I don't read...I just look. Hey...are those the Jills?

Good for Congress.... Libby Dole brought up the Level 3 asset question, and all the braintrust could do was dance around it and say they needed to regulate them better. Then there was some good follow up. They locked on to the big problem. At least Congress isn't as clueless as it seemed about 72 hours ago.

understood...and I like the makeup of this team as well. The best time to prepare for bad times is when times are good. Brown may not want to come back. I liked Marty Booker and thought he would be a nice fit here, but he went to Chicago for decent cash. I think we are set at almost every other position except Corner. McGee has a history of hurting his shoulder on tackles and we can lose him for an extended period at almost any time. Yobouty has played well in a run support CB role so far, but I would be scared dootyless if he had to start, sort of like I would if Hardy/Parrish had to start and play #2+3. There aren't many problems though, and that's why a move like this is a luxury move...and one of insurance.

Oh...the collapse of the financial system is so yesterday's news. I've moved on to getting the masses riled on the football board by suggesting we could use a crafty vet at WR. I guess I sort of enjoy the mocking at this point. I wish I could quantify in direct proportion the amount of mocking to the void in the mocker's soul that causes one to mock. I am sure there are plenty of people that quietly lurk in the background that have at least gone "Hmmmnn???...." enough times now to be prepared for what is happening. I'll take the "pain" in that case.

Yeah...that's what it used to be known as prior to the year 2000 when it was changed to "ROTFL cuz U got so PNWED cuz Hardy n 'Scoe R da Bomb" or "I have to insert repetitive "witty" comment here to make up for my 3 1/2" member and lack of self-understanding or meaning".

I'm done for now......maybe in week 10 I'll bring this back up. Until then....I'll enjoy talking sports with myself.
-
Dibs....he isn't going to start. You don't bring in a guy that can challange these guys....you bring in an enhancer. That is the point. It's like bringing in Gary Roberts for the playoffs. You don't expect 40 goals from him....it is about attitude, experience, grit and smart play. A $1.5 million tweak can be the difference between 10-6 and starting @ San Diego, or 11-5 and starting home against Denver.

I would let my 7 year old play Roscoe and Hardy in a game of Trivial Pursuit for $1,000 cash
-
Ok....you're going to tell me....the guy that has said from game #2 of last year that Edwards is the starter on this team for the next decade, and that Josh Reed will not only be on the team this year, but the leading receiver...and that Freddy Jackson would not only make the team out of training camp last year, but had the talent to be a starter.....that I am being rediculous? SDS...I am willing to pay the $500 to recover the lost data from the old hard drive so I can save myself broken fingernails typing the same crap to the same people all of the time. Great! That's what 20 people told me when I made those statements as well. Some of the same clowns that are posting is this thread telling me we don't need a WR when 4 months ago it was a screaming need!! By the way....Hardy is on pace for 12 catches for 60 yards. Roscoe is nursing a chronic knee injury. Lee Evans Prozac is working so far, YET, he did loaf it on the INT again this week and didn't fight for another ball he should have had. This team is good. But the 3 day attention span of everyone is going to miss many important factors.

Thank you for a valid line of questioning! There aren't many names outside that can jump right in. This is the guy I would BEG to come here... Beat the Patriots anyone? I don't argue against the Bills having a good and versitile group at WR. The key point is, 3 weeks ago most of this city would be excited to see us go into the last week of the season at 9-6 with a chance to get into the playoffs. Now the way things look, we have a REAL chance of winning the division and an outside chance at a bye. If we stand pat and HOPE everyone continues to develop....we need some luck. If we go get a guy that can add to the team in a manner that many others can't, we are being aggressive and putting it in our hands. I'm sure Troy's agent floated this article just for a case like this. Let the guy come in for $1.5 mil....pick his brain, get an advantage of New England, let him babysit Hardy and teach him and Roscoe a thing or two, let him play some on special teams, and let him be another coach on the sidelines for the 80% of the plays he will be there. To me it is a no-brainer. You don't need the guy for his physical skills....you need him for his mental skills.

Like Jason Peters?
-
Keep that on the PPP board.....you don't see me jaming it down people's throats here, so the next time you B word about religion....think about who brought it up on the football board.

Wrong thread to start after the bandwagon filled up. Look at my previous posts. I said many times that Reed is the #1 look for Edwards and that he probably will lead the team in receptions if he stays healthy. This is the problem.....21 days of good football and all is well. How many guys on our offense have won a SuperBowl? How many have won a playoff game? How many have been to a playoff game? The reason you make this move is not because you are lacking talent, but because you invest in SECURING a playoff spot which we are now in. An intelligent guy that can learn the offense in no-time and that will be on the sidelines for over half of the snaps is like having another coach on the team. Another guy that can communicate with Edwards on an ongoing basis to solidify reads. I know the moniker is "One Game at a Time!" Well.....by the time something goes wrong, it may be too late. Are we happy just makinga step forward and contending for a playoff spot, or do we attack an opportunity and try to win a division and maybe even get a bye? It's little decisions like this that can make the difference.

It's no fun to be looking for faults at 3-0. There is one thing the team should invest in though, and that is a gritty veteran WR that can be a #3-5 guy. This team has plenty of talent, intelligence, and chemistry. The one area that is lacking long term veteran composure though is the skill positions on offense. I like the players we have at WR for the most part, but they all have faults. Things are going well now, but I don't want the Bills to get in a position like the Sabres were in and be happy with their young guys going into the playoffs while ignoring grit and experience. I would love to bring in a guy that could be more of a player/coach. Troy Brown is sitting in a lazyboy somewhere, and a guy like him would be a great addition....especially to jump into the mind of New England. It doesn't have to be him...but someone along those lines. Our guys are good, but Evans has a contract in the background and was quirky last year. Reed has had some back problems. Roscoe needs to be limited so he doesn't get dinged up. Hardy seems to be taking it in very slowly and can use a mentor. It is not a rock solid group. This group is learning how to win, and it would be nice to have a guy that could guide them on and off the field. If we hit a rough patch, which WILL happen, I can see the offense losing it's mojo pretty quickly. How much could it hurt to bring in a vet for a few million as a consultant that can catch 25 balls for the year?

It is a 3 minute read. This is the bill as of Saturday morning. It has now been "ENHANCED" to add ANY type of debt, including credit card debt, car loans, student loans, etc. Like casino credit, they are limited to clean it out $700 billion at a time, but with the Fed and swaps, they can reload on an unlimited basis. Why do you think Paulson has been on every TV screen saying "We need to do this as fast as possible or else the system will collapse." ???? Bruce was always very modest....
Dwight Drane replied to JoeFerguson's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Ralph sounded sharp for himself yesterday. That last line from Bruce was classic.....we were timewarped back to 1991 for a brief moment. -
Hardy was out there a lot yesterday. He was on the field for the majority of the 2nd half I would guess...maybe 20-25 plays total. They are pretty much using him as a decoy long in order to open up the underneath routes. Then they will send him on a quick out every now and then to change it up, or put him into a pattern on short yardage. He was the primary receiver on a short 3rd down that Trent locked on to him, but he wasn't open.

No...."we'll" make it to the SD game. There is just a good chance that game won't be played as scheduled. There is going to be a "Banking Holiday" at some point soon. There is going to be a major war in the Middle East at some point soon. There is a good chance that war will drag in Russia, China, etc. and turn into a world war. There is a good chance we will suffer a hit to the homeland soon. There is a chance that the November elections don't happen. This bailout isn't $1 trillion. It is either not going to work, or it will have to be for amounts that will make the dollar worthless. I don't know which way we go. I know this for a fact as the pretty numbers and colors on my computer the past year have told me what a fraud the system has become. It's so close now that I won't waste my breath. I love how people mock others because those others don't match the reality that person wants to see. Reality isn't in a textbook. Reality is now.

Well.....it was fun while it lasted. I like the little blurb about how the act is only binding for 2 years, except for the clauses that give Paulson absolute power to redefine the act using any and all means possible. For those that haven't figured it out yet, and I don't expect everyone to grasp what is going on, especially now at this fast pace.....but Hank Paulson has just staged a Coup D'etat with help from "your" president and congress. This is nothing short of that. Do not be fooled by any mention of price limits, because the Fed can restock the treasury at any point and the treasury can buy "bad" paper at par from the banks, only to sell it back to them at gutted levels. This is a pure and simple takeover of public funds. The standard of living of the average American will never be the same, and there is a good chance that these actions will accelerate military conflict. I know I have had detractors here on this subject, but for the love of all that is good....please go protect yourselves while you still can. At the very least, pretend that you are about to experience a hurricane or blizzard, and go get food/gas/extra cash to have in case the infrastructure comes crashing down. The severity which has been going on behind the scenes has now been made public, but what hasn't been made public is the most likely future course of actions involving our homeland security and the rest of the world. For those that pray....PRAY. For those that don't, please try and be receptive to prayer as the next few months unfold. All the questions and misery that will pop up can not be solved by a government or a person, or some other galaxy. Good luck again everyone. Stay alert.

Everyone do yourselves a favor and enjoy tomorrow's home game. Not to sure what the status of the SD game in a month will be.

Ink really got me on the dog kick again and I finally rescued a little fox terrier from the pound a few weeks ago. I've had 4 dogs now (West Higland mutt/ Sheltie/ Rhodesian Ridgeback/ Toy Fox Terrier)....and they are all great dogs.....and they get smarter as you go up the list. Blue looks like he has a Ridgeback/Weimeriner mix. That dog must be loyal as can be. Looks like a great athlete from the pic. My cousin had a pug and that is another great dog. A demanding personality..but tons of fun. She is in advertising and they used the pug for some Purina ads. Most famous member of the family.

That's a great photo.....the funny part is, Dan Marino owned his own sportsbar in Miami until about 10 years ago or so, and they had a lifesize version of that in a laminated cutout inside the bar. I didn't understand how they didn't understand that was 0.1 seconds from Marino getting leveled. When the place went under, I went over to try and buy the cutout but it was already gone.

Ask me in 5 months......this is the classic smash and grab as I mentioned before. The grab can turn in 48 hours, so you have to be in the right spot ahead of time. This isn't "buy the dips, long term philosophy". This is....we are seeing an orchestrated move where unlimited pressure can be used on "enemies" of the dollar in order to prop up the system as long as it takes to get the "good guys" as far away from harm as possible. When the curtain gets pulled....either by choice or by rival nations....it is toast. If this board goes offline any time over the next few months for whatever reason....good luck!
