QBR does not take account of a lot of things - avoiding sacks, QB's ability to fake, blocking, etc. Like every rating system is very crude and is more for those who are big on that.

I disagree that Spiller is a threat to take it to the house on any touch when defenses are stacked against him - he is a threat to lose yards on every touch in those cases. He is not a power runner and the Bills need an alternate; perhaps Choice is not that but he ran well the time he needed to be primary RB when Spiller and FJ were both banged up.

Because averages do not make a difference on 3rd & 1. Averages include running the ball after a penalty on 1st and 20 and defense is lined up to prevent the long pass. Lots of RBs get yards when defenses are in prevent mode. On short yardage gains it is whether your offense can impose its will on defense not whether you get lots of yards by clever blocking screens and creating space which not effective when defense is clamping down to prevent short runs.

Yes I know he got a contract modified this year. The new contract he needs is to be a DB coach for Bills. 'Retire' and Bills will still retain rights. Let him recover from surgery/therapy as a coach for his body is telling him that it needs more time. In a year or two he can attempt a comeback if he still thinks he has it in him but trying to come back and play next year is a plan for failure.

Spiller is terrible on short yardage calls which is why we are having issues with FJ out in red zone and in short yardage situations. We are one of the few teams with a designated blocking FB (unlike Larry Centers who was a receiving FB) so why isn't he used more and more effectively is my concern. Oh and usually great game day post by Bill from NYC.

Some of you know of my dog King who as a youngster jumped fences and need to be Lojacked (chipped) so we could recover him. Last night he threw up two twice and then went to his area. Later on I found him laying down and not moving even when I talked to him so i thought he had a stroke. My family took him to emergency vet clinic and was told he was extremely anemic from internal bleeding and had a large mass inside him most likely cancer and prognosis was not good at all even with treatment. We were also told he was in a lot of pain. He had not made a sound during ordeal and just kept looking at us with his big eyes. We reviewed treatment options and none would help him much nor give him much chance of survival. Vet told me if her 11 year old lab had same symptoms she would put it to sleep. After much thought and consideration we had our dog put to sleep then euthanized. This is second dog this has happened to us with (2 of 2). I was told it is very common issue with dogs at this age but it does not make it easier. I know we gave him a lot of years since adopting him from stray save organization but it does not make it easier. Goodbye my friend.
