Screw the farmer. Days are too short in NYS as it is, even in the middle of the Summer. Last thing we need is MORE days where we get home from work in the dark. As far as what goes on in bars late, my personal credo in regards to bars is "Nothing good happens after 2AM".

The world treats (and abuses) the U.S. like a homeowner treats his very skilled (but slightly talkative and perhaps overly friendly) neighbor.... They dont want to hear from us at all and want us to stay on our side of the fence......until their sink starts leaking.

Along this line of thinking, I have never undertood how GW "Going to Daddy to advice" was considered such a bad thing. Last I checked, Bush's "daddy" has a just a tad-bit of experience in politics, world affairs and ruling the free world.

Id like to know more about this "Families againt the war" group. It is a country-bashing group of old anti-war leftists or is it a true support group for parents with mixed feelings about why their child has decided to join the ranks?

He certainly is going to be disappointed in the "glamor" aspect of it. And as the risk of sounding like a sappy patiot, if I were you, Id hang the flag of child in service in your window and be proud as any mother can be that your Son has decided to sacrifice and serve his country. He is doing the most noble of things. And God forbid bad things should befall him, hold your head high that your son made the ultimate sacrifice and died a true hero, the highest of honors for any mother and child. I have no problem with Boston, as a whole doing well. Until the Pats got good and last week for the Sox, Boston hasnt had a true winner in either sport since, well...1918. Let them have their fun and lets look forward to the time when its Buffalo's turn to raise a Vince Lombardi trophy and Stanley Cup.

IM really not following how doing a series on the Sox such such a big deal. Im sure STL is getting plenty of attention before they get their asses handed to them tonight. Honestly, BF...Matt Morris and Jason Marquis against this lineup? And in the pen? The Sox ate up Rivera. And even YOU have to admit......Izzy is closer to Geraldo Rivera than he is to Mariano Rivera.

Ill take a solid 85 yards from Henry as long as there are no fumbles, blown assignments or intances of him tripping all over the place. He does any of the above and Mularkey has to sit him. Enough is enough. Henry is one ofthe most fundamentally inept players on this team. He can run...butthats it. And we all know that there is more to the RB position than just running, as silly as that sounds. Henry is like the "Jeff George" of RBs. Hes got the ONE main quality for his position mastered, but NONE of the ancillary qualities that are also needed to be a true success in this league.

Hate to beat a dead horse....but the Sox GOTTA WIN the WS to 100% get over this "thing" called a curse or whatever else it is. What happened last night erased Bucky Dent, Boone, 1999 and a lot of other stuff. It did NOTHING to erase 1918 or Buckner or the loss to the Reds. There is unfinished business for the Sox.

But thats not what Im talking about...not about political arguments or talking trash about a baseball or football game. Im talking about how it gets PERSONAL. From what I understand, it got personal with that thing at the first tailgate and what I went through got personal as well. There is no excuse for that. But it does happen. What I have a problem with is the fact that there are some who knwo they can act in a bad manner OFFLINE as well. Its when they know they act horribly and will never face any repercussions online and offline becuase they are part of a clique. THAT sucks.

After the BS I just went through in a baseball thread two days in a row where people took what I said and twisted it into anything BUT what I said, Im sad to say that Im really really DOWN on this place. There is way too much immaturity, "tough guys" and elitism to justify attempts to start any type of rational discussion. Not only that, there are just some BAD people who really need to learn a few life lessons. When you cant even make a mistake and apologize for it without being flamed, threatened and disparaged by people who know they can get away with such terrible behavior, something is fundamentally wrong. And worse, when you cant even go to some of these board events because of the fear that these goons will continue such behavior offline, weve got a serious problem.
