  1. Does anyone else love this incredible Asian hot sauce like I do? For years I've been trying to convince people how great it is but I'm usually met with a lukewarm response. Then yesterday I was eating out and I asked the waitress if they had any and she launched into this whole thing about how incredible it is and how she puts it on everything. I mean, I'll slop it on sushi, rice, eggs, pizza, chicken, sandwiches, styrofoam, etc. It's off the chains. (For those who don't even know what I'm rambling about....I mean this stuff)
  2. So Scotty is the Bills "All-time leading scorer" eh? Sorry Steve...you've been bumped.
  3. Where's #24 going? If Brown (or anyone else) is worth being the future at SG, they will be long gone before Kobe...
  4. My dad had one done several months ago and it was concluded that he suffered from sleep apnea. The choices were the mask or surgery. He said no way in hell he was going to wear that ridiculous mask every night for the rest of his life. So he elected for the surgery. They cut out his uvula (and I believe something else). Anyway, several months later he complains that this throat still feels scratchy and uncomfortable (like the sutures are still there) and he has lost some of his sense of smell and taste. And on top of all that, he doesn't feel much more refreshed in the morning like he thought he would. So I don't know if his case is the norm or an exception, but I'd avoid the surgery if you have the option. My two cents anyway...
  5. There probably isn't a Rhodes scholar in the group, and a good majority of them probably flirted their way through high school, but they aren't all retards. My friend who was in it this year ain't a brainiac, but she's quick...not a ditz. The girl who was Miss Delaware last year isn't stupid either. If the question was something along the lines of "One train is leaving NY going 85 MPH...." then I'm sure none on them would have the slightest clue. But just because they aren't IVY leaguers doesn't mean they don't understand the consequences of they are saying. If anything, they probably have more experience speaking diplomatically and trying to give a good answer than you do. It's part of the game. Miss California knew what she was getting into. You can be stupid (and I'm not saying she is) and still understand that you are about to damage your reputation in a certain context by saying something unpopular. It's not like she thought everyone would applaud her opinion.
  6. Noted. I'll take the empties to the recycling spot after work. And congrats on 26 years...if you make it through this month.
  7. Shiit...I've been married for six weeks. And I don't know what the score is, but I think I'm losing. I've been developing this annoying habit of answering my phone on the way home from work even though I know it means she wants me to stop and get something. And yesterday she tricked me by asking if I wanted pizza for dinner and then going to take a bath so when the delivery guy showed up, my wallet was the one that got lighter. I need to turn this thing around...the beer bottle info is a good start.
  8. Not every way...Bradford/Andrews/Tebow Chat
  9. When Kate was eliminated I mentioned something about switching to the the basketball game and I could actually see my wife's knuckles whiten as she tightened her grip on the remote. I had a chance a little later when she relaxed her guard and put it down on the coffee table, but again, lay-z-boy, beer....it just wasn't in the cards.
  10. He is. He is pretty much considered 1b to Chris Paul's 1a.
  11. Ugghhh...I can't believe I'm about to admit this, but I watched the pageant. An old friend of mine (my wife's best friend from high school) is Miss Delaware so we checked it out. Of course, our friend didn't make the initial cut so I should have left then, but I was already in the lay-z-boy with a beer so getting up wasn't really high on my list. Regarding Miss California, first off I'm glad she finished 2nd because I think North Carolina was hotter. QED... But about her answer, it was obvious right away that she flushed her chance of winning down the toilet the moment she finished speaking. She gave an opinion which I completely disagree with, but I respect her so much more for saying it. She could have bit her tongue and avoided the question with a complete non-answer or she could have lied to be more diplomatic. But she stood her ground and gave an unpopular answer to a polarizing question. I've known a few pageant girls and often this consumes their lives. This chick probably worked for years to win her state and finally make it to the big show. Then she gets down to the final few and knowingly throws it all away so that she could stick to her convictions and maintain some integrity. Good for her. And for those of you who think she gave a stupid, thoughtless answer...it might not have been worded too well, but it was probably the best answer of the whole group (sad..I know). Check out Miss Arizona's answer...it might be worse than that chick a few years ago rambling about Iraq or whatever. Q: Do you think that the US should have universal health care as a right of citizenship? Why or why not? A: You know what I think this is an issue of integrity regardless of which end of the political spectrum I stand on. I've been raised in a family to know right from wrong and politics whether or not you fall in the middle, the left or the right it's an issue of integrity whatever your opinion is. And I say that with the utmost conviction. Che?
  12. Agreed...and I could be being harsh on Noah. I just can't believe the Bulls would break the huddle with any defense assignment that didn't involve keeping Allen on lockdown no matter what. Noah will learn from that though...I think. I'll be curious to see how Chicago comes out in Game 3. I really think they will need to win both home games to win this series.
  13. The new Players Association President begins his career with a holdout?? The owners must be thrilled about how future negotiations regarding rookie salary limits will go. They should refuse to sign him and force him to re-enter the draft next year....
  14. I agree it was executed very well, but I disagree about Noah. Salmons completely locked off Pierce as he came through the lane (and Noah wasn't looking to help there at all anyway...he was looking the opposite direction at Rondo). Davis down-screened for Allen and Noah left the key to follow Davis. It was only for a second, but that was a pretty obvious switch IMO. The ball definitely wasn't going to to Davis and you had Allen coming hard back to the wing. It was a great shot by Ray Ray, but if Noah stays home, he never gets it off. Poor defense by Noah...only took a split second and a great shot still had to be made...but poor decision nonetheless.
  15. Well said. I believe a great QB can make any coach look better, but it's a great coach that will consistently produce a winning team (with rotating talent). If I had to choose between Joe Gibbs and John Elway, I choose Gibbs every time. Years ago in the midst of the the Super Bowl run (I must have been 9 or 10), I had the nerve to question my dad on whether Marv was capable of winning the big one and if we should get a new coach. He told me (and I'm paraphrasing): "Everything sucks when you have a bad coach. Even if you have a few great players, you might win some battles, get into the playoffs, have a good year here and there. But eventually you will suck again. It's inevitable." I never appreciated the full force of that statement at the time since all I knew was Levy and the Super Bowl days. But every year I think about what he said and how painfully true it is. We ran our last decent coach out of town because he gave up in Week 15 one year and didn't wear a headset. And it has been nothing but steady misery (with the occasional tease) ever since. I tell this to all my friends here who are Eagles fans. Most of them would love nothing more than to see Reid and McNabb tarred and feathered tomorrow. I tell them when you have a good coach (AND a good QB), you ride them out. Because 99 times out of 100, you will need both to win a championship. And if you get rid of them, you just might spend the next decade still looking for your next....
  16. I agree great setup, but what was Noah thinking fading Davis to the corner?? Everyone in the building knew Allen was getting that last shot and yet he leaves the key to follow a PF away from the basket?? Bigtime shot though... As for the overall picture, I hate to pick the favorites, but I don't see anyone giving LA or Cleveland any real static. If Orlando can settle down and get by my Sixers (very likely), they might give the Cavs a little push. And the Lakers are just too powerful with Bynum back in the lineup. Two legit 7-footers and the best scorer in the game coached by one of the all-time greats. Not to mention probably the deepest team in the league (although their bench has been suspect as of late). LAL over CLE in 7 (but I think LA's 4 wins will be more convincing than Cleveland's 3...if that makes sense).
  17. It took me a minute, but I see it now. Hilarious description!
  18. I was actually wondering when the Bengals became a lock... Disgusting.
  19. E-filed a few weeks ago. One more year of that sweet, precious Lifetime Learning Credit.
  20. Holy shite....takes a lot to wipe that smug look off Cowell's face. Good for her!! Well done, Susan.
  21. The video is hilarious...Em always makes ridiculous and funny videos. In a genre where every video is just throwing bills and popping bottles, it's always refreshing to see Shady and his willingness to look like an idiot for comedy. However, this is another pretty average pop single...I'm hoping it's not indicative of his album. Because God knows rap could use an infusion of talent right now. If this and Detox are up to par, I'll be thrilled.
  22. I think this can be explained through a few theories... 1. As RK mentioned, the "grass is greener" and "surface appeal." 2. In my experience, for younger people socialism doesn't carry the historical stigma is does for older adults. Every generation has their experience-based biases. Communism (and therefore socialism) is likely considered completely abhorrent by many older adults who lived through the height our our country's war against it. By the time I became aware of anything besides my Ninja Turtles, the USSR had fallen. Just as this generation will probably develop stronger anti-Islamic slants (on the whole) than those past, I never lived in a world where calling someone a communist was akin to branding them a traitor. 3. Things suck right now. Capitalism's popularity will take a natural hit as 401ks tank, banks need billions and our economy takes a beating. Re-do this poll in a couple years (or a couple years ago) and I'd say the results are much different. JMO...
