Guaranteed to start controversy
Gene Frenkle replied to YellowLinesandArmadillos's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
Yes, that same one, but Dems are all about the government running things, right? It would have been nice if the then-empowered "party of small government" had not sought to use circumstance force so much government down our throats. Anyone propping up Joe Wilson for his unprecedented lack of restraint and respect for the office of POTUS is a jackass. -
Guaranteed to start controversy

This misplaced George Orwell reference was brought to you by the party who gave us the Patriot Act. Had we not fought to break ties with England during the American Revolution, Joe Wilson's act would just be standard Parliamentary procedure. Yet the rednecks and low information voters consider him to be a patriot. It's the equivalent of a student getting rewarded for being disruptive in class. Palin/Wilson 2012! -
It's gonna take more than that.

Are you a ''terrorist''?

That's one way, probably the most accurate. My gym has a hand-held device that can measure it by "send[ing] a weak electrical current through your body that can accurately measure your percentage of body fat". http://oceania.digitalmedianet.com/article...le.jsp?id=35183 -
Awesome. It was a terrible day I will never forget.

BMI is a rather meaningless calculation, the 'QB Rating' of fatassedness. Body fat percentage is a better indicator. -
Rule #1: Make sure the microphone is off

From a glass-half-full perspective, at least the Republican in question is cheating with a women this time. -

Best. Avatar. Ever. Put the !@#$ing OC in the basket! -
I'll try to read and respond to your post tomorrow, as it seems you spent some time on it. I just got home and am pretty drunk right now. I'm certainly not in any condition for redemption or re-education but even though I haven't processed your arguments, I at least appreciate the volume of your effort. Not surprisingly I feel like I'm in perfect condition for a Bills home game and I know I'm drunk when I feel compelled to include GO BILLS in a PPP post - so... GO BILLS!!!

Dude loses finger in protest of Health Care reform
Gene Frenkle replied to The Poojer's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
I didn't realize you guys were so tight. You're right - if Jesus was anything he was dis-compassionate and intolerant. He certainly didn't take care of the sick or anything stupid like that. Wait, on second thought, I'd have to say that I'm very likely a more moral person than you seem to be. I love and accept all people just like your lord and savior did and I think we should help the sick, regardless of their ability to pay. I don't try to impose my belief system on anyone else and I'm a relatively (especially here) unselfish person. I certainly don't go around gloating about how I think other people will end up burning in hell for all of eternity. To each his own I guess. Your self-righteous pious claims don't bother me. You're lucky because heaven, hell and the rest of that bullschitt doesn't actually exist. So keep doing your thing and believing your fairy tales and enjoy your intolerance while you wait for the Rapture. You call yourself a Christian and it is absurd. -
For some reason that makes me want to put on a cowboy hat and drop my nuts on somebody's nose.

As long as you're focusing on the important things, nothing's gonna slip by you. You don't really have to tell me anything more about why you watch Hannity. I feel like I have a very good idea of what you're about and why, so thanks for all the input.

It's over the top because there are no signs that he behaved inappropriately, just that he believed inappropriately, whatever the hell that means. It's somewhat funny that you want more control in your life and at the same time want to crucify this guy for...believing? Now it's entirely possible that he spent inappropriately, embezzled or whatever, but until actual evidence surfaces he hasn't really done anything wrong - no matter what you or I might think about his beliefs. As far as the rest of it, I don't disagree with very much. I'll split from your thinking of course and say that we should help people through government because it is a fairer way to share the burden of the political and social system we thrive in, proportionate to the extent that we thrive. I guess you have more faith in the altruistic nature of people than I do.

Accounted for by who? I haven't heard anything about shady dealings with stimulus money. It wouldn't surprise me, but are you talking about a specific story? As far as the rest, any largish group of people is pretty much the same type of people. People put into similar situations will react similarly. Smaller government doesn't change that. I certainly wouldn't agree with Kelly's statement, but I've never seen him say that.

Never would have guessed it. I didn't think it possible, but my opinion of you just increased by a factor of ten. To celebrate your coming out, let me compliment you with a fine platitude that Hannity himself would be proud of: You, sir, are a FINE AMERICAN living in the greatest, bestest country god has ever given man on the face of the Earth. God bless you!

Fair enough, I don't think the guy should be in there because he is obviously prone to believing garbage theories. In reality, I don't think he broke any laws, so I'm sure this could go either way. I would personally like to see him gone. I'm sure you're serious, but that's a bit over the top. Playing devil's advocate for a moment, which law is it that states a person cannot belong to the communist party in the United States and hold public office? Which laws prohibit a person from believing what they want? Honestly, coming from someone I assume was a Bush II supporter, this argument sounds rather hollow. You're really out for blood on this one!

Olbermann is often unwatchable now, but he was awsome on Sports Center. He and Patrick represent the pinnacle of ESPN.
