  1. Boy, does anybody fall ass-backwards into more jobs than AVP? Does he have some compromising pics of Ralph or something?
  2. So its looks like the real "outrage" over this is over the fact the WH Press Corp didnt get their ballwashing and the story first. Just watched yesterdays WH PC about this with everyone from David Gregory on down gnashing their teeth and freaking out becuase they werent given the story first. Because...ya know...they been such "good friends" to the Administration and really "deserve" a break. Good.
  3. Thank Youuuuuuuu. Im perplexed as to why so much attention is being paid to keeping a CB when there are so many more important spots on the team that need help.
  4. Smiley faces, baby....smiley faces. They mean a lot.
  5. Going hunting and a typical accident is "an example of GOP buffoonery"??!!?? What other retort is there to this except to say: Yeah, well at least WE get out and DO STUFF instead of sitting around whining about everything from behind our copy of the NY Times and our lattes. Whining, !@#$ing maggots..... God....if feel dumber just from discussing this topic like this.
  6. WHAT Math? Bush and the WH knew about it on Sat. night. The story broke Sunday AM. Big Deal. Sure......HOW the story broke is a little suspect. But while high in its initial impact ("The VP SHOT someone!"), what really took place (minor, common hunting accident) isnt something that merits the WH PR team to jump up and go nuts to make sure its properly addressed IMMEDIATLEY. On a Saturday night. After hours. During a blizzard.
  7. And, of course...its becoming a NATIONAL SCANDAL!!!!! http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/11312757/
  8. Cornerbacks are medicore WRs who didnt have the "hands" to cut it at their postion. We really dont need linemen.
  9. Al Gore and Jimmy Carter...the RNC's best friends.
  10. I run a "surplus" every pay day. Lasts about ten seconds, 9.5 seconds longer that that Govt surplus will.
  11. From what I was taught, The Fairness Doctrine (Equal Time) was for when a political candidate was brought in for an interview, a media outlet (TV or radio) had to offer a chance to the opposition to retort later. That is, get "equal (air) time". It really had to nothing to do with the leanings of the media in the aggregate. http://www.museum.tv/archives/etv/E/htmlE/...equaltimeru.htm The equal time, or more accurately, the equal opportunity provision of the Communications Act requires radio and television stations and cable systems which originate their own programming to treat legally qualified political candidates equally when it comes to selling or giving away air time. Simply put, a station which sells or gives one minute to Candidate A must sell or give the same amount of time with the same audience potential to all other candidates for the particular office.
  12. When the sole reason for your parties' being is "Bush Bad, Republicans Bad", with the not-so-subtle implication that Democrats are NOT guilty of the same offenses, what the eff do you expect to get in retort? The message your party gave two Novembers ago was basically "Elect Kerry and you'll wake up tommorrow with all the worlds problems solved", fer chrissakes.
  13. Doesnt make any sense not to wear it. IMO, not wearing your seatbelt is worse than smoking....makes less sense. At least with smoking, theres some pleasure involved for the smoker. What pleasure do you get out of not wearing your seatbelt? Regarding the video...I know its in really poor taste to say this, but what the hell...... Who watched it and thought of that scene in "The Naked Gun", where Ricardo Montalban goes over the ledge and falls to the concrete, and just when you think his suffering is over, gets run over by a bus, a steamroller and a marching band playing "Louie, Louie"? Be honest!
  14. "LIBERALS TOLERATE ALL RELIGIONS" I just had MY "water spitting out of nose" moment, thank you!
  15. Care to comment on Nassau County DA Kathleen Rice, a DEMOCRAT who "promised" to do away with cronyism and "yes-men", hiring her sister (who has zero experience) a week after her election to a $90,000 gig as her own personal secretary? At her inauguration Monday, Nassau County District Attorney Kathleen Rice said the public "bestowed upon me a trust that I will not take for granted." But by the end of the week, she had already undercut that promise. Rice is making a mistake in hiring her brother's wife as a $95,000-a-year executive assistant. She should correct this early misstep. Rice defends her choice of Cheryl Rice, wife of her brother, Larry, as the most qualified person to fill the job of confidential aide, scheduler and trusted adviser. But a good lawyer should know when an argument is off point. This is not about her sister-in-law's competence or credentials, which are impressive. It is about avoiding even the appearance of impropriety as top law enforcement officer. Rice is running the district attorney's office, not Off Track Betting. Rice has quickly forgotten that she was elected on a "holier than thou" Democratic ticket that attacked the cronyism and patronage of its Republican opponents. She especially criticized Hempstead Town Supervisor Kate Murray for putting her father and brother on the public payroll. Murray defended her family by saying they were very competent. Is Murray now right, or is Rice now wrong? This need for an all-in-the-family hire sends a troubling message about Rice's judgment and that of her inner circle of advisers. It is an amateurish miscalculation. http://www.newsday.com/news/opinion/ny-vpr...rials-headlines But Democrats Different.
  16. Mariah Carey did an awesome job on her tunes. Cant stand the woman, but she's got some set of pipes. OK, go ahead...flame me...I dont care.
  17. I think there is a conspiracy. We all know that two people with similar backgrounds never grativate towards each other for employment, personal relationships or other social causes.
  18. Meet you there. Hey...I think I can write a book... "A Rich Guy Who Cant Afford to Buy a Three Bedroom House"
  19. Honest answer. Personally, Id have a problem with it. Theres a tie and place for everything. Just as the State of the Union address is not the place for a political protest,l a funeral is not the place for partisan jabs.
  20. Basically, what youre saying is that truth and validity of statements being made trump respect and decorum at all costs and all the time. So tell me....would have it been appropriate for Bush 43 to start speaking about Condi Rice, Powell and other minority leaders in the GOP and to start touting it as the, say "new party of inclusion"? How would you feel is Bush 41 started a historical lesson of the Democratic Party 1850-1965 in regards to race relations, especially with blacks or mentioned how Carter played the race card in his campaign for governor of GA in 1970? Im sure such talk from the Bushes would have been ok for you, given your assertions above, right? Right.
