his daughter you are not a father. -
