  1. http://www.kansascity.com/182/story/66339.html While we’re fixated on a bad joke cracked by an irrelevant, bad shock jock, I’m sure at least one of the marvelous young women on the Rutgers basketball team is somewhere snapping her fingers to the beat of 50 Cent’s or Snoop Dogg’s or Young Jeezy’s latest ode glorifying nappy-headed pimps and hos. I ain’t saying Jesse, Al and Vivian are gold-diggas, but they don’t have the heart to mount a legitimate campaign against the real black-folk killas. It is us. At this time, we are our own worst enemies. We have allowed our youths to buy into a culture (hip hop) that has been perverted, corrupted and overtaken by prison culture. The music, attitude and behavior expressed in this culture is anti-black, anti-education, demeaning, self-destructive, pro-drug dealing and violent. Rather than confront this heinous enemy from within, we sit back and wait for someone like Imus to have a slip of the tongue and make the mistake of repeating the things we say about ourselves. It’s embarrassing. Dave Chappelle was offered $50 million to make racially insensitive jokes about black and white people on TV. He was hailed as a genius. Black comedians routinely crack jokes about white and black people, and we all laugh out loud. I’m no Don Imus apologist. He and his tiny companion Mike Lupica blasted me after I fell out with ESPN. Imus is a hack. But, in my view, he didn’t do anything outside the norm for shock jocks and comedians. He also offered an apology. That should’ve been the end of this whole affair. Instead, it’s only the beginning. It’s an opportunity for Stringer, Jackson and Sharpton to step on victim platforms and elevate themselves and their agenda$.
  2. Yes. But why has THIS comment.....NOW...created the reaction it has? "Easy shots" are taken all day every day on the radio and in the media. Comediennes do entire acts making fun of different groups and classes of people. So why does THIS comment said by a man who has been an equal opportunity offender for thirty years suddenly get this much attention? And the reactions are getting insane. One of the players said she's been "scarred for life." The coach went on ESPN Radio and equated what Imus said with murder.....MURDER!!!!!!! Its getting downright crazy.
  3. I got it...took me a minute. See my edit above.
  4. Good thing Joey isnt obsessed or anything. How the !@#$ do Rove and Imus connect with one another??!!!?? Actually...I give him credit. At least he didnt actually pin Anna Nicole's death and Sanjaya's ascention on Rove, as some some of diabolical conspiracy to get him off the front pages.
  5. Good thing black comediennes and radio hosts dont exploit white sterotypes, specifically the way "we" speak. This is insane....you would think Imus shot someone in the face.
  6. LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Bravo, again! Thats great...and the not-so-subtle point between those two little words isnt lost on me.
  7. "Its the Internet" is a cop out. Last I checked, there still a real person on the other end.
  8. Great post, OC. Bravo. Im still VERY upset by MG's assertion and assumption that I wished harm on those troops in order to move forward with some kind of agenda. We do a lot of name calling and what-not around PPP. A lot of it is done purely for sport. But MG's incessant assumptions about people and what they are saying gets downright personal and is really beyond the pale. He needs to stop.
  9. Jack Cafferty and Keith Olbermann are really "fair and balanced", right?
  10. Seems to me youre a lowlife piece of sh-- that sits at home and Googles things to repost here in some lame attempt to look smart. Its not working. As if you had any idea what the Logan Act is. Before you ran off and looked it up on wiki, you probably thought it was a funding bill for new sidewalks at the Boston airport. Lying fraud scumbag.
  11. Thought youd NEVER ask: Micheal Moore was the guest of honor at the DNC Convention John Edwards hires two extreme left bloggers and supports them. The same Edwards bows out of a Fox debate and then crows about it...on "Daily Kos"?. "Celebrity" members of the left like Jessie Jackson and other rub elbows with hard core socialists like Hugo Chavez. Moveon.org claim they now "own the Democratic Party." The entire Democratic Party bails on Joe Lieberman and supports Ned Lamont. Two words: HOWARD DEAN
  12. Its like I said earlier in the thread...people dont even realize what comes out of their mouths anymore. All you need to do is see Joey's response. He retorts to Coulters name calling with.....name calling. And worse, he tried his ass off to up the ante and outdo the original "crime" here, use of the word faggot. Yeah...thats the way to condemn someone...do something WORSE...."I condemn you for punching me. It was an awful thing to do...so In response, Ill shoot you." Brilliant. And to the second point and to further illustrate the hypocrisy...Michael Moore, every BIT Coulters equal on the left, was the guest of honor at the 2004 DNC. Not in attendance...the GUEST_OF_HONOR.
  13. Oh goody...another media whore 'activist" looking for attention.
  14. I figured. But wouldnt participants in covert ops take precautions stateside? Otherwise I could picture the Chinese, Soviets, etc. with a car permantely parked outside the gates watching who comes and goes.
  15. Lying under oath is lying under oath. There is no difference. There is no "fibber scale" when it comes to perjury, measuring how "bad" the lie is. Regarding the "outing", Im STILL trying to fiugre out how a woman who drove to CIA Headquarters in a flashy convertible with the top down, walking into the building's front door day after day, got "outed" as an agent.
  16. And this is different from her ilk on the other side of the aisle HOW? Just this morning in the SAME CONVERSATION, Don Imus was calling Bush a bunch of derogatory names, and then he goes on to blast Coulter for her act. I mean...do these people even HEAR what they spew???!!!??? To use another analogy, its like a guy doing 110 on the Thruway complaining about the guy who just passed him doing 125.
  17. Maher has got a TV show seen by millions. He brings on a who's who of political commentators and pundits week after week. He ability to play the "Im just a single comedian" really doesnt float anymore. Frankyl I cant WAIT to see his show Friday. First of all, he's close with Coulter. Second, what he calls Bush and anyone to the right of pretty much Ramsey Clark makes Coulter's commentary look tame. On another note, people on DailyKos are leading the charge to have Coulter silenced. As if THEY are the bastion of rational, civil politcal commentary. sh--, thats like Mickey D's leading the charge against obesity.
  18. Some good about people who say "Yeah, thats right!" when asked if they really MEANT what they said.
  19. Good point! Here is what I dont get about this situation. Especially since 2003, We have seen a steady stream of politicos, pundits, Tom, Dicks and Harrys going to Walter Reed for morale tours and what not. Never have we heard anything but glowing accounts of their experiences at the Hospital. All of sudden, the place is a (literally) rat hole?
  20. Aw come on....it was a.......ready?.....here it comes... BOTCHED JOKE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Seriously, I think whats she said was terrible. The GOP is looking to paint itself as the party AOBVE this stuff. Then she goes aqnd throws this out there and sets the whole movement back five steps. To appease the rest who KNOW Id be all over this story, here is yer "dose of hypocrisy"..... I find it comical, if not pathetic that GLAAD...ya know them....The organization that fights so hard to lash out against bad gay stereotypes, blasts Coulter for her comments and goes on to paint every member of the GOP with the same brush, as a bunch of homophobes. "Ann Coulter's use of this anti-gay slur is vile and unacceptable," said Neil G. Giuliano, president of the Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation, "and the applause from her audience is an important reminder that Coulter's ugly brand of bigotry is at the root of the discriminatory policies being promoted at this gathering." And of course, while he almost HAD TO react, considering Edwards is barely getting himself together after what happened with his bloggers, he really should tone down his response a bit. At the end of the day, it seems both events got about the same response. And Edwards IS a.......candy-ass.
  21. I know, I know. Both Germany and "The Japs" (thanks, 'Ben Franklin') had their ownreasons for entering WWII. But I use this analogy to smash MG's wonderful assertion that nations hostile to US interests is a GOOD thing.
  22. Ya know....it was a great thing when Germany and Japan got together and began talking back in the day.........BROTHER.
  23. "Americans showed a striking willingness in the poll to make tradeoffs to guarantee health insurance for all, including paying as much as $500 more in taxes a year and forgoing future tax cuts. " $500 doesnt come CLOSE to the increase in taxes we would pay for a Nationalized system of health care! Talk about a flawed poll. Now...NYT and whomever else is trotting out this RIDICULOUS notion of "guaranteed" health care....Go ask the folks if they would support it if the REAL cost of it is taken into consideration.
  24. My Acura's got 175,000 on the clock, original clutch and I've had ZERO issues.
