I like that Sidbury pick, Blue.....he has Bills profile written all over him. Nice dig. -
The Modrak Gimmick Pick strikes again. Parrish....Hardy....Maybin. Maybe they can call up the Big Show from WWE to play left tackle.

The Long Awaited, Highly Respected Mock Draft
Dwight Drane replied to San Jose Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Maybin needs to put on 20 lbs in the right places. He has smoothness, but in all honesty, pull up the video of Rulon Davis from Cal and they look like the same guy. Except Davis is a 2nd day pick. I don't follow college closely, but if I just look at the combine films like I do every year at positions of need, I would say the guy you can't lose with if he is there is Orakpo. Talent and heart goes a long way. Top combine players in my opinion after watching every OL, DL, LB and TE TE- Cook-SC-1st, Morrah-Cal-3rd OL- Loadholt-OU-2nd, Shipley-PSU-2nd/3rd DL-Orakpo-TEX-Top 10, Moala-USC-2nd, Orion Martin-VTech-3rd/4th, Rulon Davis-Cal-4th/5th I couldn't get excited about any of the LBs. Smith from Baylor is a freak of nature at OT. -

Dominic Rhodes signed for 2 years
Dwight Drane replied to Nostradumbass's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
You would think Marshawn would be hangin' in his hottub in the OP, just chillaxin'......but Mr Lynch doesn't seem to understand that his professional future is hanging by a thread, and he continues to put himself at risk. As we have seen with Whitner....you can only look the other way so many times before you run out of other ways to look....then you Taser his a$$. I would be perfectly happy trading Lynch while the Bills are in Crazy Eddie mode. A backfield of Jackson and Rhodes should be fine for a few years. -

OK kids......for everyone that thinks anybody who feels that Hardy will not turn out to be a superstar, quality starter, or even a mediocre 10yr receiver, is a jackpot.....and for those that love pulling up Eric Moulds' name when showing the merits of waiting for a Wide Receiver to develop.....here are some stats. These are the WR's drafted by the Buffalo Bills over the past 20 years: Player................Round.........Rookie Stats............Best Year of Career Stats James Hardy 2 8-87-2 ????? Eric Moulds 1 20-279-2 100-1292-10 Lee Evans 1 48-843-9 82-1292-8 Peerless Price 2 31-393-3 94-1252-9 Josh Reed 2 37-509-2 56-597-1 Don Beebe 3 17-317-2 39-699-4 Russell Copeland 4 13-242-0 42-646-1 Justin Armour 4 26-300-3 37-538-4 Roscoe Parrish 2 15-148-1 35-352-1 Reggie Germany 7 12-203-0 12-203-0 Steve Johnson 7 10-102-2 ?????? And here are the rest...........all who combined for under 100 NFL catches Bucky Brooks 2 Sam Aiken 4 Avion Black 4 Kevin Knox 6 Fred Coleman 6 Millard Hamilton 6 Freddie Smith 7 Willie Harris 7 Kamil Loud 7 Drew Haddad 7 Brad Lamb 8 Chris Walsh 9 Barry Rose 10 Al Edwards 11 Now......I don't know what anyone else sees....but I see a list where anyone that was capable of cracking a lineup for any period of time contributed at least twice the stats in their rookie year than those of Hardy. Hardy played 14 games and started 3. We see names outplaying him the likes of.....Justin Armour, Reggie Germany, and Russel Copeland. We see career #3 talent such as Don Beebe, and Josh Reed....the guy supposedly so bad that Hardy was going to take his place in a matter of a few games....CLEARLY outplaying Hardy their first year. Now....when you look at career numbers, even the guys that had very good output their rookie season, were only able to moderately outpace that production during their best year as a pro, minus Moulds and Price. On that entire list, the only 2 players you could get a majority here to agree on as quality #1 NFL receivers are Moulds and Evans. The majority never developed into ANYTHING, let alone a starting WR in the NFL. Who do you see when you look at this list, then look at James Hardy? Do you see Eric Moulds? Or do you see Russell Copeland, Justin Armour, Roscoe Parrish, Reggie Germany? Or do you see Bucky Brooks? -

Clayton says Bills likely not done dealing
Dwight Drane replied to jahnyc's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I don't remember him coming in here as "raw". I remember him getting drafted and he was expected to start opposite Evans at some point during the season. The excuses started to come as it became obvious he wasn't going to be anywhere near an impact player. When the front office comes out and tells us they didn't know he only ran set plays in college and never ran adjustment routes.....that is pretty sad when taking a guy 2nd at a position of need. Given Hardy's potential to learn on the fly....I am not expecting much improvement. At best you end up with a role player that has a few tailored plays written for him. After watching Russell Copeland and James Hardy for the same amount of time in the NFL.....I think my money is safe when I say Copeland is a better player and will end up with better stats. Instead of many here that want to throw out Moulds' name for slow development.....go pull up some tapes of Bucky Brooks and then try to use that arguement with a straight face. Pyschology is a b!tch. People need to learn how to separate what they want from what the reality of the situation is. The reality is I find it hard to believe you could get a 4th round pick for Hardy from even the neediest of teams. I am salivating to see just how good an off-balanced, poor strength, mediocre hands, foggy headed, molases route running WR develops over time after coming off major knee surgery. The tenor of this post isn't aimed at you John....but to the 120 teenie-boppers that need to watch a little football and live a little life before they start flinging their dung laden opinions around as absolute facts with added insults. -

If the Bills are in "admit we made a mistake" mode and are clearing out all of their underperformers.....they need to admit Hardy was not worth the pick, even with a healthy knee. Hardy is much like Roscoe in that he doesn't know where to be on the field and is pretty much going to run a few patterns for you. Has Roscoe improved much at that in the time he has been here? And Roscoe has much more quickness with the ability to get open. Hardy's only asset seems to be his height. Now that we have a guy like Owens, and seem to be looking at a legit TE, Hardy seems a non-factor. In reality there is no way the front office admits a mistake so soon after making it, and now they have the built-in excuse that Hardy bust his knee up if/when he doesn't pan out. I'm just trying to be hopeful that they've seen the light and that it makes sense to take your medicine in recouping low draft picks for underperformers than to overpay them for poor production the rest of their careers. -

Winner! Johnson looks like a nice #4-5 receiver, and for the life of me I don't understand why we didn't see more of Jenkins at WR when Reed was out last year. Hardy is a lost cause to me at this point and I would love if the front office had the nads to pick up a 5th for him as well...if anyone would take him. I am happy with Evans, Reed, Owens with spells by Johnson, an upgrade at TE, and McKelvin attempting to not do something stupid in the return game. When you are paying Roscoe for what amounts to similar production that McKelvin seems to be able to give you.....I have no problem with a trade. -

Freddy Jackson will be a Buffalo Bill longer than Marshawn Lynch will. I would wager on it. Marshawn is one little incident away from being in bigtime trouble. I love his attitude on the field, but he is not taking the off the field situation seriously. Plus he is going to lose the tread on his tire in little time the way he runs, if he manages to stay on the field. -
Donte Whitner's facebook status

I am getting frustrated with the Bills sarting to look like the Bengals, but you have to look at each player and situation on it's own. You can argue that a positive character attribute in Whitner led him to do something beyond acceptable. He was protecting his family at all costs. He didn't care who said what, or what they did to him....he was going to protect his family. With the leadership role he has taken on and the honesty he has shown the past few years.....I consider this a non-issue. I trust the guy's intentions. Just a few days earlier he was on a Telethon for Kids, spotaneously auctioning off things for charity...like a day in a suite with his family for a game. He gets it.....he knows what it takes to be a stand up guy, and it so happened he crossed the line by dealing with the cops like that. I would respect him even more if he shut his trap now and pulled a "yes Sir"...becauses it would be in the best interests of everyone at this point. To me there is a huge difference between a story like this, and a story like Hardy's where it is just the opposite. -

If anyone is thinking of going to the game, remember that the hotel inside the stadium is an option. The rooms are in the upper deck, but right now you can get a 1200sq ft suite that 10 people can watch the game from, and 4 people can sleep overnight for $699 CDN. There are rooms for $489 CDN where 5 can watch, and regular rooms for $159 with a AAA rate. I booked for the Dolphin game last year and the UB Bowl game but canceled out a few days before each. That's the good part. You can reserve now then cancel if the season is a flop, like last year. The only downside is you are forced to buy food+booze from the hotel, but I am sure a few creative folks can figure a way to smuggle various cordial bottles in through various means. Book through marriott.com and it is the Downtown Reniassance if anyone cares. The 8:00 game makes it a 1 night stay, and that is why I will go this year if possible. Last year was a 2 night stay and thank the baby Jesus I didn't lay out for that debacle. -
She's made more than a few residual dollars off of me as I am bunkered down in a Marriott in the middle of nowhere with nothing but a Waffle House and an On Demand television to keep me busy.

Problem is, progression is not linear. If you were to ask that question back then, a more fair question today would be to ask what it will look like in 2014. If you look at it by means of an equation, either the world won't be around then, or we will have to suffer massive calamities in order to both stop our progress and eliminate current technologies. There is no other way around it. The real eggheads will try and tell you that we will achieve total conciousness and immortality thanks to the aid of computers and scientific advancements, but realists like myself are there to tell them we are more likely to blow each other up, or some intern at CDC is going to set off the sprinkler system by accident and we all get the "flu". As much as I have fun throwing tomatoes at each other with the Economy, this is the real crisis behind the scenes. In a sense this is why the economy is being transformed in front of our eyes. It is time to take ourselves out and have a shot to survive long term before the laws of physics and nature would do it for us. I don't agree with how the process is unfolding, but in certain decision makers' minds, they are doing the right thing. Or at least they tell themselves that so they can sleep at night.

The Brandon/Rosenhaus lovefest continues! If you don't think Stroud getting an extension had anything to do with this...you silly! The two work out an extension...have a few stumbling blocks....Russ is concerned the city and fans may lose some momentum with TO not showing up...Drew says if Russ can sweeten it a tad for Stroud, he'll get TO to show up this week....deal done...Drew calls TO "Hey baby....they love you up here...they can't get enough of you. The jerseys are flying off the shelves...it's crazy. I think you should come up here for a few days and meet some of the guys...show a little good will to the fans...they'll eat it up. Just a few days and see how it goes." We are in bed with the devil!

I Want Revenge is the real deal. I don't see him as a Superhorse, but the only question going into yesterday was if he loved the inner track. Well.....between propping at the gate, running into trouble, and getting bounced around, he could have won by 8 yesterday without blinking. Now he has had 2 taxing efforts saying he might bounce, but he is built like a firehydrant and Stephen Got Even usually gets you classic horses when he fires that quality sperm. I'm not a giant fan of the connections now, but the horse and rider seem to have it together. The problem with the west coast horses....nobody has moved forward off the polytrack except I Want Revenge, and he looks like a dirt horse. Chocolate Candy has an interesting run line, but I don't like the way he looks. The problem with the Florida horses....that track has been playing speed this season. Quality Road looks like the real deal, and if I had to guess, he can win the Preakness. Dunkirk I can't get hot and bothered for when you consider he is an Unbridled's Song trained by Pletcher. That equals 13th place in the Derby, 10 month layoff, and winning stakes on the grass at Saratoga next year. Theregoesjojo is very interesting to me. He is a little guy, but if he is left to settle midpack and make one giant run at the quarter pole, I can see him getting the Derby trip in style. He is a pro....but he wasn't going to win in Florida even getting slammed shut. McPeek has been backtracking and sounds cooled on him a little, but if you let him run his race he is my mild longshot. He reminds me a lot of Peace Rules who was small, smart, and would always show up on the fringe of big races and manage to pop some big wins up. Even if it is on the turf, I can see him making a few million in his career. Win Willy has come out of nowhere with modest connections, but he is a BEAUTIFUL horse. He has the running style to pull it off. His sire won the Derby, but Monarchos has been a dud at stud. He looks a lot like his grandsire however, and similar to Wait a While, who is all class. I felt like a jerk after having him in my trifecta last race, but not boxed. I won't make that mistake again in the Derby. My bomb is Take the Points. He is a classic looking horse, and a plodder in style even though he has speed. Nobody gives him any respect, and he is by a fairly new sire in Even the Score, who gets horses that can move well. It's funny I like Even the Score because his daddy is Unbridled's Song, the daddy of Dunkirk I just bashed, and this horse is trained by Pletcher. I can just see him having enough oomph to pass tired speed horses yet be far enough ahead of closers to get a piece of the superfecta. I think he will be better on dirt as well. Plenty of other quality horses with a shot, but I will look at the core of I Want Revenge (4-1), Win Willy (20-1), Theregoesjojo (30-1) if he runs....and then play trifectas and superfectas with Quality Road(6-1), Take the Points (60-1)and West Side Bernie (40-1). My hope is that Quality Road runs mediocre and I can get him in the Preakness at 8-1 or so, all things being equal. Or I can just hand over my $200 now and save the pain of watching.

Not only does Golisano play politics with his wallet when it comes to the Syracuse boy, but wasn't it interesting that Larry Quinn greenlighted the original contract 3 years ago? The same Larry Quinn that refused to keep Pat LaFontaine because of his health risks from concussions and the liability involved. Oh that's right....Quinn didn't grow up with LaFontaine's dad at Canisius High School like he did with Connolly's father.

I am not sure if this is the same website, but it sounds like jerseys I have seen. If that is the case, what I can say is that the name and numbers are of the same quality you would get from an authentic sewn on. They also add on the captain's patch if a player is a captain and any special patch for the team that year. The biggest downside is that it is sewn onto cheaper material. The worst part of the jersey is the neckline...which you can tear off and tie on your arm to shoot heroine. The actual jersey is also more like material used by Champion in the old days. Don't walk around any sharp objects, because it has a shot of tearing. All in all, they look great from a distance or after 4 beers. You might feel a little dirty though in wearing one. Sort of like being the 3rd guy at the frat party to make out with the same girl in one night sort of dirty.
