  1. Continuing the crow eating theme of today's series of dredged up laugher posts, I thought it might be therapeutic to name one or more things we were all wrong about (hey I'm a Psych major). I know we are all football experts/Gods, but there must have been one time you just straight whiffed like ND finding a coach. I'll start this party..... 1.) I thought Ryan Leaf would be better than Peyton Manning (holy sh-- did I miss there). 2.) I thought Tom Brady would fail in NE. (Not exactly fail, but definitely not win another SB and lead a dynasty in the making). 3.) I thought Rob Johnson would be a probowler. I've made some good calls in my time, but daaaamn, those 3 speak for themselves.
  2. Jeeeez, I remember that now. The first time I thought he was absolutely nutz.
  3. Forgot about LB depth....very true. We have none. Thank God there have been no injuries to our LBs (knock on wood). With TE I wouldn' be so quick to make a move here, unless we could nap a good one in FA. I think you give Euhus a little time to see if he can handle the job.
  4. Yes you are right. You can never have too much depth in the secondary. I just think I would want the exact same situation for O-line I think McNally is getting some great work out of our players, but there have been several injuries to our starters this year and it would be great to have some more talent to step in IMO (other than Lawrence Smith).
  5. I don't see this huge need for CB. It seems Baker is progressing quite nicely so I'm not ready to write him off quite yet. And when Vincent comes back, we will have a young, emerging CB at the nickel in McGee. I mean I can't think of a much better CB trio than Clements, Vincent and McGee. Unless you think Baker will not make it at FS and we will have to put Vincent there OR you are drafting Vincent's eventual replacement.
  6. I agree to a point. I remember what it was like around here after Week 2 last year. EVerything was perfect and if you had a single problem with the team, you were a whining B word. That, IMO, was just as bad as the negativity because you are dead on right, it was boring as hell. There were posts everyday about how great we were and that was it. BUUUUUTTT.....we ARE in the midst of the most excitement around Buffalo since 1999. When everyday the same person finds a new way to denigrate the team and downplay every positive aspect of our accomplishments, people get pissed.
  7. Double J!!! 3 scores and almost 2 bucks. Its too bad ND doesn't have any talent though
  8. It seems he won 2 of 3 as they were in bowls in 96-98 2 citrus bowl wins and 1 orange bowl loss http://search.netscape.com/ns/boomframe.js...wl-history.html
  9. Well smart@sses, too bad those werent the choices! Stay inside the lines!!!
  10. Since my fattest-TD poll went over so well, I thought I'd try again. A few weeks ago I would have said Steelers hands down, but I am changing my vote. This team better not look past Cleveland, but they have to be thinking about Cincy. Palmer is playing well and they are HUNGY for a playoff spot just like us. Big Ben keeps winning but in less convincing fashion each week (I know the last drive yesterday showed his mettle but he is beginning to get exposed). Plus, I'm sorry, I do NOT see the Steelers going 15-1 or a Rookie QB going 14-0. Man, at least its fun now! GO BILLS!!!!
  11. His intro to the Willis segment on Sunday was priceless
  12. Scott, maybe you could find out who logged in under ICE's name and posted a new thread about Drew. You know, since ICE was never gonna mention it again.....
  13. And bonus question....if I had told you that in 2 years, 2 players of the same position would return an INT for a TD....how many of you would have guessed the 800 lb tag team?
  14. I'm not trying to discount your opinion or your right to have one. But your edit puzzles me even more. Now you say IF HE WERE A GOOD QB, he should have torched the fins. Did he NOT torch the fins? I'd say what he layed on them was a pretty good hurtin. 4 TDs, 0 picks...So are you saying he is a good QB since he did torch the fins or are you saying that he did not torch the fins?
  15. I think we will have to agree to disagree. I think Brady brings more to the table than just being a drone for a team of geniuses. I think he makes excellent decisions, keeps his poise with the best of them, and knows how to manage a game better than almost anyone in the league. But believe me, it hurts to argue with you because I can't stand singing his praises
  16. I'd be torn, but mostly against it. There is no indication that Clements can be a great head coach, but he is doing quite well with our Bills. He was a NATL Champ QB here though....oh well, what a mess
  17. But you need a leader for that team. Why is it that the Pats were 0-2 with the same team that won the SB before Brady stepped in? Look all things being equal, if Peyton Manning played for the Pats with the same salary as Brady does now, I think they would be winning SBs. But right now, Tom Brady is the captain of the best ship in the fleet. Having a great team can get you a ring without a great leader, but you can't build a dynasty around an average QB.
  18. I agree with everything except this. You think this type of performance against one of the best pass defenses in the NFL is expected? Then you say that "any good QB would have torched the Fins", but somehow Bledsoe at his BEST can only be a servicable backup? So which is it? Is Bledsoe a good QB or could any servicable backup torch the Fins like this?
  19. Ya know I really don't like this TT guy very often, but the man is only stating facts. As Bills fans we bash Marino for having the records but never even sniffing the SB since 84. I love Drew and I hope he keeps playing this way for a long, long time. But there is a reason the pats won a SB in 2001, they had a QB who could run the game the way their coaches drew it up. Tom Brady probably is not as talented as Manning, but he manages the game better than any QB in the league today. Those two rings weren't handed to him. You can't just place any old QB who could get "lucky enough" to play for the Pats in the same situation and expect similar results. IF this was the case, Drew Bledsoe would be playing in NE still and he would have TWO SuperBowl rings (one of his own). I know it sucks to give them any credit, but the Pats are playing like the best team in the NFL right now and they have the best leader. Peyton Manning and his Powerball signing bonus would not allow the Pats to have the players they need to support Brady. Let Peyton win something other than a TD record....
  20. Man things are getting exciting!! I swear, even if things don't work out (knock on wood) I am still grateful that the Bills made this season interesting. It really was looking like 2001 all over again. Havin said that, here are my thoughts... *Let the Jets go. They aren't gonna lose out. I mean, of course anything is possible but I don't see it happening. *Ravens, Broncos, Jags.....THEY are now our competition. Damn how frustrating is the Jax catch now :I starred in Brokeback Mountain: . I know I'm probably just giddy from this recent run, and its nice to have some sports news to smile about after the debacle here at ND, but I think we got a real good shot. Cincy will test our mettle, thats for sure. GO BILLS BABY!!!!!
  21. If what he did today was "OK" or "DECENT" then, my friend, you have set the bar too high.
  22. I missed the game, again! But from the few I've seen recently and what I can gather from the rest, this coaching staff makes incredible half-time adjustments. Especially Jerry Grey. I mean we were getting ripped up in the first half by AJ "Pulled @ss muscle" Feeley and the sorry phins O. Then only 8 points in the second half??? I feel like this staff adjusts in ways even Levy and Co. could never figure out (see SB XXV). I see great things on the horizon for the Buffalo Bills.
  23. Damn penalty took away Cinncy TO...shiite.
  24. This thread is a gem. Very nice work Dante.
