Sarah Palin Background Check
Gene Frenkle replied to BillsNYC's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
Well, let me just say that they did a bang-up job of vetting her. -
Ever wonder what these pundits REALLY think?

Is it even possible for that to be meant in a good way? -

The Dems do not seem to be as good at getting elected, but the past 8 years should tell you that this has very little to do with running a successful administration. Playing on the morals of the Baptist Christians in order to get them to vote against their own economic interests (twice) is not something to brag about unless your just in it for the sport. Karl Rove is a politicking genius, but that doesn't mean GWB was anything more than the crappiest president we've seen in my lifetime. But you're right, the ability to run good campaigns is really the most important thing - something to be quite proud of. Really, we're just suffering the consequences of our own collective stupidity.

All you really need to do is read the comments of those who take their words as gospel. That alone should be enough to keep any rational person away from the partisan evil that these idiots regularly spew. Not that I would want to single anyone out.

Kindly remove your head and loofah from Bill O'Reilly's ass and share with us your interpretation of the quotes in this thread (from people who actually "matter") regarding Katrina and 911. Your use of is not only ridiculous, but also quite telling and you may as well be wearing a jersey.

As non-PC as it sounds, uh...yes, exactly.

Na, your comments are usually about as non home-team as it gets around here. If God gave us beer, I give him many thanks, I just don't buy that he gives two ***** about our weather patterns. Since the very definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over while expecting different results, I unfortunately see little hope for people who live near Hurricane Alley or the Gulf Coast and are not prepared to get blasted every couple of years. Personally, I prefer the occasional blizzard or ice storm every decade or so. Plus, this way I get to keep my Bills season tickets.

Look at you all getting bent out of shape over something some liberal film maker said, treating it like lockerroom material before a big game - how pathetic! If there actually is a God who cares at all about what happens in this country or even on this planet, he certainly doesn't seem to be a big fan of the South or Midwest. That always struck me as rather ironic - the insistance of those who are to be saved that God is on their side in the face of hurricanes, floods and tornadoes right where they live year after year after year. As demonstrated earlier in this thread, there was no shortage of comments from the right about wicked New Orleans and NYC being punished during Katrina and 911. Hopefully the government response is better this time if things get bad again.

I've never really given it much thought, but I'd guess not significantly more than anyone else. We're only talking about a difference of a few degrees here and there to the best of my (limited) knowledge about the subject. The impact on people doesn't sound so bad. It's the melting of the arctic ice, raising of sea levels, disruption of the ocean currents, destruction of coral reefs and sea life, displacement of large portions of the world's population, etc... Probably not so much that people are going to be dying of heat stroke. But I don't really know. That's why I choose to trust the opinion of 90+% of the worlds climate scientists who say it is so. I was really only commenting on your clinging to the idea that human beings are not causing these things to happen. -

Global Warming and Evolution are both BS. I mean, how much weight does a scientific consensus hold anyway? -
As many here are so fond of saying... Fixed

Do deep thoughts make you uncomfortable? It's both amusing and fitting that the best you can do is to reference a TV show. -

This has everything to do with the extreme hypocrisy our fellow Bills fan's comments regarding Michelle Obama. You will not find a stauncher defender of GWB on these boards, a fact that said poster is likely quite proud of. Yet the very criticism that he is directing at the candidate's WIFE (and much worse) could have easily been leveled at GWB over the past eight years. Way to take a stand now! The irony and contradiction are simply incredible and speak volumes about the poster's sole desire to blindly root for his favorite team. This type of loyalty is a good quality in an NFL fan, but doesn't translate well to politics, at least not in a good way. OK, it's time to defend your friend now. I'm bracing myself for the onslaught. -

Jealousy sucks, though I think you've hit most of the talking points in this thread and I'd like to congratulate you for that. Keep up the good work and we may get Old Man McCain in the white house yet! Incidentally, after nearly eight years of our 'underprivileged', hard-knock-life Prez (who fought his way up from the gutter of course), the best you can do is to question the supposed pampered life of the Democratic candidate's wife??? Seriously? You know W also went to an Ivy League school, right? But he's the salt of the earth of course. Do you even think before you latch on to every word that comes out of Rush Limbaugh's pill-popping mouth? Original ideas and critical thought are both good things. -

I can't get rid of this vivid image of you frantically hitting F5 waiting for your next opportunity at a witty reply. It may be time for a break from the message boards. Maybe you could try crab fishing - I hear it's really safe.
