The coolest IMAX I ever saw was the Michael Jordan one. Just makes me wanna watch clips of him all day long. But about the simpsons...during my freshman year at ND (spring 2002), Nancy Cartwright came and spoke and I got tickets to see her. It was really cool. She did entire conversations back and forth between like Bart and Nelson and the Flanders boys. But anyway, she spoke about them signing a contract (or being close to one) for a movie then...she even mentioned the possibility of a 2-3 movie deal. It's amazing how long these things take to get into motion.

I don't know when you ordered your stuff, but I ordered mine on June 1st before the link was taken away. That was 3 days before the official release. Plus I live about twice as close to Buffalo as you do. It was supposed to arrive today and I hear the UPS truck come up the driveway. So I go out there to get the package from him and he tells me "Huh....its not here. Weird." I hope I get it tomorrow! How does the actual jersey look? I got a Willis.

I disagree with you and Darin about Diesel. He gets away with waaaaaaay more than is done to him and he has bitched about it, constantly. This was the first season since he was in Orlando that I can't remember him blaming refs if he had a bad game. It was like: Shaq: 38 pts, 18 rbs = "Good officiating tonight. The refs were actually pay attention" Shaq: 16 pts 9 rbs = "Refs were blind. I was mugged all night" The most comical part was Shaq going on and on ad nauseum about Mutombo playing like a "sissy" against him in the 2001 finals while ESPN was showing several slow motion clips of Dik taking bows to the jaw over and over. I challenge any man to take a few elbows from Shaq and keep comin back for more. Having said all that, I respect Shaq a lot for what he has brought to the game and his presence and attitude off the court. He is funny, charismatic and definitely has an a compassionate side. The Spurs would have owned the heat though. Duncan could have handled a Shaq even if he was healthier (at least contained him) and Parker/Bowen could hold down an injured Wade. Spurs in 5....6 tops.

I ordered a McGahee one last night when the link still worked. I have a confirmation email that says my order will be shipped within 48 hours, but I have my doubts. I wonder if they would actually ship a jersey out that has not been officially released.

I think the big flag with the throwback Buffalo is pretty sick. I'd buy it.

it was amazing! especially after the JH midfielder bobbled the face off...i thought for sure they wouldnt have time after that. what a sick left handed shot. And the game winning OT goal, terrible D on UVA. The one defender didnt even step up and challenge the shot. Goalie was hung out to dry. -
No talk of the 'Housewives' finale?(spoilers?)

I only watched a few episodes, but I always enjoyed when I did. To those who think Rex is alive, do you think the doctor lied to Bree when he told her on the phone or do you think there was just a mistake? -

I hope everything works out for you! All the best.... -
My deepest and more sincere thanks to everyone who sent me and Wendell their blessings. Honestly, it was great to have someone else to "talk to" about this. I still get a little choked up when I think about him, but the initial grieving seems to have passed. My parents decided to get him cremated, so when I go home we can spread his ashes and say our final goodbyes. I really feel the losses you have all had with animals now. I think it will sink in when I get home and there is no more little guy always getting under my feet or sitting patiently by the dishwasher each night, waiting for a plate to lick. So I won't ramble on, but again, thanks so much to all of you. You really did make me feel better. Bart RIP W

I know these posts show up every so often, and I never thought I'd make one, but I just got the news and there is no one else around to tell. My parents just called me to let me know that my(our) dog died yesterday of internal bleeding in his stomach. He was a small dog (Cavalier King Charles Spaniel for thsoe who are familiar) and had developed a chronic cough due to an enlarged heart pushing on his lungs. He fought it with no complaints for over a year, but I guess eventually it was just his time. He was 12 years old and had a great life. We got him in the summer of '93 when I was just 9 years old. He really was just the most loving and trusting creature from the moment we first saw him. Being an only child, it was also often that it was him that I would talk to and be with when I felt alone. He added so much to our lives and it is just so hard to get news like that 2 days before I am supposed to graduate college. I knew he wasn't gonna last too much longer, but I am going home Monday and I really hoped I he would hang in there for a few more days so I would get to see him one last time. I always knew news like this would be hard to take, and thankfully I have never lost a close family member, but you just can't prepare for how you are going to feel. So thanks for letting me get it out..... R.I.P. Wendell ------- 4/21/93-5/11/05 Bart

Skipped gym class costs student diploma
bartshan-83 replied to Tux of Borg's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Darin, I don't doubt at all that the HS is being unnecessarily inflexible here, but I guess I just take it as a case of personal accountability. I think the school should have waived it because of her athletic resume, but in principle I do not agree with the notion that some requirements are somehow unworthy of consideration. It's not like the school told her one month before graduation that she was fvcked. They laid out for her exactly what she had to do in order to graduate *and* they gave her options. She didn't have to drop her AP Bio, she could have dropped chorus. Is singing anymore frivolous than gym? I guess in this case I agree with you, but in general I am against people trying to worm their way out of what is required of everyone else. And I do not agree with the principle that some requirements are essential, but some aren't worth sh*t. Bottom line, she could have avoided this whole mess with minimal effort on her part. Which is why I feel little sympathy for her when she wants to complain after the fact. -

I kinda side with the school too. They could have been more flexible, but they did give her options and she refused. How is it any different than if her Bio class was required and she elected to take 2 gym classes instead? Just because its gym does not mean it is not a requirement. I do agree that she should be going to her college though. To revoke an admittance on the basis of skippin gym would be silly. -
"Go Cowboys. We beet you in three superbowls!" ~Lenny in Sloan Whether its him or not, I can't believe some of you 'veterans' of this place actually debated with him. AD....I didnt think you'd fall for that kind of stuff. Keep that bacon fryin baby!

Christ, everyone should look at that full list and check out Arizona. Not only have they finished dead last for 4 straight years (at least, could be more), but the raw #s are staggering. I knew it was bad, but........

Boy still has potential. I had him on my fantasy team last year (03-04) and he occasionally brought it hard. I just think he has no place on that team. The big 3 effectively squeeze out anyone else from making a major contribution. I didn't think he was ready when he declared as a high schooler and I still think he has some mental issues to deal with. A change of scenery could really help him, but he has to want it. ~side note: Tough battle for the sixers tonight. It was a good season, and as always, a pleasure and thrill to watch Allen Iverson play. Definitely his best season in 9 years and I look forward to their future. Igodala has some serious potential as a defensive force and Dalembert still teases me with his flashes. If C-Webb can come back to 100% and AI can keep being superman, they could have a serious shot in 1-2 years. Bart

pouring concrete....oh the fun I had last summer. I especially enjoyed it when the pouring site was up a hill or up some steps from where the mixer stopped. Nothing like pushing a wheelbarrow full of cement up 6-8 steps while trying to balance it on a 2x6.... much, much respect to those who do that for a living

1. Where in Indiana are you? 2. What music store is open at 1am?

The best method I ever had was the water+tylenol deal. But I was never disciplined enough to do it before i passed out. So since I would inevitably wake up once during the night, i would force myself to swallow 2 tylenol and drink a swig of water. Usually, felt much better when i finally woke up for good. Gonna miss those days...

a free agent the bills really should consider

Can he make a field goal longer than 39 yds? If so tell him to pack his makeup and moisturizers and report to One Bills Drive. -
You ain't kidding. God I hate Eskin, he can always find something to B word and complain about.

Did anyone catch the segment on the early 90s Bills tonight on ESPN Classic? I was playin music so I didn't have the sound on, but it seemed to be just recaps of games in during the Super Bowl runs. Also highlight reels focusing on each indivdual player. It was sweet. I forgot how graceful Lofton was, smooth as silk. And I could watch TT run for days....

I agree. Something seems very fishy. His fishing companion couldn't operate the boat??? I'm gonna have to assume that it was a sailboat (story didn't say) otherwise finding the friggin steering wheel sure sounds like a huge challenge. I mean this "fishing companion" is the only one who could tell the story....coulda said anything.

When did TD disrespect other front offices
bartshan-83 replied to RVJ's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Even if that stuff was true, I in no way see how Donahoe betrayed any "code of conduct." He didn't mention any specific teams or GMs, he didn't even mention the trading partners that had been discussed earlier (PHI, TB, AZ, etc.) I agree with Todd, the author is sensationalizing to sell ad space. -
I think that would be a dream come true, but I don't see it happening. Salaam is their most established starter at Tackle. If they trade him, they are down to a rookie and a guy coming off season-ending knee surgery (Pearson). I would love it though..
