  1. Maybe Jimbo ought to reconsider retirement. He can be first NFL QB with a Hall of Fame ring.
  2. Bengals wide receiver Chris Henry surrendered to police late Wednesday night after being accused of punching an 18-year-old man in the face and breaking his car window with a beer bottle. He probably hit him with a beer bottle and punched the window. They have had all types of problems with WRs - maybe he is trying to fit in not being in camp.
  3. Perhaps Buffaloed is too young or too senile to read the articles?
  4. You are the one who sounds like a B word in search of a dick who does not know much about preseason football. The Bills hold one Kids Day game a year during preseason and it sells out almost every time because of the low prices for kids. Now by having on a weekday parents have to stay up late so kids can attend. It will also draw fans from UB.
  5. First day picks are not what they used to be. Third round picks are now taken on 2nd day.
  6. Looks like Vic Carucci saw same thing I saw. http://www.nfl.com/news/story?id=09000d5d8...mp;confirm=true From all that I can gather, a strong contingent of offensive-minded coaches convinced their team owners who voted that providing the same technology for the defense that the offense has used since 1994, through the coach-to-quarterback system, would not be good for their respective teams. It’s hardly a coincidence that all of the “no” votes came from teams led by coaches with offensive backgrounds: Green Bay (Mike McCarthy), Oakland (Lane Kiffin), Philadelphia (Andy Reid), St. Louis (Scott Linehan), Seattle (Mike Holmgren), Tampa Bay (Jon Gruden), and Washington (Jim Zorn).
  7. http://www.nfl.com/news/story?id=09000d5d8...mp;confirm=true Re-seeding review Just spoke with one club executive who, after emerging from the final meeting of the day, told me that the playoff re-seeding proposal would be put to a vote on Wednesday morning ... and would be voted down. No surprise there. Most clubs are simply uncomfortable with the idea of a division champion not being at home for a playoff game because a wild-card team has a better record, which would have been the case under the new format. There has been considerable debate on the subject, but even the idea that teams would have greater incentive to play starters in the final week or two of the regular season, even after clinching the division, was not enough to sway opponents of the proposal. The same executive told me that other rules proposals -- including elimination of the force-out rule, elimination of the 5-yard facemask penalty, and expansion of instant replay to include field goals -– would pass on Wednesday. The proposal regulating hair length so that it doesn’t cover the nameplate or numbers on the back or sleeves of the jersey has been tabled for future consideration. Vic Carucci has a better record on telling ahead of time what NFL is going to do than most reporters.
  8. http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2008/foot...s.ap/index.html The Redskins, who have the league's largest stadium, FedEx Field, led in regular-season home paid attendance for the eighth consecutive season. The Redskins drew 711,471, an NFL mark. Three other teams topped 600,000 paid home attendance: New York Giants (629,391), Kansas City Chiefs (622,541) New York Jets (616,756) Remember when Bills topped 80,000 a year and large stadiums were called by sports writers as out-of-date? What are Washington, New York and Dallas doing/done? Creating huge stadiums racking in advertising, parking, seating licenses and seats.
  9. http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=3323895 The Kansas City Chiefs' proposal calling for all players to tuck or cut long hair so it doesn't hang below the nameplate on their uniform was tabled until the next NFL owners meeting in May. "We had a pretty good feeling it was going to get tabled," Chiefs coach Herm Edwards said at the NFL owners meetings. "We have to take it to the union to consider. That's OK. I think as long as the players know they can discuss it. Basically what we're looking at is a discussion. In our opinion, it's a violation of the dress code." Figures even something as simple as this they need to talk to union. No wonder they are in such a mess with salary cap.
  10. Earth being 6000 years old started as a April Fool's which the fools never let go us to point people forgot it was a retarded joke.
  11. Only a retard would post false information.
  12. Different pick - may not want to give up that pick. Depends on who is available at that pick.
  13. Most if not all of them are offense-minded coaches.
  14. They were considered gains but not as much as the Bills loss. If we had signed neither player we may have gotten a higher pick hence why I provided the relative contracts.
  15. Too many even for a poll. More than enough to fill a roster full of cuts.
  16. Not surpised about comp picks other than NFL being fair: Losses: Nate Clements 8 yr, $80 million London Fletcher 5 yr, $25 million Andre Davis 4 yr, $16 million Mike Gandy 3 yr, $14 million Gains: Derrick Dockery 7 yr, $49 million Langston Walker 5 yr, $25 million Jason Whittle 1 yr, $.72 million $40,000 SB. Josh Scobey 1 yr, $??????? Signed 5/3; released 9/25, re-signed with Seahawks Compare the dollars, the years, and that Scobey was let go early and re-signed old team
  17. You can not trade the pick per say but you can agree to do a sign and trade.
  18. Leonard under went hip surgery and that may have been why Bills did not sign him to a ERA contract when they think they can sign him later if healthy at a lower price. Not saying I'd agree but Bills have shown that they will not necessarily re-sign players undergoing surgery in off-season. Increasing tender numbers from new CBA will result in more 2nd and 3rd year UDFAs being cut.
  19. Reed played well last year and is not on hot seed other than trying to stay on roster if Bills draft another WR and he is getting squeezed because front office thinks they are spending too much on WRs.
  20. I do not think it is that simple. There are a number of writers who vote for Hall of Fame who remember the whiney Reed who also made some negative comments about the sports writers who are voting for Hall of Fame. Writers have "Elephant-type" memory for these type of comments and no listing of facts and comparisions will change their mind. He will get in when he has "paid the penalty" for the remarks and no earlier. I did not think he deserved 1st round Hall of Fame vote and even last year he didn't but neither did any of the other WRs either. Too many other football players deserved entry.
  21. http://www.usatoday.com/sports/football/nf...gs-primer_N.htm In past 20 years, the NFL has benefited tremendously as the only major sports league without a work stoppage. Now would not be the time, especially considering the debt load some owners are carrying with new stadiums. Sports Business Journal recently reported that the NFL carries a combined $9 billion in debt — more than any other league, but economically palatable given the cash flow. Stop playing the games, though, and it's a different story. And both sides stand to suffer tremendous losses. I knew it was high especially with all of the owners who borrowed to buy teams but this seems too high especially with all the money blackmailed out of communities. Perhaps they are counting the future guaranteed salaries and bonuses?
  22. http://www.profootballweekly.com/PFW/NFLDr...jackson2301.htm Although Jackson’s dizzying speed has scouts gushing, his diminutive size has some wondering whether he can hold up as an every-down receiver. Jackson checked in at the Combine at 5-foot-9 and a wafer-thin 169 pounds. He is also buddies with Marshawn Lynch: Hanging with elite football players is nothing new to Jackson. Brother Byron, Bills RB Marshawn Lynch and Browns OLB Willie McGinest are among his trusted confidants.
  23. http://www.profootballweekly.com/PFW/The+W...+It/default.htm Buffalo March 26, 2008 Trade for Losman not expected to be completed before draft So far, there's a serious lack of suitors that have come knocking on the Bills' door inquiring about acquiring disgruntled QB J.P. Losman. Losman has asked for a trade following his demotion behind starter Trent Edwards, a request that the Bills would be happy to oblige should a reasonable offer come their way. Not surprisingly, Losman has been a no-show at "voluntary" workouts in Orchard Park, and it's unlikely he'll show up considering that he can't be fined for not attending the sessions. That being said, the Bills continue to harbor the belief that they'll work out an deal for the quarterback. We hear that it's highly unlikely there will be any action until after the draft. Whichever teams come out of the late April selection meeting without a quality passer will go a long way in determining who will have interest in the former first-round pick. Looks like PFW is misinformed on this. Usually they are more reliable about this or maybe this was written before he showed up for voluntary workouts.
