  1. Pittman and Gonzalez I know this is somewhat old news, but where do Bucks fans see these guys going? I loved what I saw of Pittman but I figured he could use another year. Are these guys all bolting because they are afraid the offense will be sht without Troy and Teddy?
  2. You can see it here: Just click on the video highlight. Not the best placement by the shooter, but damn what a recovery by Miller. Pretty fckin sweet
  3. If you are a conspiracy-theorist, then take solace in the fact that there is one team very much alive in these playoffs that the NFL (and country) wants to win the Super Bowl more than anyone: The New Orleans Saints. One win against a fading Bears squad who believes nothing in their QB and you have a sports story that has probably already been sold for a made-for-TV movie. A New Orleans team winning a championship in their first season back home would be a media/$$$ fest that would make even ESPN abandon the Holy Trinity (Brady/Belicheck/Bruschi). So don't fret. If the Saints make it to XLI, I wouldn't worry about calls going against them.
  4. I don't see the Chargers as this great wealth of talent that others do. I see a few superstars combined with a very solid defense and several holes. Their defensive backfield does nothing for me and their receiving corp is below average without Gates. They have a lot of talent, no doubt, but Marty did a great job to get them to 14-2. In fact, this loss really wasn't that devastating in my opinion. This was not one of his 13-3 KC teams who would get clobbered by some 5 seed. San Diego had quite a few defensive injuries and he lost to one of the 5 best teams in the NFL with the best coaching staff. Plus he was working with an inexperienced QB vs. Joe Montana II. Marty sticks, and the Chargers are better next year...
  5. For sure, this was near the bottom of Marty's list of playoff blunders...however the challenge on the INT/Fumble was an obvious waste of time and that timeout may have been the difference between a 54 yard FG and a 45. But you're right, SD collectively lost this game beginning with the WR corp. (yes, you Eric Parker...fall on the fcking ball). I just meant that I thought the balance of the universe was in jeopardy when I saw Marty Schottenheimer make a minor gamble in a playoff game. I thought about calling my loved ones to say goodbye.
  6. Honestly though, I got really nervous when Marty went for it on 4th down TWICE in the first 20 minutes of play. I was counting on his testicles taking their usual playoff vacation back inside his body and when I saw he was willing to lay it on the line, I thought for a second he had learned his from his mistakes. I literally coughed up my food when Rivers stayed out there on the second 4th down. But some things never change...
  7. I don't know who they will cast as the lead, but if they are looking for a Ms. Pac-Man, then Julia definitely has it in the bag. Ms. Pac-Man Roberts
  8. Oh no doubt...I saw the +5 and took the straight up. I didn't mean that they should have won by more given the circumstances...I too feel that I ended up falling ass backwards into a win. What I meant was that the way the Chargers were unloading entire clips into their feet, Tom Brady sure made it closer than it should have been. Normally you give the Patriots those types of turnovers and mistakes and you lose by 20.
  9. So you admittingly have no idea at what or why LT was upset after the game but you have lost respect for him? Lucid.
  10. I'm astonished that so many people thought SD would win this game. "Rookie" QB + The Worst Playoff Coach of the Modern Era + Best Coached Opponent in the NFL = Ea$y money Granted it wasn't as easy as I thought...I figured SD (mainly Rivers) would make the mistakes they did, but I didn't expect Brady to play like dogsht for three quarters. Could he not hit a WR in stride until like 8pm or what? NE should have taken this by 14.
  11. Fair enough...I agree that TE would never be an option. I'm curious to see his combine numbers, but I've seen slower WRs succeed in this league.
  12. I'm curious...how so? Mike Williams was a 2 year football player who sat out an entire season before his rookie year....I think that more than else led to his demise.
  13. And you do realize that this thing called the "sun" hasn't got a chance to heat up Dublin, CA for 3 extra hours yet...
  14. Yeah, you know if we didn't already have a bona fide #1 WR who was a small burner type, than JS wouldn't be nearly as tempting in my eyes. He just seems like the perfect compliment. And while it would be nice to have the next Roy Williams opposite Lee, we don't necessarily need that and I'd would rather take a safer pick and sacrifice potential. I would never touch Ginn and Jarett's inconsistency scares me although he does seem to be peaking at the right time. Don't know much about Baker besides hearing his name and seeing an occasional highlight...and I can't remember the last time we took a Gator.
  15. It's 54 in Northern Delaware with a high of 57. Average high is normally 41. Who knows if it's GW....but I'm not complaining.
  16. He's pretty physical and he is 6'5". He strides real well and I think he will be able to use whatever speed he has in combination with his size to get excellent position on NFL DBs. He will never be the guy that you just call a go pattern for off the snap and hope that he will straight out run past a DB and Safety. But he is fast enough that he can create his own space and smart enough to run disciplined routes and find soft spots in coverage. And he is a beast to bring down. But then gain, Mo Stovall did a lot of this at ND last year and he didn't even contribute to the Bucs after being I believe a late 2nd round pick. Samardzija has a much better tool set and is a more intelligent WR however. I honestly don't know how he will perform in the NFL. I have my beefs with him as he seems to disappear at times. But I will say this, I'd say he has a better chance to be a productive #1 or #2 WR than any other WR in this draft. I know that doesn't sound good because everyone wants to draft Randy Moss or Jerry Rice in the first round. But in this day of R. Jay Sowards and Reggie Williams' and several other WRs who can barely even contribute consistently, I'd say Shark is a pretty safe pick. Less chance to be a superstar than CJ, Jarrett, Ginn, Rice and Meachem, but less bust potential than any of them I'd think.
  17. I'm starting to dig Patrick Willis so I'm down with #3. And also, with regards to #1, Ryan Harris (from ND) is a LT...not a MLB. And ND doesn't have any MLB prospects....
  18. Surprising, but actually a pretty good move on his part. He was a very good, but not great college RB who lacked speed to be a true threat. His pass catching ability and uncanny vision (seriously, the dude saw the field better than any college back I've ever seen) could get him a good job as a 3rd down back somewhere. I don't see him being more than a 3rd round pick though. Will hurt ND next year, but it will just force the young guns to hit the ground running as Clausen and Co. prepare for our back-to-back-to-back NATL title run in 2008.
  19. No doubt. I was sitting next to him at the bar down in New Orleans and he was pulling this ridiculously hot chick. Money talks. You've obviously seen a lot of him...
  20. Nothing like good old fashioned unwavering loyalty...
  21. Jesus, I hate defending Brady because I've never been a huge fan either, but this is ridiculous. You want to see over-hyped QBs? See Smith, Troy and Russell, Jamarcus. Where is all the crying about Troy Smith after Mr. Heisman and the BEST team in the nation got clobbered? All of a sudden Jamarcus Russell is going to be the next great QB because his series of ugly lob passes beat a Notre Dame defensive backfield that matches up poorly with most D-IAA schools? Please, Brady is what he is...the best player on an above-average talented college football team and most likely the best QB prospect of this draft. He can't make all the throws, but he can make them better than every QB in this draft save Brian Brohm. What are these combine failures that you are anticipating?
  22. Classy Tough break, Bucks....welcome to the 41-14 club. Though to me, the real loser is the BCS and NCAA scheduling system. If you want a true barometer of the quality of college football teams, you look at how they are all playing late in the season. Ohio State had their flaws, but they were playing more solid football than anyone in the country. Then comes a 60 day nap. Meanwhile, Florida plays TWO more games and gains momentum. This is obviously no one's fault (save the NCAA and Ohio State scheduling committees) and it does not take away from Florida's glory. I just find it sad that the NCAA stubbornly clings to a system that not only doesn't always put the two best teams on the field, but potentially creates an uneven playing field. I mean, there is no way that this disaster of a game occurs if it was played two weeks after the Buckeyes beat Michigan. My two cents anyway... But congratulations Florida. As much as I hate the Gators and Urban Meyer for dissing us, they certainly showed that they wanted this game more. Flawless gameplanning and near perfect execution. Plus Chris Leak managed to play like a champion in a big game the first time since...? Congratulations.
