  1. It's a shame you only read to that line.
  2. I'll preface this by saying that it is a damn shame that Moulds will be leaving (if that is the case). He was a great Bill, not without his flaws, but great nonetheless. If he is indeed gone, then I will say that I would like to see the Bills take a shot at Maurice Stovall. I hated on him for 3 years at ND because he was a disappointment and honestly was not a good WR. He couldn't catch with his hands and he ran sloppy routes. But something changed last year, and while Weis's offense probably had a lot to do with it, Stovall moved to another level by himself. He became a much better route runner, his field awareness was great and he learned how to catch the ball without using his chest. Positives: -Measurables: He is 6'5" and can jump pretty well. Skyed over dozens of DBs last year and made incredible catches. Plus while not fast, moves well for a big man, nice long strides and not so easy to take down. -Run blocking: Not only is he extremely physical and willing, he is also a smart blocker. He seems to have a good awareness in the open field and often picked the perfect defender to block off. Plus as I mentioned, at 6'5" 220ish, he can take on pretty much any DB with relative ease. He took down multiple DBs several times last year. Negatives: -Polish: Still very raw. Not the best route runner yet, but improving. Still makes some easy drops. -Wildcard: Only played at a high level for one complete season. Mere flashes for first 3. Was it a fluke? How much of it was Weis's schemes? How much was Brady Quinn? I am not sure he will make it out of the 2nd round, but if he does, I would love us to use one of our 3rds. Maybe even if possible trade up into the mid-late 2nd if it looks like he is gonna go. I am really set on using our 1st and 2nd on the trenches, but after that he would be a great pickup IMO.
  3. IMO, we don't take Davis because we don't know what he have at TE. Kevin Everett might be a star in the making, he might never recover from the injury and he might have just sucked anyway. So we don't know if TE is a strength or a weakness for this team. However, we DO that OL and DL are major holes. So I just gotta believe that you focus on that. You fix what you know is broke, not what might be...
  4. I saw him play once...Fiesta Bowl. He dominated and easily made one of the nation's best offensive lines look stupid at times. Something like 11 tackles...2 sacks. Big time players make big time plays....i'm sold.
  5. very disturbing. but hilarious too... Scare your kid
  6. While I agree that he 'wastes' his time on a lot of dumb sh--, if you think that those topics represent the brunt of his work, then you haven't listened to very much of him. There is something very strange between him and his wife and I guess he has a compulsion to get it out all the time. The Ja/Benzino thing was short lived and the lawsuits were covered in a few songs. As far as the insults, that's his style. If he didn't do that, then he probably wouldn't be very entertaining to listen to. I agree very much about Rza and MK. In fact I would go so far as to say that almost every member of the Wu-Tang Clan is a very good rapper except ODB. Agreed. He was funny. And entertaining.
  7. BINGO. No mainstream rapper (currently breathing) is on par with Eminem in terms of lyrical talent. There are some who may be better (matter of taste) but tend to be more poetic with their lyrics. I love Mos Def and Talib Kweli and Common and a bunch more like them, but after awhile I feel like I'm listening to some slam poetry show. It's good sh--, but it's not always my bag baby. I just don't think anyone else can bring words together the way he does, and at the same time still rap about funny, entertaining and serious stuff. Plus if you have heard any of his freestyles......shiiiit.
  8. I also have not seen enough of him to give a great opinion. I will disagree slightly because I am not spooked by the ACL injury. I dont think he is going to be one of these Ted Wash, Gilbert Brown types who are listed at 350 and are closer to 380. Therefore, the injury doesn't scare me as much. But that is pure speculation. The reason I would like to draft him (and I would definitely take D'Brick over him) is that he really will fill a hole. I like the idea of Huff and Hawk (though I'm sure Hawk will be gone), but I am just so focused on building the trenches that I almost don't want to hear about anything other than OL or DL with that 1st (and probably 2nd) pick. I just feel that if we could grab him in the first, and a nice guard in the second, it would just help this team so much. So I am not adamantly disagreeing with you, just offering why I would be excited to see him.
  9. That was my gut reaction too. I just couldn't tell if he crossed or not. But I tend to think that he was NOT offsides, because on the very next play, he got off early again. I think he nailed Hasselbeck's count. But it was very close either way IMO. Hold was BS though...even more Fd up if he was offsides to begin with.
  10. I think the most damaging was the hold after Stevens' catch. That started the chain of events that drove the game out of hand. They have 1st and goal from the 1 if that doesn't happen. They almost certainly get 7 out of it. But then two plays later, Hassel throws the pick. Then the ridiculous penalty on the return. 4 plays later it is 21-10. No holding call there, and it is probably 17-14 Seattle.
  11. OK, so they cut away from the ND-Louisville basketball game just as UL puts it into OT with a big 3. I can live with that. But then after they announce the HOF inductees (which took 5 minutes from some reason), Rich Eisen gets BACK on the mic and keeps blabbing. What can you POSSIBLY add to this announcement??? They announced the class...thats all folks. Put the OT game back on!!!! jesus
  12. Very good analysis. However, the end of the article, the Q&A with Bob Davie was puzzling. I didnt think he knew anything about screen passes. I'm pretty sure his offensive expertise is limited to "DRAW PLAY....REPEAT" Learn something new everyday...
  13. Probably some wings....going to try to make some chili. Lots of beer. Also, Jack in Syracuse posted this dip recipe last year for the Super Bowl. I gave it a shot and I think it is phenomenal. Jack, you and your buddy, big ups on that. Here was his post:
  14. I like NDs class a lot. Got a pair of good QBs to battle out to be Brady's potential successor, got a top OL, RB and CB (which we sorely need). I'm a little miffed about the lack of WRs though. I don't know if we didn't go after the top guys or what but it would seem Charlie's offense is a WR's dream. A wide open, pro scheme with a great coach who has countless NFL connections. We shall see how it all turns out.
  15. mmm-hmmm. I also wonder how they come up with that rating. What do the categories mean? As long as they got it right...
  16. Bring it home for Jerome! Thunder --- #6
  17. Isn't that supposed to be (D) SF v. Denver?
  18. Agree about Lindell, but I will stand by my claim for Moorman. He may have had a few more "wow" kicks in 2004 and his success was noted better because we were actually winning games, but statistically speaking, 2005 was easily his best year. -------------2004----------2005----------Diff Avg.--------43.2--------------45.7-------------2.5 <20%------22.1--------------31.0-------------8.9 Ret. avg.---8.5---------------6.8---------------1.7 NET---------39.1--------------41.6-------------2.5 So he solidly improved in the 4 major categories AND all of those averages were career highs. Additionally, he led the NFL in AVG. and NET, something he has never done in either. Moorman Career Stats Whether or not Schneck helped, I can't be sure. But regardless, Lindell's improvement speaks for itself and because of it I tend to think his rapport with Moorman may have been beneficial.
  19. Just reduced your stuff to save space. First off, I hope my questions didn't come off as argumentative. I was just trying to understand. I completely agree that we should have the best player out there, and at no time was I questioning your loyalty to the team or any of it's players. I guess where we disagree is that I believe there are times when you should put in perhaps the 2nd best player in order to make him better. I agree that players should get better on the practice field, but I do not believe that they can reach their potential through that route alone. I think rookies and young players need to get into the game and experience real NFL action and that will make them better in ways practice cannot. Thats just my opinion. I look at the situation with the Giants two years ago re: Eli vs. Warner. Kurt Warner was the better QB on the roster that year. He led them to a pretty good start, and while he stumbled, their playoff hopes were not completely crushed when Coughlin made the switch. They would have won more games with Warner, and Eli was not half the QB Kurt was at that point. But I think (and obviously there is no way to prove this) that Eli is a better QB now because he played then.
  20. I agree with a lot of what you say, but I have to ask you these questions: Do you think Losman can reach the full extent of his upside while on the bench? How long are you willing to let him sit there? Do you think Kelly Holcomb can lead this team to a Super Bowl victory next year? I am all for the best player playing, but if the best player has already peaked, and his peak isn't good enough....isn't that just an exercise in futility?
  21. While that wasn't directed as me, I'll steal the question real quick because I am noticing a strange trend. Usually every homer with a top 10 team is falling over himself to proclaim his squad as #1. This year seems strangely different. No one seems to want to give their own team enough credit for the top spot. I mean I could make the argument that Notre Dame is the best team in the country, but I don't think I really believe that. We lost two weapons on offense and our defense was shaky at best last year. In this very thread fans of Ohio St. and LSU are saying the same things, to a degree. There doesn't seem to be any one dominant force in college football for next year since Vince declared. I refuse to believe that a West Virginia is the nation's best team, but since I have eliminated my Irish and I have heard similar statements from LSU and OSU fans, I wonder who really is the best. Could be a very interesting season next year...
  22. I know it's been mentioned a bit, but way to go Mike! People can make fun of the fact that he is just a long snapper, but it is what it is: a Probowl selection. I think this achievement is more than an afterthought. It's funny how dazzled everyone was that we had a professional magician as our long snapper who could get the ball back to the punter in record time. Turns out he wasn't that great, and his unknown replacement perhaps added serious value to an already stellar special teams unit. Moorman had his best year and finally got the recognition he deserved Lindell pulled a serious 180 and for awhile was the AFC Probowl favorite. Admist all the problems this team has right now, it is great to stop and notice the good things as they happen. We have an elite special teams squad led by a great coach. Two probowl players and at least one other (McGee) who probably should have joined the bunch. Whatever else is going on with the offense, defense, coaching staff, front office, crazy owner, etc., sometimes it's just good to check out the positives. Go Schneck, enjoy Honolulu.
  23. Because unfortunately Sean suffers from two very serious ailments: stupid and crazy.
  24. FWIW, Pat Forde updated his list after the junior declarations. WVU #1......can't see it. Link
