Receivers should take a page from his book.
Flop away, baby!
Gimme them 15 yards!
I was just gonna say...receivers DO take a page. Any close contact for a ball, if it falls incomplete the WR is up and waving his arms looking for a flag. Every team. Every game.

Phillips injured? Look...my shocked face.
Ive pretty much had enough of Phillips. Hes either hurt, setting the team back 15 yards, yelling at other teams fans (not just in the Philly game) or waving his arms up and down like an idiot. No, I would not say any of this to his face.

Allen also has a tendency to start a fight and then hide behind his linemen.
he wasn't always this way
Thats a complete falsehood. He's jumped into more than one scrum.
On the "flopping", I couldnt not care less what it looks like. Michael Jordan was notorious for playing the refs. Brady was. Lebron is. Before his recent crying sessions, did anyone give Mahomes hell for looking for a flag every single time he threw an incomplete pass? No. Josh would be a fool not to take what the refs are willing to give him.
You know when what Allen does becomes "bad?" When it stops working. Unil then, he can be more dramatic than Liz Taylor as far as Im concerned.

We have a Josh tree topper (https://www.etsy.com/listing/1093628634/buffalo-quarterback-jumping-over) and a bunch of random Bills ornaments.

Call me crazy, but I'm speculating that Joe Burrow, Ja'Marr Chase, and Justin Jefferson had far more to do with Joe Brady's success at LSU than the Assistant Coach sitting with him in the Press Box. Just guessing???
As Lou Holtz once said, I've had good players and bad players, but I'm a much better coach when I have good players." Funny how that works.
Then why fire McDermott? Just get him better players.

Yeah but the difference is guys like Belichik and Reid have multiple superbowl appearances and rings to back it up.
That's what people still don't get about McDummy...his crowing achievement is reaching one single conference championship game in the weird Covid year and getting curb stomped despite taking an early 10-0 lead in that game.
You DO realize Andy Reid was McDermott before McDermott was McDermott, right? Belichick was fired from Cleveland.

So McDermott is a "narcissist control freak" you say?
Literally every football coach from little girl's flag teams through high school, college and the NFL is a "narcissist control freak."
The classmate from 1986 that your friends picked to "coach" your annual Thanksgiving morning football game at your old high high school is a "narcissist control freak."
In my experience with youth sports and of course from my school days and what I see out there in our society and culture, EVERY SINGLE COACH IN EVERY SINGLE SPORT ON THE PLANET IS A "NARCISSIST CONTROL FREAK." To one degree or another.
Try again.

The pale, stupefied, knockoff version who trudges to the sideline after an interception vs. Denver with McDermott screaming in his ear.
Unlike his boss, Allen does not come remotely close to assigning blame. Doesn’t embarrass receivers on national TV. Doesn’t snipe into earholes on the sidelines.
Oh one time when Allen threw another horrid INT his coach yelled a little bit? HORRORS!!!!!
The only HC Im familiar with who does this sort of thing regularly is the man most people here have a man-crush on and would like to see replace McDermott....Brian Daboll. That guy waves his arms and rolls his eyes more than a bobblehead doll.

This is really starting to go into a dark territory with the 9/11 stuff. Not due to what McD said with his dopey story but with the fact that its now being picked up in the national press and misconstrued. Say what you will about McD's game management and whether or not hes a lousy head coach. There has been nothing to indicate that hes a bad man. And thats how hes being portrayed in the national media now and for what? He told a weird, awkward story to try and motivate his football team? Its just so wrong.

Lets be honest....a three part series about how the head coach is a socially awkward maniac can be written for every single NFL team.
We know Belichick is one. Payton definitely is one. And have you seen Mike McDaniel's pants? Its basically a pre-requisite for the job.

If I have to take the time to explain why a rookie punter is expendable in that case I really doubt you would have the mental capacity to understand it.

Dude you literally just proved my point.
And really no reason for the insults.

Again, don't say what "we" would do unless you have a frog in your pocket and that who you are referring to as "we".
If Von was at 20 sacks right now and this dropped I would feel the same way. See, some people value humility and empathy way more over watching other men win a trophy. Some things are more important than football. And if that not how it is for you, I'm sorry you're empty inside.
"Cut him, hes just the punter."
This was THE talking point with regard to the Araiza situation among the majority of Bills Mafia, uttered by fans everywhere, by WGR hosts and even by some prominient Twitter personalities who like to profess that women's rights is one of their priorities.
People want to pretend stature on the team doesnt matter. But it does and Bills Mafia, with all its self-righeousness, proved that last Spring every time they uttered that phrase. "Hes just the punter." WHO the player is matters a lot. Like it or not.

Honestly I don’t think this is true at all. Maybe a few dipshits here, but the vast majority would want him released if he’s guilty.
Im not so sure about that. Remember...rationale from the VAST majority of Bills Mafia AND a lot of well-known popular Bills pundits with regard to cutting Araiza was "hes just a punter." Based on that statement, a lot of Bills Mafia is very comfortable having a very big criterion determining whether to cut a player for bad behavior is what his production/contribution is to the team on the field.

The better we perform in the short term, the more likely we will maintain the status quo in the long term. I don't see any way that isn't the case. It was already a long shot that we would part ways with McDermott after this year. It was going to take an implosion on the trajectory of what we had seen prior to Dorsey being canned. If they turn it around and threaten the playoffs it's not going to happen.
Do some of you feel strongly enough about McDermott to actual want this thing to implode for the greater good? Do some of you feel if we can somehow get back on track to make the playoffs that it would alter your view on him as the coach next year? Curious what the outlook is on this.
This is the type of mindset that drives me nuts. We need to tank to get the HC fired. For who? WHO KNOWS! But ANYBODY has to be better, right? Right. I mean...IF IF IF Andy Reid or Vince Lombardi was sitting out there waiting for a HC job, then at least I could wrap my head around this thought process. But....hes not. So please stop.
I read a comment on Twitter...X...whatever...last week that...get this....even if the Bills WIN THE SUPER BOWL they should fire McDermott. Some of you need to go outside more.

According to many, only a win of 75 - 0 would "bring them back."
Then again, this is the same fanbase that is currently saying things like "Even if they win the Super Bowl, they should fire Sean McDermott."

So if you can’t see how grounded and embarrassed that Josh Allen is after Dorsey getting fired.Even with tge turn overs I still think Josh is a elite and our once in a lifetime quarterback. The team rose with him and will eventually get a superbowl with him.Look at the whole team and who clearly is the best on it? it is Josh hands down.As great as Diggs is he is the one pouting and having public outburst’s.Three games this year Allen in the last few minutes went to the sidelines with a hard fought lead and watched the defense blow a game on weird sequences.Never once did Josh say “well I left with a lead and wedid our job”.Through this slump and bad play, even some his Josh has shown he is a true leader and Buffalo should be happy he is a Buffalo Bill…
GO BILLS!!!!
Grounded and embarrassed? To me, he looked aloof and dissinterested. Hat down over glazed eyes, snickering at some of the questions. Something isnt "right" with him.

The negative WGR narratives are a bit tiresome. All in all both morning show and afternoon do a good job. I agree with some of what is said and disagree with some of what is said. That's good radio.
I think many fans feel if they host doesnt agree with their point 100% that they are bad at their job.
Is WGR perfect? No. But waaaaay better than some would have you believe.
This. Overall, WGR is good, even if they can be homerish, as I laid out in another post. Down here in NYC area, the "gold standard" of sports radio, WFAN has become a convoluted mess of Howard Stern/Mad Dog Russo wannabes who justy spit out ridiculous "hot takes" and yell all day long like banshees. Its "sports shock radio" and its gross. At least on WGR there are adults on the air.

I do like Sal a lot but like virtually ALL Buffalo media types, they are way too friendly with the teams they cover and that comes out on the air and in print. Even this AM, one caller asked Sal why the media doesnt push back on McD or ask for more info on his answers and Sal got VERY upset at that. And this is definitely true. Someone will ask McD a question, get some sort of vaugue nonanswer and there is NEVER any pushback or follow up question. Ever. Just a meek "ok" from the person asking the question. And the few that do ask more pointed questions...including a few that visit this board from time to time...lets just say they dont seem to hold "favored" status with PSE, at least as far as I can tell.
Contrast that to what you see here. You may not love Russo and Francesa, but this interview where MMD went after the Met's owner and GM was done on the Mets' flagship radio station at the time! Would you ever see this sort of pushback from any member of WNY sports media on a player, a coach or even an an owner? No way. Too many special dinners and golf outings to get invited to at for this sort of thing to happen!

Down here on Long Island, I got strangers seeing my flag and coming up to me while Im mowing the lawn and going "yo, whats up with your team?" I admit I call for this a lot...as lets just say I make it pretty clear to anyone who will listen (and many who wont) which football team I love. But....still.
And the catastrophes ALWAYS happen on national TV games. ALWAYS. Its so painful.
-
NOT wanting to fire the HC and burn the whole program to the ground right now is a "coward mentality?"
Have fun when a Rex Ryan or Chip Kelly type is the next HC here when your "big balls bravado" gets to pick the next HC.
-
The NY Giants are a complete dumpster fire and the HC is a huge reason why.
No. Just no.

So how are we feeling about Coach McDermott?
in The Stadium Wall
Posted
There have been FOUR head coaches in the modern NFL free agency era who have won more than one SB. Belichick, Reid, Shanahan and Coughlin. Im not counting Jimmy Johnson, as his two Cowboys teams were built prior to the introduction of NFL free agency. So youre setting the highest of high benchmarks for McD, which really is unfair.
Beyond that, there seems to be this pervasive thought in WNY that some sort of "perfect" coach is out there. Young, dynamic, and free of faults. We are looking for a unicorn here.
