Always irked me that Tessio and Clemenza, if you follow the timeline, went from "off the boat" Sicilians with heavy accents and did not speak English, to "italoamericani" with heavy Brooklyn accents. Doesnt make sense.

Just notified today that to access the Bills app I need to load the latest update. The latest update requires your iPhone to run iOS 16 at a minimum. I use an iPhone 7 which is capped at iOS 15 so I can no longer access the Bills app. No, I’m not going to get a new phone just for an app. I’m sure there are others using iPhone 7 (or older) who are PO’ed as well. I’ll just be more reliant on this page and you folks for info. Rant over…
I hate to be rude, man....but a 7?????? We are on iPhone 15s now. Its not the Bills' or the app developer's or the NFL's fault you are purposely choosing to use an old device. I know these devices can be $$$$ but you can get an upgrade with your current carrier for very little money these days and you can pay them off over time.

My comments are purely about the aesthetic….not the experience.
Its funny...I actually joke with my friend who is an Islanders fan about thier new building. First time I was there (UBS Arena) I asked him 'Where's the Gap and Old Navy?" becuase walking the councourse it defintely had a little bit of a "mall vibe" to it. But....my point remains. The building is awesome and the it took all of 8.5 seconds for those Islanders fans, who had a building very similar to The Ralph in terms of astethic (old, loud and "blue collar") and a rowdy gameday "culture" just like we do, to get on board with their new shiny buidling and all the new creature comforts and amenities. They now love it.
I will add something else I have noticed in these new buildings. And this is just my personal experience....
Dare I say that in these newer buildings its a bit more...civilized. Still loud. Still super fun. Still downright rowdy at times. But theres a lot more familes. More college kids. More couples on dates. Its not just ten guys going together and getting piss drunk out of their minds and looking to fight. And maybe Im getting older now...but I dont see that as a terrible thing.

I find it intriguing that nobody in the pictures is actually watching football.
Welcome to the modern sports experience. Most of the stadium clubs have whole sections that dont even have a TV! The Piazza Club at CitiField is like this. Its a really nice giant area with food and a giant bar and couches and very few tvs to watch the actual game. Crazy.
I DO have to admit, when its cold in April or brutally hot in August, its a nice place to go for an inning or two.
2 hours ago, eball said:It sure does. Some folks just have an axe to grind or are envious. Many Bills fans still fail to realize how good they have had it. This new stadium will be filled and be a great experience for those who choose to take part.
I would bet that a lot of people who complain avout these renderings have never been to a new stadium or arena. The 70s and 80s are over. What youre seeing in these renderings is STANDARD in ALL sports buildings, even on the "minor league" levels.
I remember when Shea Stadium closed....that I must have gone to hundreds of times in my life. It was home and comfortable and all the CitiField renderings looked weird and like it would never have the same "feel" as Shea. And when it opened it WAS weird and felt almost "too nice" for Mets fans (save the jokes, please!). And now? ITS AWESOME. Its loud and home and has a million creature comforts and great food and I couldnt imagine going "back" to the old way of watching a baseball game. And most important? It has a super cool vibe and is just downright FUN to go to.
Trust me folks....Its going to be awesome. It will be weird and youll feel out of place at first. And while youll still always miss The Ralph (I know I will), in the end youre going to love it.

After Jerry, the band I enjoyed the most was Furthur. I was at the following show and it was great. They also did a fantastic version of "Shakedown Street."
I'm not thrilled by Dead and Co. At this point I would rather was Melvin Seals and the JGB.
Hey, jmo.
For me, it was "The Dead" with Joan Osborne. I absolutely LOVED what she brought to the band and although the guitar work with Jimmy Herring wasnt as good as Mayer (a TRUE lead guitarist), when Warren Haynes joined....WOW. The whole band together and still young, having a piano player AND organ player (Rob Baracco and Jeff) and of course Joan made for some REALLY good music.

If you like some of the lesser known sports, Peacock is a good choice. I got it to watch the TDF when it was like $49.99 for an entire year. I also get replays of just about all the Olympic sports plus the NFL games that are exclusively on Peacock.
BTW, Thomas Pidcock of Great Britain, another TDF participant, won gold in the men's mountain biking yesterday. He came back from an early mechanical problem to win.
Im not watching but heard about Pidcock and that "move" he made. Ive done that move in a few MTB races, myself 😍.

The cycling time trial is tomorrow, with TDF 3rd place finisher Remco Evenepoel likely a favorite. I believe he's the currrent world champion cycling time trialer. The Olympic road race is later in the games, and one of the riders to watch is Matteo Jorgenson of the USA who finished 8th in the TDF and almost won a stage, losing by 21 seconds, to Tadej Pogacar, eventual TDF winner.
Pogacar dropping out took a lot of juice out of the Olypics race for me. Im not a huge Pogi fan, Im more of a Jonas guy but I felt he should be there.
People dont understand what the Tour is like for fans of the sport. Its literally a Super Bowl level must watch event every single day for three weeks. Even if the race is settled or the stage is a bit flat, the spectacle and intensity of the riders and crowds is just amazing. On a seperate note, my GOD is Paul Sherwin missed and CVV belongs in studio doing analysis, not giving observations on course. I want to literally strangle Bookwalter by the end of the race, especially with regard to how he smugly looked down his nose at Girmay.

Reminds me of The Station fire from several years back. Never been there…Place looks like it was an absolute deathtrap but maybe I’m wrong and the place was all up to code
Still offering my condolences to those who had a good time there.

Always "amazing" how quick buildings that will make money go up. Meanwhile, municipal projects (roads, bridges, etc.) take forever.

It doesn’t have to be mutually exclusive. That’s the point. Butker suggests it has to be.
I dont agree. But I DO think he was a little ham-fisted with his words. The term "homemaker" is a loaded one which to a lot of people implies "get back into the kitchen." But there is no queation that running a good home is tough job and an important one thats been downplayed and crapped on in search of some new noble calling for women in the workforce.
Which kind of leads me to my next point here....
A LOT of people who are outraged over this have also been on the side of "screw the man" and "your career isnt everything...find something else thats closer to your heart" and all that, especially post-COVID. Isnt that the same thing Butker is saying?

Did your life not start until that moment? Was everything before that meaningless?
Of course not. But he clearly used the term "vocation" both as him as father and his wife as a mother. Thats something thats aspired and worked toward, not born with.

Has anybody bothered to ask actual MOTHERS if they feel that being a mom and making sure their children have a safe and nurturing home is "the most important thing" to them? Id bet a lot of money the vast majority of them...even ones with big time careers outside the home...would say that it is. Becuase all I know is that Im a "father and provider" and there is ABSOLTUELY NOTHING ON THIS PLANET that comes remotely close to that title in terms of priority, importance, sense of duty or pride for me.

What a delusional fool.
He gets invited to speak at a commencement, where students have worked for 4+ years on their degree, while spending tens of thousands of dollars... and he "ventures to guess" that the girls would rather be housewives and spends time speaking about it?
It's such an incredibly stupid thing to say in that situation, basically brushing aside their hard work and achievement, to talk about how great his wife has it.
Ha!
If my daughter would've been graduating at that ceremony, I would've been PO'd.
It was for a very Catholic, traditional school, dude. The outrage you’re looking for on behalf of the students just isn’t there. The people who went to this school are on board with his comments.

Funny how they always pull out Leviticus to condemn gay people though...
I hate to drop this on ya, but youre going to be very hard pressed to find a religion that doesnt have something to say and explicit rules about the respective roles of men and women with regard to families, procreation, etc.

They are also hypocrites
EVERYONE is a hypocrite. -
A Catholic person at a gathering of Catholic individuals gave a speech where he/she/they promoted the values of living as a Catholic.
Now replace the word "Catholic" with the name of any other social/political identity or class and let me know if its still something to be "outraged and offended" about.
Always amazes me how in the modern world where literally everything is looked at through the prism of extreme dogma, the group that basically invented the damned word is the only one thats denounced for practicing it.

Not many businesses exist where the fans (taxpayers) pay for the building and THEN get charged to enter the building and THEN get charged to buy the product.
Imagine if YOU (the taxpayer) had to pay for new Taco Bell building. And THEN when the fancy new Taco Bell you paid for was all constructed, management made you pay to enter the building you just paid for. And THEN once youre in the building you paid to build, and paid to enter, you had to then pay for the actual tacos.
Your analogy doesnt wash because 99% of businesses... this would be thought of as insane. Which it is.
It is not even remotely close to passing the cost of doing business onto the customer.Unless Im WAY off, the purpose of the PSL is to finance the construction of the Stadium. And a sports team...last I checked...needs a stadium to play and in this day and age thats a lot more than brick steel, toilets, grass and some seats.
Also, you act like sports teams are the only businesses that get tax breaks. Ever hear of IDAs? You also cant compare a fast food franchise to a sports team and how they operate and are financed. Come on.

Until they start to suck again. Which will probably happen when Josh leaves. It’s a money grab. I don’t have a dog in this fight. I gave up my ST’s years ago when the drinking and tailgating got out of control.
I really only watch the big games nowadays and wouldn’t really miss it if it went away.
I believe this will signal the end of the bills in buffalo sooner rather than later. High ticket prices, rowdy drunk fans and the ever increasing costs for blue collar workers and as soon as the team starts to suck, away goes the people who are willing to pay for the exorbitant prices will stop paying.
Greed ruins everything. How does "greed" comes into play here? Name me a business that DOESNT pass at least a significant portion of the cost of doing business on to its customers in one way, shape or form.
Until Im shown that team ownership is soaking the fans in this new building and charging prices with a very very high markup, the "greed" argument just doesnt wash.

Purchasing a football ticket and a car is not a good comparison.
Then a boat. Or putting a pool and patio with kitchen in your yard. Or maybe a second "hobby" car, like a Vette or some classic car. Or if youre me and really into cycling, a pro-level road bike ($12-$14K).
A PSL is no different than stuff like the above in that its part of the "cost" of the thing that one enjoys for recreation. And if youre one of those folks who make going to Bills games 8-10 times a year and doing the tailgate in OP a priority in your life for fun and rec time, this is the current price of participation in 2024.

Much to everyone's excitement, I wont be able to make the Opener, as The Boy starts his Travel Baseball season that weekend and he made a new team and he needs to be at the very first game, blah blah blah. So you can remove me from the list. Ill be up for the Tennessee game with all the Fast's in tow, however. Have a great time, all.
