  1. was fun hame last night..i even made it all the way through!!!! I will still watch the vast majority games, and remember that great run the Sens the made a couple years back..and i think the Sabres can do that. My real peeve is with the point system. According to SportsClub Stats..great site BTW Bills playoff chances down 2 games with 4 to play................7.7% Sabres Playoff Chances down 2 games with 52 to play........10.9% NHL needs to get rid of this asinine system !
  2. those percentages are based on the results since the 3 point game has come into effect. It accounts for the way teams start to play as early as December...playing the 3rd to a standstill so each team gets a point, then fighting over the bonus point. Look at last night, half the friggen games worth 3 points, half worth 2. When a game is worth 3 and between two teams you are trying to chase, really freaking hard to make up ground, even a small number like 4 points. The empirical evidence bears that out over the last 11 years Frustrates me to no end when people say the standings would be the same with a 3-2-1 point system...teams and players would approach the 3rd completely different, there is no way to know right now how the new point would affect changes until you actually enact the change. Think of it this way..since Jack has come back, the Sabres have earned 7 of 10 points..freaking awesome by any measure. I am not 100% positive, but i think they were 4 out of the wild card then, they are 5 out now. And if you go by the magic 95 points and in, if they continue to gain points at 70% clip, they will only get to 98 points. So very little margin of error ! Good article here as well http://www.cbssports.com/nhl/news/the-race-to-95-points-what-nhl-teams-need-to-do-to-make-playoffs/
  3. I cant find the article from this year, but as crazy as it sounds, i think only 4 teams since 05 have been 4 pts back of last spot at end of November and made playoffs. 3 pt games as the season grinds on make it so freaking hard to catch anyone. http://grantland.com/features/nhl-playoff-chances-november/ http://www.hockey-reference.com/friv/playoff_prob.cgi minor miracle for them to make a run at it with so many teams to pass...those playoff percentages tell it all
  4. Hamilton was was speculating they may HAVE to send him back, even if he stays up say 12 games, due to the emergency nature of the callup...but then said that would be stupid if you burn his ECL and he still has to go back down. He did say he has to dress right now if he is up...no leeway there
  5. Funny, was just listening to Hamilton from his spot this morning on GR, and he said same thing...no one can tell him what the rule is with this emergency recall and if they want to keep him up...
  6. Paetch , Fitzpatrick , and Jillison count?
  7. what is your point here? The net 82 passing yards against a team that earned the #1 pick in the draft? the 202 net yards the team gained...again against the 27th ranked D in 2015? Maybe I missed your point...were you saying that game as an argument that Taylor is not a starting QB...then yes i agree and mike dropped...cause that was as awful a game as QB can have.
  8. Agreed on the team aspect..but an open receiver is an open receiver, time to throw is time to throw, reading the field is reading the field, running into sacks is running into sacks..and the all22 will show those things... And the last 5 out of 6 games has not been kind to Tyrod
  9. i am no fan Rex, but people wanted Caldwell's head on a platter last year as well. Switch to a new Cooter, have a receiver retire to who the QB always forced the ball, get some "puck luck"(behind in 11 straight 4th quarters and come out with winning record) , get some confidence, and Voila' ...
  10. did not watch last night, 3xFF this morning...1pt better than the zero expected, ....tough one tonight, that D against the 4th highest scoring team n the NHL...but i will watch this one
  11. That would work , but think even better would be just putting the grate over a fully lit charcoal chimney starter .....that chit gets crazy hot
  12. Bad enough to keep being mediocre, but according to this we spent the 7th most CASH on players the last 4 years. Aye yi yi....count me in on thinking both teams would get better with an owner who spent money...shos brains is still the most important asset https://twitter.com/AndrewBrandt/status/805873451475017728
  13. its 8 AM, and i am finding myself thinking of skipping this game tonight. 3 beatdowns in 3 days just is not attractive to me. Having said that, come dinner and a glass a wine and 8PM, my son will goad me into watching saying we can FF if it gets out of hand, i will acquiesce, grab a beer...and go to bed depressed yet again!!!!
  14. Thanks for the replies everyone ! Turned out great..so freaking easy. Put it in at 2, took it out right after Tyrod's fumble. Put a paste of fresh rosemary, thyme, garlic and olive on, put in under the broiler...awesome. Augie here is the vacuum sealer i bought. Looks like it is $10 more now, but worked great fo rme this weekend. https://www.amazon.com/Gourmia-GVS425-Function-Customizable-Preserve/dp/B01M6217V1 Any other recipes you all really like greatly appreciated.
  15. i went 6-10 as a wish....hate Rex and maybe gets him fired. Added bonus of people giving up their seasons so i can move lower in the upper deck!!!
  16. watched a bit of both of these games, then took an hour to do some chores...when i left these were both games...now giant middle finger emoji to both the Falcons and Jaguars
  17. i agree with this..not the timing of the pregnancy, but the timing of the birth
  18. Thx LA, that sound's awesome, but a roast it is today! Already thawed and ready to go...aint getting frozen a 2nd time!
  19. i refuse to click on BN articles , but hindsight is always 20/20. Raiders have a stud QB, Billsdo not...end of story. Bills O-Line is strong, Bills D is arguably better than the Raiders, they have better HEALTHY receivers, we have a superstar difference maker at RB...but they have a SUPERIOR QB. I could write an article saying how smart they are...but it's really all about the QB . and yes, they have a better coach with some balls..so there's that.
  20. Rep well fellas...disappointed a bit the grills aren't fired up yet
  21. Okay, y'all convinced me to buy one of these Anova rigs. Firing er up today. Bought a $40 vacuum sealer on Amazon that seems to work great and be very easy, went to the local restaurant supply for a 4.5-gallon plastic container with lid for $20. So all ready equipment wise! BTW, if you go direct to the Anova site they have $50 off, free shipping and no tax right now. Thanks to Augie for the help and suggestions on equipment! I have a 5 lb rib roast ready to go. Some sites say use fresh herbs, other suggest dried much better in sous vide. Would love to hear from folks what they like best and how they prep a roast like that. Looks like a 6-7 hour bath would be perfect for this piece of meat. If that sounds off, please let me know. Also, if you all have any favorite recipes be great if you could share here, looking forward to using this piece of equipment this winter.
  22. excellent point on the blocking, but Nick has improved in that significantly from last year. Problem is two tight end sets
  23. my wife would have it no other way for # 2 after a 24-hour labor with #1...knew the birthdate of #2 i think a good month before ! That being said, i can see how others would be agaisnt...if he misses the game he misses the game. Last 5 game he has 85 yards....not average...TOTAL..
