  1. Do we want: A. A player who can mentor and calm JP during his rough patches but not necessarily step in and win? OR B. A player who may not be a good mentor, but if JP sputtered, could lead this team to the playoffs? Ok so we know there is a lot of talent on this team and we do have the the money to potentially upgrade some weak areas (OG). So are we gonna turn the team over to JP and let him ride with a "teacher" backup QB to help guide him. Or are we gonna try to hedge our bets and get someone as a fallback plan to lead this very good team if JP cannot? An example of A: -Fiedler (talentwise, nothing special but he plays the game very intelligently and he could teach JP a thing or two about the mental aspects of playing QB) An example of B: -Jeff Garcia maybe? Kurt Warner? (Could probably be starting but may not be willing or capable of being a backup/teacher as opposed to a player) I think Bledsoe would have been the best "B" choice but that is not an option anymore. thoughts?
  2. Just finished that game. Funny as hell and definitely addicting. Glad there was a good ending after so much....um....frustration. Larry has a kind of cool that never dies.
  3. But you wouldn't help Sue with her homework?? j/p
  4. I've never done it but I could see its appeal. It is unique and would probably be more special than the standard flowers/candy/chocolate/dinner. And besides when she asked you which one you could just point anywhere in the sky and be like "yeah its that one....the one near those other ones.."
  5. IF Flutie didn't turn the ball over 3 times (or was it 4? I forget) that game, we could have won. IF Andre Reed hadn't bumped the official at the goaline and gotten a 15 yd penalty, we would have gotten a TD instead of a FG and Flutie wouldn't have had to fumble away our last chance. IF we win, we still have to beat the SUPER BOWL CHAMPION Broncos AT DENVER if we wish to make the AFC Championship (since apparently to you that was next on the list if Moulds doesn't showboat). AND finally speaking of Moulds....9 Catches. 240 yds. Playoff record. I'm not gonna blame him for this one. IF, IF, IF... and since you are back to ND again, Weis spoke to the students at 5:30 this morning about the team. After hearing him, I am confident that we won't be talking about the past for much longer.
  6. That is interesting. I think it also speaks volumes of a GMs fear of picking a 1st rd QB bust. We use all these picks but actually only draft one QB of our own in Rd 1. In all fairness, I think TD may have pulled the trigger on Harrington had the Lions not.
  7. It's not the mere suggestion of Flutie returning that gets people on edge. That part just brings mild nausea. It's when you start making things up about Flutie to make him look better that reminds many of us here of the terrible rift his presence (along with RJs) caused among Bills fans. Saying things like: "If Moulds didn't showboat, we are in the AFC championship" reminds me (and probably many others) of both of the ridiculous lengths supporters of either player would go back in those days. I'm all for a veteran mentor, but the chapter on Doug Flutie should be closed.
  8. Too many chiefs, not enough indians. In fact, very few indians on that team worth a damn.
  9. Nothing you said in that sentence (or entire thread for that matter) has been true. possible exception: maybe you were at the Oilers game? half credit.
  10. ??? If you buy a BMW with 4 year financing and then in year 2 you decide you still like to drive but you'd rather drive a Honda, are you saying you should be allowed to tell the car dealership you don't want to pay for the rest of the BMW? YOU are accountable for your actions. If you can't afford to pay for something, then don't buy it.
  11. You are going for your masters? As diehard and exthusiastic as you have proved to be over time, you sit and wait for our QB of the future to fail??
  12. The question was AFC EAST. Yes he is. The rest of them do not command the respect or attention that Moulds does day in day out. Ask a DB who they fear/respect most in the East. Moulds has a rare speed/strength combo that is hard to stop. Its fugged up that Chambers and McCareins are in the running with him.
  13. Players. You want 10 mill a season when you can't sell out your arena and the league is losing 8 figures per year???? Grow up and join the rest of the real sports who have caps and run their leagues like legit businesses. The reason NHL ticket sales are down is because it has become like MLB. There are 6-8 teams competing for the cup every year and the rest of the league sucks hind tit. I'm with Stojan....go to Eastern Europe, get some sick @ss AAA level hockey players and start the league over again at lower price. Better than sitting on the loss for a whole year.
  14. A-f*ckin-men. I would have said your post word for word. He took 2 years minimum of Kelly's career. He is hands down the worst. Flutie? Peerless? Travis? At least those guys produced. The only thing Crafts produced was sacks.
  15. One of my roommates played a game during the Super Bowl where we drank everytime Collinsworth said something stupid. It was a rough Monday morning
  16. are we talking about RJ or JP?? Damn let the man start a game before you call for his head. At least the Bledsoe bashers waited for a 1.5 years.
  17. Banana republic? Nah I'm just kidding. I don't know about any specific stores (as in one chain that no black people go or something like that) but there are areas around where I live that have bars that black people just don't go. There are also bars up north the other direction, that white people just don't go. It's sad and disgusting. But anyone who thinks this is a one way street is extremely naive.
  18. I have read that they can be about a grand a piece but it does depend on the quality of the car. I've heard that the cost can go up to around 5,000 for some expensive, luxury cars.
  19. I feel like his career could have been amazing (statistically speaking) if he had just an ounce of QB stabilty and little bit of quality. I mean the poor guy has had such a collection of scrubs and disappointments throwing him the ball, not to mention an entire fleet of semi-retarded offensive co-ordinators. The QBs: -KELLY: No argument for quality, but it was at the end of Jimbo's career and Moulds really didn't know what he was doing. Grade: B- -TODD: Tim Couch before Tim Couch. Had the tools, but a shattered confidence. Grade: D -HOBERT: nm. Grade: F VAN PELT: Got more PT than anyone would have guessed during his time here. But never was a starting quality QB. College strength arm. Grade: C- FLUTIE: Most success. Breakout years were with Doug. They definitely had a rhythm going but Doug's shortcomings cost Eric numerous catches and TDs (see long ball). Grade: A- RJ: Moderately successful but RJ was RJ. Flashes here and there but the epitome of instability. Add Mike Sheppard as nice bonus to this equation. Grade: C+ DREW: It seemed like a match made in heaven in 2002, but it came crashing down. However, having Moulds as the #1, 2 and 3 option on every pass play helped his numbers. Still couldn't take advantage of Eric's skill: Grade: B- It just sucks. 6 QBs in less than a decade and none of them very good (yes even Jimbo was trailing off) or present for any extended amount of time. Every year he gets a new offensive scheme (almost always a bad one) and a new mediocre QB to get him the ball. Yes he complains, but he stayed in Buffalo once and he just made it happen again. I will always be an Eric Moulds fan.
  20. I am curious then JP, do you think that if the kind of attention each WR received was reversed (Moulds basically flying under the radar for most of the season but even when focused on, never given a double team and Evans facing the #1 CB each game and a hefty amount of double teams) that Evans would outperform Moulds? I just can't see it.
  21. my two cents: -Moulds is still the best WR on this team. PERIOD. How many double teams did he fight through this year while Evans was left 1-on-1 for a huge gain against some slower, outmatched CB? Conversely, how many times was Evans double teamed? Get rid of Moulds, and watch Evans pull a Peerless. He's better than Price, but he is not ready, IMO. -IF you really want to start a very green QB next year in Losman, I think you want to surround him with all the weapons you can get him. Moulds will bring him security and help his confidence tremendously. Plus, Evans can still stand to learn a lot about being a WR from Moulds. -I don't think he is overpriced, but even if he was, you keep him for the time being. This team has playoff talent, no doubt, and getting rid of our most experienced, and arguably most dangerous offense weapon is only going to set things back.
  22. I agree with the veteran part, but you don't think they will give Henson a shot for QB of the future?
  23. Sweet win tonight...very good game if anyone was watching. Now if only we knew how to avoid choking our life away vs. Cuse, we'd be sitting pretty in the Big East.
