  1. So..anybody lining up for this release? WNY tie in BTW https://www.washingtonpost.com/lifestyle/food/theres-something-brewing-in-the-walmart-beer-aisle-but-you-cant-call-it-craft/2017/01/22/cb5e5668-deaa-11e6-ad42-f3375f271c9c_story.html?postshare=9771485091980134&tid=ss_tw&utm_term=.f91d6325da59
  2. just finished watching....it was a fun game! games always seem better when i watch the next morning!
  3. Very nice article...but almost every article on The Players Tribune is ghost written. Players love it as they control the message, but very few, like almost zero, actually write the content.
  4. I am wasting time waiting for my wife...sat down and Cops is on the TV...can never go wrong with a Cops rerun!!! Is this show still on TV?
  5. John, you can not find out if a guy is a number 1 by splitting time. If you want a guy who can go 62-68 games, gotta give one of these guys 3/4 of the starts and see how it falls out. Ya got a first in Lehner, a GM who made that investment...he is the guy from here on out that needs to get the majority of starts. Or, you can make the decision today to move on and give Nillson the 3/4..i am okay with that as well. Don't think it will happen, but be fine if it did. Only losing plan is to continue to split starts....and end without an an answer on either. As an aside, both Hamilton and Rob Ray yesterday were very critical of some of the players in terms of attitude. Both said something to the effect "these guys hit tough times, they turtle and don't talk and get attitudes and are just general, overall arseholes" Any one with a clue who they might be referencing?
  6. I am in till i die!
  7. One way or the other, you need to find out if one of these guys can be a true #1 ...and like it not, you paid a #1 for Lehner and he is an RFA after this season...you best find out about him now. This season has ceased being about getting into the playoffs, and it is now about evaluations and who will be helping you next year. On my run this morning, was listening to Rob Ray from yesterday...taking about the Vanek offer sheet. I was all for matching back then too....but damn, what a mistake in hindsight. Edmonton still would have sucked, we would have had 8 #1 picks in 4 years...we prolly would have sucked too for a few years.....i cringe everytime i think about it!!!!
  8. I gave up after the one episode..will not be watching anymore
  9. only saw the 3rd and OT last night, plus the first few of the post game. Duffer had Risto at almost 35 minutes, and was on the ice for all 4 minutes plus of OT. Said a week or so ago, you can see his play starting to suffer a bit. BTW, heard Paul Hamilton yesterday, and he wants the Sabres to play Lehner like a real #1 this year, find out if he is capable. I tend to agree with him..this season is shot, start to evaluate. And if he is not, no contract and he's gots to go! While i am not 100% down on GMTM like 4mer, i am not sold either. Big test will be this trade deadline and offseason..if he gives big contracts to Kulikov and Lehner just because of the price he paid to get them...he gots to go too!
  10. you are a cheapskate
  11. and your point is???? hmm, interesting. Had a few last year that i thought were not great, thought maybe just me. Will get some today!
  12. I am hoping for some karma here. in my house, We have blamed the curse on my daughter being born in August 99...last time in playoffs for Bills! She is leaving the house in August to go to college..and going too...Denison!!!! That has to be a curse buster no?
  13. Should have just waited for Shannahan...
  14. Man, how times have changed. 2007 or so, remember almost sleeping out at the Total Wine for a six(limit) of these beers. Then waiting in line for tap party's. Now...eh, to many beers to worry about any one release. Is it just me? I think part of the reason is my taste has shifted to more Saison/Sour...
  15. Between seasons, travelling to Buffalo at least 4 times per year, hotels when there, eating a bunch of tickets for family etc , i would say at least $ 5,000 per year just for home games. I would say conservatively at least another $2K per year to travel to games...but not quite sure how to total that. I mean we spent a buttload in New Orleans, but most of that spend had zero to do with the Bills game. BTW, do lost wagers count?
  16. The Anova rig was $99 when I bought it...how much cheaper you want for perfect food? Christ, spent almost that much for the movies last week for two of us...
  17. JohnC thinks nuts to trade him now...i say for any kind of top level D prospect, he's gots to go!
  18. This from Scott Burnside of ESPN: It has been a pretty messy season for the Buffalo Sabres. It's clear this team, currently 15th in the Eastern Conference, isn't anywhere near as good as many of us believed it might be. Which leads us to Evander Kane. The 25-year-old has played only 32 games but is second on the team with 11 goals, so teams will be interested if Kane's in play. His off-ice issues have been well-documented, but could the Sabres afford to part with the skilled forward if there was a blue-chip defensive prospect in return? GM Tim Murray isn't afraid of the big deal and this might be the time to revisit dealing Kane, who would be a nice fit in his hometown of Vancouver. From Burnsides keystrokes to Gods' ears!
  19. Thank you...forgot about Cody Mac and Franson.
  20. I guess they have Kulikov and Gionta coming off contract, but still will have to buy out Moulson or Gorges. Then they have to be thinking Sam and Jack are going to need new deals for 18/19 and beyond...just don't see the room to sign a "name" without money going out. Kane does expire after 17/18 though. Losing BOGO in the expansion draft would be a godsend.... The Leafs were able to trade Clarkson and Phaneuf contracts...any chance we got of offloading Gorges, Bogo and Moulson at the deadline? No matter what the return at the deadline, and even if the Sabres need to retain some salary!
  21. hard to find cause it kinda sucks ( bobbing and weaving the bricks being thrown a me)
  22. I would not like to get rid of him either...but something has to give to get a bona fide top 4 for next year. For the anti-Lehner crowd, this is a good article. I Like Davis, seems like a sharp guy every time I read him. I am neutral on the guy(why i hate the trade) , but this is one side i guess. http://kuklaskorner.com/tso/comments/lehner-trade-hasnt-worked-out
  23. As someone else mentioned, turning a bit into a cooking thread...sooo Been trying to eat a tad healthier in the new year and came across this recipe for brown rice.I love white Basmati, typically hate brown due to texture. This recipe actually gives you nice, fluffy, brown rice. Still not much flavour without the green Habanero hot sauce I put on it, but I guess healthier than the white. Have made it 3 times now, perfect every time. http://www.saveur.com/perfect-brown-rice-recipe
  24. That guy keeps going bust...but it is generally great value compared to the typical steak house. But declaring bankruptcy two times in two years...you best get your visits in! http://patch.com/virginia/arlington-va/rays-steaks-parent-company-files-bankrupty-again-report
