Poz signs with Jax, 6 years $7.5M/year reported

The phrases "ridiculous offer" and "cheap" do not go together except in minds of anti-fans. Or mentally deficient ones but those may not be exclusive constraints. -
Poz signs with Jax, 6 years $7.5M/year reported

Quote from his agent (typo corrected since ProFootballWeekly has no decent editors): "I have so much respect for the Buffalo organization," Posluszny's agent, Mike McCartney, told the Buffalo News. "They did everything the could to keep him. … But he felt more comfortable in a 4-3 defense. He felt he came into the league playing the Mike in the 4-3. I want to emphasize how much respect I have for Jim Overdorf and the Bills. It was a tough decision." http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/news?slug=pfw-20110726_jaguars_agree_to_six_year_deal_with_ilb_posluszny Bills were out of luck in this case since he wanted to go back to 4-3 defense which he felt more comfort in and probably felt he would have better career in. -
UDFA bonuses are limited this year according to Ross Tucker: END OF ARTICLE http://espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/id/6802711/nfl-football-september-pretty However, one of the new rules in this new CBA -- which I don't really understand, and definitely don't agree with -- is that teams are limited to only doling out $75,000 total for these signing bonuses. Especially this year, with teams allowed to bring in 90 players for training camp, that dollar amount is very limiting. Which means the more UDFA agents they bring in, the smaller the pie. The Bills used to bring in a lot of UDFAs and I am sure signing bonuses were a big reason why many took their shot in Buffalo. I notice he is blaming all of the poor results on lockout - but does not put one word in for NFLPA pushed rule limiting number of practices with pads on during season. The bad news is that we are headed toward the worst season -- or, at a minimum, the worst September -- of on-field NFL action (excluding the replacement players of 1987, of course) most people have ever seen. The reduction of off-season work with many players saying they could get as good job done home with their trainers and many players holding mini-holdouts during training camp has been something the players have been pushing for a long time. Now we will see what happens when we have players who only practice barely part time. Speaking of part time employees the referees used to use training camp as time to visit camps and provide instructions to players regarding rule changes. They will not get much time this year so I suspect penalties will go up and a certain player in Pittsburgh will blame his personal satan Goodell for that.

Will new rules teams will barely need indoor facilities. Teams have trouble tackling now will have a lot more trouble since they will not be able to practice.

Tickets for the home opener/TBD Tailgate XII

Been unemployed since February but will be there unless I find a job which prevents me from going. Put me down for one and I'll have my wife send you a check. -
Most of the players got a paid vacation at a time when many grumble about being in camp and often sit out; some will be getting raises as part of deal. The only ones really hurt were first round picks in top 10 or so who will not be given humongous starting bonuses being paid more than people with many years experience and UDFAs who may not be given time to show what they can do. Someone else who spells it 'laywers' since you get screwed by lawyers.

Corey McIntyre obviously does not understand how the real world works: "It's been horrible," he said. "We haven't been able to go to work or do the things that we normally do. Imagine you worked for a big company and, the next day, you're laid off. Now you can't go to work. http://www.tcpalm.com/news/2011/jul/26/mcintyre-ready-to-go-back-to-work/ Being laid off happens quite often in real world (happened to me in February) but you do not get same amount of money despite not needing to work for several months. Be happy that you do not lose your paid vacation.

Carson Palmer will wait until Bengals sign a bunch of players and then 'unretire' forcing Bengals to alter contracts or cut players and then just retire again. Repeat this until they do not have money for him. This is how the superstars control the front offices with new contract - you need to sign to cap so no room to pay big dollar players and no one will enforce making players give back bonuses.

I think he will find some new friends to hunt and fish in Buffalo.

Green Bay crap team? What you talking about Willis?!?

They need to have weight goals so he does not blow up like a balloon with the tremendous amount of food they have available; it was the problem which hurt Mike Williams.

http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/news?slug=pfw-20110724_vikings_growing_concerned_rice_will_leave • Bills seventh-round pick, NT Michael Jasper, who was in the 370-pound range in May, showed off his unique athleticism for a guy his size during a recent workout in Nashville. We hear Jasper played some receiver and ran a full route tree for his former high school teammate, and soon-to-be Bills teammate, QB Levi Brown. WR? Nahhh. They are working on their next TE prospect. I'd be happy if he could pull in a couple of Denney style TDs on special teams.

The Surprising Architecture of Buffalo
BillsWatch replied to Indy Dave's topic in Off the Wall Archives
Beautiful shots. I'd like to know the other city with building by the three great American Architects. I'd love to move back and applied for a job in M&T Banking center data center but I was told today another candidate was selected because I did not have enough experience. Recruiter said had no idea what they meant since I have over 25 years experience most of it related to position; Buffalo is very hard city to compete in. -
Went to my 30th 31st reunion which was held in an old remodeled church turning into coffee house / music hall in downtown buffalo (it was 31st because they could not get organized in time to have it on 30th). Biggest issue I have is so many people who thought we were friends who I barely knew and few of the people who I thought as friends during school. It was a nice place and had a good reception.

Not really impressed with actors they have chosen or filming style. Peter's parents? Odd start of movie story. Too much watching of Harry Potter (which I liked)?

What is TBD's excuse for not replacing them? Too cheap? Bad front office? Terrible scouting department? Unwilling to cut the overhyped veterans due to fans? We have been dealing with this problem for years!

What changes do you want in the CBA?
BillsWatch replied to K-No's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Losing year of eligibility for free agency any time you hold out. Tougher penalties on agents who violate rules on contacting players under contract. -

New collective bargaining agreement
BillsWatch replied to Trader's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Spending to the cap is DUMB since you always have unexpected expenses later in season - you need to replace players who are injured, mid year cuts and replacements, jailed players who have to be replaced, negotiations mid-season, 24 inches of snow which requires 24 hour crews for multiple days to cleanup, etc. -
Good news for Bills, Bad news for Dareus
BillsWatch replied to Kingfish's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
All that will happen is rookies will sign and those who produce will have agent threatening to hold out like Jason Peters, not show up for camp, etc unless teams renegotiate after seeing rookie produce on field while those who were not on field still get outrageous money. Would not be surprised to see rookies signing with agent who has players already under contract so agent can say team has to negotiate w/both like happened w/Ted Washington and Pat Williams. They will never honor their part of contract - who was last player to be penalized NET for holding out? -
Giants camp pulling out of Albany

And perfect reason not to ever have training camp in NY for NJ's teams. Maybe they will change name to NJJ and NJG so NY's attorney general will have even less idiotic leverage. -
Joe's Crab Shack in Amherst giving away free crab

Joe's Crab Shack, a national seafood chain, opens its first Western New York store at 11 a.m. Monday, July 11. http://blogs.buffalonews.com/hungryformore/2011/07/new-amherst-seafood-restaurant-giving-away-free-crab.html -

Good speech but I doubt it will make much a difference with most of the rookies.
