Obama is now President. The days of old-school, self-responsibility and no BS are over. I think Singletary should go cradle Vernon Davis in a gentle rocking motion, and stroke Vernon's face lightly with the back of his hand...and whisper to Vernon how great he is, because he is a #1 pick.

Exactly what I mentioned yesterday bout Trent
Dwight Drane replied to Tcali's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Could be...but he just doesn't trust his guys out there and is waiting too long for them to come open (if they ever do). Reed on his own is no superstar, but what he allows the rest of the offense to do, and his connection with an intelligent QB, make him close to priceless. I also blame the coaching staff for playing a Mularkey style of game yesterday. Many times calls weren't getting INTO the huddle until 12-18 seconds were left on the play clock, and that caused confusion. I think they knew they were in trouble with Reed out and a gimpy line, and went to some play calls that they usually don't work with. -
He did look solid out there, and Trent seemed to warm up to him. Right now we have NO viable #2 option. The Jets played Evans inside-outside all day.....let Hardy run his route without worry (while he has been dubbed Frankenstien by some here, I liken it more to running like he is wearing snowpants in the middle of January with 3 feet on the ground), and Parrish is dinged up as he had no gas to run down the INT that Lynch almost did. Royal is Royal...and there you go. Freddy Jackson is a great #3 read, if we have a #2 read out there that is a threat. The Bills tried to feature Freddy more yesterday, and it didn't work as the Jets were keyed in. If Fine can be a gritty little guy like a Cooley mode, then Freddy will have more room to work as well. If we can get a healthy Reed and Butler back in, Fine may just be the type that adds a missing piece. He hasn't been around long enough to know for sure, but you like to see the guy doing things on his first 20 routes that another pick can't do on his 300th route. This is a different team without a reliable Reed....it is sad to see how different. Looking on the bright side, long term this offense should be pretty darn good.

What do you think ... Does Tasker desrve HOF status?
Dwight Drane replied to BuffaloBill's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'm too big to fish it out of there.....maybe Tasker can fit one of his little midget hands down there and get it for me. I'm sure I'd have to pay him $50 to do it, and his agent would take $10 for getting him such a great gig, and he'd have to fit it in-between a bar-mitzvah and a voice-over for a carpet store...but he's a gamer. -

Dwight Drane replied to BuffaloBill's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I look at Tasker like a lot of people probably look at OJ. While he was great on the field and redefined the position.....his life after football makes me want to cringe every time i see him or hear his name. He makes plenty of money by pimping himself out for every commercial gig out there and by talking 300 words per minute on CBS. He doesn't need a yellow jacket. Take him off the Wall of Fame too. OJ only hurt two people. Tasker makes millions of peoples' ears bleed on a weekly basis. -
Cut Robert Royal
Dwight Drane replied to 2020 Our Year For Sure's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Please don't cut Royal now.....he brings so much comedy to my life. I mean really.....it's a nasty world out there, but whenever I think of Robert Royal, I smile, because I know a play like today is just waiting around the corner. -
The Bills went away from their draft plan under Levy of going with safe, intelligent, character guys....and went after athleticism. It is now biting them in the a$$ because of injuries to guys like McGee, Reed, Schobel, etc. As a whole, this group of rookies has been a non-starter. It doesn't mean they won't improve with time....but I do agree that I would have expected much more from a #11 pick with world class speed than what we have seen.

I was in the pisser as it happened and figured if there really was a problem, I would probably have FBI at my house at the end of the game.

I had more fun today then i have in a while at a Bills game. No freaking pimping of every product at every whistle. No sound bites and songs for the most part. If you are a true fan and can pay attention to the game....it was like going to your son's junior high game, only with 70,000 and no scoreboard whatsoever. I would pay an extra $10 a game for that sweet silence between plays. Important thing.....beer taps working, Pepsi machines not. Works for me. I was in the bathroom as the game started and lost power. EVeryone pulled out their cell phones and someone made the amendment to man law that taking flash photography in the men's room was now allowed. It is pitch black in there and when you gotta go, you gotta go.

I was talking in general. I figured we would have had a shutdown of the markets and banks by now and that commerce would grind to a halt. Nothing special about Buffalo itself. If there is a banking shutdown, I would expect games to get cancelled because of the threat of civil unrest. Nothing like getting 70,000 drunken, rowdy people in one place tht have just been denied access to their savings and have no idea what is going on. It seems as if there is pretty much full disclosure with the seriousness of the economy now. I don't think the average person understands yet that their pension fund is on the brink, or that their state and county is going to get slammed in all aspects. Everyone is on alert though. The problem now is that there is a powderkeg of tension built up, and just about anything can set it off. The way the Treasury pulled off the coup was pretty amazing. They were able to make Congress the bad guys in all this. When there is finally a banking holiday, and I'd be willing to wager there is....depending how drastic the outcome on the other side of it, the American people for the most part will not take it rolling over. What was speculation a few months ago is now palpable. I have figured this would happen before the election. It still may. If it doesn't, I will feel a bit more at ease that there isn't as much of an inside force driving events. If it happens before the election.....I will be scared for everyone in this country. If it never happens, I'll go see a shrink and get some anti-anxiety meds. Remember...there has to be an end game at some point. We cannot afford social security and medicare. Those alone will bankrupt the US 4x over. That has been my fear all along. If you have money and power, would you wait for it to happen naturally, or would you take control of the situation and make it happen on your terms if possible? On a bright note....the Canadian Dollar is almost to the point again of making a trip to the Sundowner worth it.

So sorry that we only had a 20-30% drop in the equity markets, there has been a call for a global currency from France, Russia, Italy, China, etc..., the Secretary of the Treasury runs the country, and the President has given 5 press conferences on national TV in the 4 weeks since I said that. You're right...everything's just peachy! I have gone long 80% however. Only because people need to raise cash and are dumping things that have a chance of surviving that shouldn't be dumped. No big names.....big names are in trouble. Tiny names sitting on cash, no debt, and with earnings next year because of backlog. $20 million companies will be able to take over $100 million companies. That is where you want to be in my opinion. I guess if I'm buying, the terrorist attack happens next week?

The airlines are the next closest thing to the government.....they almost never turn a profit and I fully expect to be lied to and screwed going into the deal. That is why when Paulson takes them over in a few months, I will not cry. The feel good thing works if more people tried it. You'd be amazed what a smile and a $20 bill can get you. Jetblue is a great airline to fly when everything goes perfect. If there is a problem, they are dismal and have no organization.

PTR has a point. I was diagnosed with cancer and had a bunch of flights scheduled with USAir during my treatment and recovery time. They didn't ask for any verification and just refunded the whole lot of the tickets. I was very appreciative and only flew USAir for the next few years. This was 6-7 years ago and I know times have changed, but a decent human at least looks into a way around a penalty when health is concerned.

Anyone else find it hysterical
Dwight Drane replied to Kelly the Dog's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
I work with thoroughbreds in florida, and the head of the Breeder's association is Dick Hancock. I was also pulled over on The Rubin Hyman Highway in South Carolina. I was about to tell the officer that I was laughing so hard at the sign, I lost track of my speed.....but I figured be happy with one ticket. -
If we're going to have a circle-jrk about this....might as well say Tony G. AND Larry Johnson for Jackson, Peters and a 2nd. Looks like Ralph received his bi-decade case of the lovin' last night to open up the purse strings.

I'm in good like dat when it comes to the translations. As much as some probably think I'm an ignorant bstrd, in Miami I was the only white person that went to my bank and my doctor. And my bank was Washington Mutual! Sad fact is my spelling doesn't beat Marshawn by much.

Thanks for the support TPS. I tried to warn Buffalonians what was in store. Anyone that reads a history of my posts might see them in a different light in hindsight. Guys....now that the financial disaster is out in the open, you have to think what the next steps will be. There is NO way for the US to save face. I quit my job months ago and have turned down others because I feel the most important thing right now is to protect oneself and family. Throw the bible out of it. Look at my early posts and you will see there is no religious undertone. It was only as this unfolded that it became clearer to me that we could be in the middle of something like that getting ready to take place. I've never said quit living your life or to run to some bunker. I've said to protect yourself. I've said to be careful. Now more than ever, we all need to do this. Like I said....pretend a blizzard or hurricane is on the way. Don't play politics, because we were sold out by both sides over the years. This is about power now. Ask yourselves who has power over what and who right now. I've said all along I hope I am wrong. It doesn't look that way right now. We are being held hostage....LITERALLY! This is about to go Tom Clancy I believe. Please stay sober and use your best judgement if things start to unravel.

Translation for those over 27 or who live in East Aurora: Dear Ladies and Gentlemen of the Greater Buffalo Area, It has been far too long since we have last conversed. I hope that nobody was concerned as to my absence from the internet recently. With the incredible start of our football team, I have been preoccupied in preparing for the next task at hand. Both I and the team have enjoyed your support, and we hope that you can continue showing enthusiasm in all aspects, Buffalo Bills. While I understand our detractors may have been reluctant to support us early in the year given our recent track record, I encourage you to not let pride get in the way and join us in our journey. I would especially like to thank all of my fans for their support. Please feel free to peruse my internet literary endevours at your conveinence. While I must leave you for now, please do not be disappointed. Nuh, nuh, nuh; gone. Yours Truly, Marshawn Thelonious Lynch IV
