  1. Oh thats the sound of ESPN making their frontpage news story about Barry Bonds hitting the homerun BEFORE the one that will tie Babe. This is ridiculous. Do we need to report everything that happens leading up to a record now? If you start celebrating/commemorating before the actual event takes place, it kind of takes the fun out of actually breaking the record. I especially liked this little excerpt from the article: Bonds: HR 713 by the numbers • 450 feet long • 423rd solo HR (Four of his five HR have been solo this year) • 120th HR in the month of May • 102nd HR on a Sunday • 62nd career HR vs. Phillies • 29th career HR in the city of Philadelphia • Fourth career HR vs Jon Lieber • Second career HR at Citizens Bank Park Is all that info necessary for a homerun that doesn't mean anything? This is not news Perhaps they can tell us what Barry ate for his pre-game snack before he hit #713. I know I'd be especially interested to know what music was playing on his iPod during batting practice.
  2. Just put $100 on ND championship/Brady Quinn Heisman parlay. Pays 30 to 1. It is obviously a reacher, but odds are, one wont happen without the other. Wish me luck...(unless you are a Blue or Condom fan...in that case K.M.A )
  3. BS...I'm not gonna blame Favre on this one. People act like Brett has all the power to do whatever he wants. He doesn't. This situation could be solved in an instant if the Packers FO decided to sac up and tell Favre he is no longer in their plans. It is unbelievable (to me) that people think the Packers have to "put up with his indecision." They don't. If he is indeed hurting the team rather than helping by playing every Sunday, than this shouldn't even be an issue. Tell him thanks for the memories, good luck on the golf course or with another team. Furthermore, I don't fault Brett for wanting to keep playing. This whole "know when your time is up sh--" is ridiculous to me. He wants to keep playing...power to him. It is not up to him if he can he keep playing. And on a side note - I understand the Packers organization is caught in a tough sport because getting rid of a legend never goes over very well with the fans. But see how long the cheeseheads line up behing Brett if/when the Pack pick in the top 5 again next April.
  4. I remember...everything about that sucked. That BC game basically gift-wrapped Glenn Foley's sad NFL career. It was such a letdown too. I honestly think though that if we had come out and dominated A&M in the Cotton Bowl, that we would have gotten the title. The 7 pt victory did us in.
  5. Why are they going to be so angry? Already anticipating the beatdown in South Bend this fall?
  6. Well put. If we could draft a double-digit sack DE, an mid-to-upper echelon offense lineman, and a Probowler for both offense and defense every April, I think we would be okay...
  7. In a world of crazy ass parents who push their kids to be superstars, only to have them meltdown or become incredible @ssholes.....it seems like Earl did right. RIP

  9. The best thing to happen to Ron Powlus was when he broke his collarbone. In his absense, Kevin McDougal got to start and led us to our NATL title run in 93-94. HE was fun to watch. Powlus....
  10. Bit of deja vu re: the whole McGahee/Kelsay thing huh? It WAS a good point....but Mort was already on a roll. Wasn't gonna let Kiper stop his tantrum.
  11. I like how he added "No matter what anyone else says." Pull the string Mort...
  12. Is he still yammering on? Give it a rest.
  13. I like our moves. I agree that we got a couple raw, unpolished players with room to improve. The ceiling for guys like Youboty and Simpson are probably much higher than any other players picked around the same time. If we are confident that our coaches can bring them to the next level, then we really could have gotten some serious steals.
  14. My buddy got a few tickets to the Eagles draft party at their stadium. I do enjoy just sitting on my ass in the comfort of my own home all weekend watching the draft, but since I've done that for the past 15 years or so, I figured a little change couldn't hurt. So I will be proudly wearing my McGahee throwback while I march into the heart of the dumbasses. Over/under on Flyers comments is being set at 600. Place your bets now. GO BILLS!!!! Draft someone worth a sh-- please, thats all I ask.
  15. I remember all those articles. Lots of speculation...Lot's of "could be" and "possibility." Yet when it came time to lay their money down, find me mock draft with Reggie not #1.
  16. First thing I thought of when I saw this thread. Now yous can't leave.....DAMN what a bad MF. One of my favorite movies
  17. ...it's that we have been shown for the 9,999,999th time that all these experts DON'T KNOW SH*T Dozens of inside sources, hundreds of "league contacts", thousands of hours of watching film and countless articles that pass around the same tired rumors like Tara Reid at a frat party. And what is the end result? I mean these guys are so ambiguous about everything that they can basically claim to be right no matter what happens. They usually cover their asses better than Scott Peterson during shower time. And yet everyone whiffs on the NUMBER ONE draft pick. I don't care if it was a surprise...that's what "inside sources" are for....to get information that other people (us) don't know. So here's to you Mr. Sports Analyst Reporter Guy. Inspiration to us all that making a high six figure salary and not being held accountable for anything are not mutually exclusive. Cheers!
  18. But wait, he didnt go back in during the Miami game.... 10 years of plays like that don't mean anything...
  19. Translation: He has watched hours worth of games that they have played in. Rose Bowl, OSU v. UT, ND v. USC, etc... The guy brags about watching "hours and hours" of film more than any other analyst. You would think though with his huge lead in this department that he would occasionally be right...
