To play devils advocate..should people with STI's be readily available for the public to see? The flu? Should people who have been on the list but are now negative and have antibodies get preferential treatment when applying for a job, for a promotion? get to move about freely and not be governed by the other rules such as masks and not being able to go to a bar?

the context that funeral homes and morques were backing up as people wanted to have "normal" funerals but social distancing and restrictions of # of people at a gathering were delaying several funerals. It was not pure volume of the number of people passing. Either way it is awful, but the impression the articles, particularly the pictures and headlines want people to believe is folks are dying so fast in Texas refrigerated trucks are needed to store the people dying from Covid bodies, and that is just taken out of context

it covered 2017-2018. I am not advocating that Covid is the average flu, it is not. So much so, that it affects children much less severally than the normal "influenza" season. And yet we want to treat it like it acts like other influenza, and that just does not seem to make sense to me is all. The pictures of the trucks is very similar to the pictures of Hart Island in New York in April. The implication was so many people were dying, bodies had to be dumped in mass graves. No mention of context, no mention that it is the NYC potters field, no mention these were bodies that no one was claiming. Yes, the trucks have been ordered, but context and not headlines are important. There is no denying what is happening in FL and TX right now. But reporting without context makes it difficult for people to believe anything anything, even those things that are obvious

wonder why they did not need trucks during this flu season..where 11,000 people died in Texas vs the 3770 who have died from Covid. Maybe cause funerals are being delayed https://www.texmed.org/Template.aspx?id=48701 https://www.star-telegram.com/news/coronavirus/article244267152.html https://www.texmed.org/Template.aspx?id=48701 ..and lord knows how schools were able to stay open when 180 children died , and we are at less than 20 now per the CDC.

The Next Pandemic: SARS-CoV-2/COVID-19
plenzmd1 replied to Hedge's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
Yes, my god, do you even read the articles or just the headlines? here is the gist of it, again straight for the article. ario Martinez, assistant director of the local health department, said the trucks are necessary due to a surge in deaths and funerals being postponed in accordance with social distancing guidelines, now, I wonder how many places outside of Texas would need to have these trucks if they stopped having funerals! Do yourself a favor moving forward and actually read the article not just the headline or result you want to believe -

Did oyu perhaps read the article? Even in CNN.." do not know how many deaths are from Covid as deaths always rise in the heat"...in Texas..have used for 1 day, but all well back inside now" The fear mongering done through blatant headline junk focused on short attention spans of Americans is disturbing -

i generally get it..but the requirement should simply be..we can serve you anything you want at a table, but that's it..no getting it at bar! Not doing it a lot lately cause nothing replaces sitting at the bar and we can not so that quite yet in VA, but been out a few times with friends to just drink and get absolutley hammered. We have to sit at a table..and our bill is not small..and restaurants makes gobs of money selling booze...and truy thats is why we are doing it..to give our favorite establishments some help . Guess we can order a bag of chips..but this rule is just dumb Uhmm, we are almost two months out from Memorial day, when positives first started increasing. Show me one expert saying that we are going to see a death spike, will be awaiting your responce -
Global warming err Climate change HOAX
plenzmd1 replied to Very wide right's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
That all could be , I do not know the answer to those. It I am confident that Solar is in the “ exponential” growth phase right now that with 8 years we will not only have the capability to produce all the energy currently needed, but also the means to store it efficiently. I mean Tesla talking bout a million mile battery? EV will be ubiquitous within 10 years, can envision most not owning cars , etc. as you say, I am not sure about the collateral problems that presents , and do need to learn about that. -

Outside the wells and weathering homes, At the most basic the answer is Solar. -
You are the very one who said “ I don’t have the time or desire to look up specifically what’s happening”. It is common. But you weigh in like you do. That’s called reading a headline. Do you know hospitalization rates , ICU availability ,bed availability, testing anomalies , dwell time , IFR by state? By age? Age of new positive tests? but yes, but al means I should take your opinion seriously cause ????

And that’s my point. “ I don’t have the time or desire to look up what’s specifically happening” but I like to tell everyone whatever is happening is wrong and I am glad I got the hell out of the states as it sucks there. but again, all I did was read a headline. if you can’t see the problem in that thought process I don’t know what to tell you

Big tech is driving it cause that where the growth is now. Certainly not rocket science, and not something that is only pandemic driven. give ya hint, ala the Graduate. Solar , EV, Autonomous Driving. 5 years from now are the big tech of today.
