Tim, Are you getting any sense at all that the front office is looking to shop Lynch a bit harder than what we are hearing or may be expecting? It seems as if some influential members of the community may have run out of patience with some of Lynch's "misunderstandings", and it is only a matter of time before another "misunderstanding" occurs. As much as he seems to have great football character, that mutual respect does not look to translate off of the field. I would think this trying of patience has been communicated to the front office.

That was the jist of it back then. Ralph was very much bottom line back then and had little mercy. I have some great stories from those years. A certain Hall of Famer type was so po'd at the lack of player support from Ralph that he would threaten to sit out games due to "injury" unless a few extra C-notes were handed over an hour before kickoff. OJ credits Saban for making him the player that he was. He said he would have been the Ryan Leaf of that era if Saban didn't come in and turn things around. That team under Saban was very tight, and have done their best to stick together over the years. Whether it is for stadium ceremonies, or poor Bob Chandler and then Ferguie....you can see the love those guys have for each other.

Can that same poster do me a favor and post a "Larry Quinn is alive and well" rumor on the Sabres board? Maybe we can get lucky!

I agree....I can envision him getting there a step and a half late on a 70 yd bomb to Evans....or a 15 yd out to Reed. Even though he made a few INts here, he looked like a 40 year old father trying to cover his 16 year old kid.

I hope Hangartner has grown up since college

I'll take Joe Devlin II -
Not anymore. Ask DIB. I left Davie in 2006 because I had a great apartment that was converted to a condo and they wanted $250K. I figured I could pick the same thing up in Buffalo for a little over $100K. Today that same condo is in foreclosure and can be had for $109K. Davie would be similar to affluence of Orchard Park. The $3 million homes are on the water for the most part. Not a big deal. After further review, I take back my uncle jokes on Coles. I never saw the interview and didn't think it was as bad as it was. I'll give the guy a mulligan for being a bit of a drama case.

Just noticed something on BB.com
Dwight Drane replied to BillsGuyInMalta's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Reminds me of the Flutie/Johnson saga. I think it was a store linked to this site......anyway, on the eve of the decision on who the Bills would keep, they discounted the Rob Johnson jerseys down to $10 or $15. I bought them out on a gamble. Interesting observation on Crowell. -
Greer is a perfect fit for New England. New England is as good as they are for one reason. The foundation of their team is a bunch of intelligent football players with enough talent that by working together, they improve through synergy. It is that simple, and the blueprint Marv Levy was attempting to copy. Greer is just plain old solid. He knows where to be and has good instincts. I hope someone does overpay for him because he is a class act.

umm... Dockery was our best O-Lineman
Dwight Drane replied to grammer_police's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I have lost total faith in this front office. Dockery was overpaid, yes....but we already handed him the money. He went on to Washington for a better financial package than he would have made here the rest of his deal. I agree that there is a huge difference between not playing up to your contract and expectations, and being a bad player. Dockery was a lot like a defensive defenseman in hockey....I didn't notice him much. To me, that means he was solid enough. Not only that, but I am sure he covered up for Peters and his 7 Wonderlic, many a time. While I was disappointed that Dockery was never a real force in the run game, I never saw him get blown off the ball like the rest of the interior, and I didn't see him get beat consecutive plays on a regular basis like Peters. My prediction....unless we bring in someone with smarts at LG, we are going to see Edwards killed by week 4 from his blind side. -
Hey....at least the greater Davie/Hollywood region has a Bass Pro. You ain't nuttin til you get a Bass Pro.

I wonder if he felt any chest pain? If he did, he should get that checked out right away.

In horseracing there is a term called "Bridgejumper". This is used to identify a bettor that wagers a huge sum on a horse to Show, which means finish in the top 3. These guys show up when a horse stands out so much over the competition that the only way it doesn't finish in the top 3 is if it gets hurt. The track has to pay you a 5% return on your money no matter how much you wager if you win, so while every other horse has 5,000....10,000...20,000....bet on it, the "sure thing" will have say $200,000 bet on it. Where else can you get a 5% return on your money in 2 minutes? Every now and then the sure thing isn't so sure. He fails to finish in the money, and the other horses pay crazy amounts to show. It may pay $12 to win, and $80 to show. This is because that huge amount bet by the Bridgejumpers gets distributed to the bettors of the top 3 horses. I'm sure you can see why they are called Bridgejumpers in this scenario. Last night Bobby Jindal took down a lot of GOP Bridgejumpers. We're F'd

90% of the DVDs I own are from HBO comedy. Lucky Louie, Mr Show, Larry Sanders, Curb Your Enthusiasm, Dream On..... I think I could last a few years in solitary if they let me have those DVDs in my cell.

Remember Tomorrow is Pancake or Paczki day
Dwight Drane replied to millbank's topic in Off the Wall Archives
Paczki!!! I was shopping at Topps early morning the other day and they had just wheeled out boxes of them. I nearly teared up. Bavarian Powder Sugar.....Glazed Raspberry..........now I gotta go back for more! -
The latest trend in advertising is to package goods in early 80's schemes. Since the most productive workers in society are in that 25-50 age group, and they've lost about 40% of their net worth over the past 2 years....companies are trying to send them back to the carefree days of their youth in order to get them to buy their crap. I would think a few teams will go back to their early 80 looks the next few years. I hope the Patriots do. Or the Bucs.

Who needs to read a bill before voting on it anyway
Dwight Drane replied to /dev/null's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
Obama the Slickster! Let's say someone weighs 300 lbs. The insurance company says they won't insure them unless they lose 100 lbs because they are afraid they are a walking timebomb. The 300lb'er tells the insurance company, "I will go on a diet where I will lose, or not gain 100 lbs." Does the insurance give the person coverage? Welcome to our Craptastic land of Chaos...... I'm not even going to make myself sick by reading that 1,000 page disaster. I'm just counting down the days until the people finally understand what is going on and start dragging these clowns down the street by their hair. Both sides. -
So far, watching this administration in action is like watching Tom Hanks in "Big".
