  1. wait to you see 1600 of the 2000 players going broke with no jobs this year...
  2. cmon , that's not doable. something like 30 kids die every year from the flu, 2017-2018 like 87..way more than will die from this..should we close schools every year during flu season
  3. Very well sourced and researched article authored by 4 professors at Harvard's School of Public Health PLenty of links to studies to substantiate claims views. May have to copy and paste link in incognito mode to get past paywall https://www.bostonglobe.com/2020/07/20/opinion/listen-science-reopen-schools/
  4. No freaking way that happened. I can see the non positive players played
  5. Rapid antigen testing becoming more widespread...been in Fredricksburg for about 6 weeks, now available in Richmond..even in West VA, son did a rapid test in Morgantown 3 weeks ago
  6. Please don't forget to post the link to the kid who went to daycare and spread it to 26 kids..if that happened i think it is something that changes a lot of thoughts, including mine TY
  7. There is, and a lot. I would suggest you take a look at this article, and all of the articles out there and studies that support that. May need to copy ans paste in incognito mode . Tons of great links included in that article https://www.bostonglobe.com/2020/07/20/opinion/listen-science-reopen-schools/
  8. would love to see a link to that..please provide Passan made a point to say " there are some cases that are symptomatic"..just because almost all cases in athletes so far have been asymptomatic, or very mild symptoms. I don't believe any hospitalizations.
  9. I dont believe that to be correct from anything i have read...can you show where you are getting this info?
  10. Looks like MLB is testing every other day...who knows how fast they are getting results...but assume it is quicker then the rest of us schlubs. Based on that, they either acquired in GA or PA...my gut is on PA. Wonder why these guys are not using the antigen test...15 minute results...on the bettermd site( urgent care place in Richmond) 96.8% accurate..i am sure there is more to it than i know however
  11. symptoms can take two weeks, the virus is immediate AFAIK
  12. Marlins have been on the road for at least 6 days, so most likely contracted it in PA...must admit not familiar with baseballs testing protocol..but assume it is at least every other day
  13. Think maybe they played in Atlanta for exhibition games before traveling to Philly for their 3 game series there..edit.looks like they have been on the road since at least last Tuesday
  14. I think they have been on the road for a while...will do the research
  15. Man, spread that quick in a baseball clubhouse...just think about football, the other non bubble sport
  16. Urghh...some symptomatic
  17. Agree its a mess..and depressing. While you mighty not have to be wealthy, you have to be at least right in the middle. And that leaves a lot of kids out. I could prolly fins it again, but about two weeks ago LT Gov of PA said almost half of the students in the city of Philly never logged in once in the spring..I mean people worry about what kids lose from the past year over the summer...what if so many of these kids with limited access to tech, parents who have to go to work and not WFH..and they go 12 months without real instruction.
  18. as i mentioned back a ways..the divide will continue to grow https://www.washingtonpost.com/local/education/as-public-schools-go-all-virtual-in-fall-parents-eye-private-schools-that-say-they-will-open-their-campuses/2020/07/26/1e446ab0-cc5b-11ea-b0e3-d55bda07d66a_story.html?hpid=hp_hp-top-table-high_privateschools-840p%3Ahomepage%2Fstory-ans
  19. man, this is so sad. The divide will continue to get wider and wider. https://www.washingtonpost.com/local/education/as-public-schools-go-all-virtual-in-fall-parents-eye-private-schools-that-say-they-will-open-their-campuses/2020/07/26/1e446ab0-cc5b-11ea-b0e3-d55bda07d66a_story.html?hpid=hp_hp-top-table-high_privateschools-840p%3Ahomepage%2Fstory-ans
  20. I could take the shutdowns etc when i could get outside more..this poop is just getting ridiculous
  21. Like Obama, Gore and Clinotn did right? Man, the racial and socioeconomic makeup at Sidwell is SOOO diverse! https://www.theatlantic.com/education/archive/2016/08/a-public-school-paradox/495227/#:~:text=When Sasha and Malia Obama, other political progeny%2C as alumni.
  22. Suburb is a suburb is a suburb, you are exactly right. Now, I love Buffalo, and I love DC..both cities offer great things to do, albeit different. Bur Williamsville and Rockville are interchangeable..I agree
  23. And sure as chit as soon as I said no talk of walking back... lord knows we are all screwed up with this thing. sorry if I come across as an ass, ( course it’s cause I am) this poop is just getting to me.
  24. so just to play devils advocate..when should places open up? What constitutes an "outbreak"....purely low positivity rates? how many tests per capita?# of cases?
