  1. Ok sounds far fetched but what better way to cover Brandon/Whaley/Marrone's mess with the looming Alan Branch situation than to orchestrate some kind of mystery arrest. Since when is it Bills' policy to have the HC annouce something like this so coyly, without any official statement from Biills PR. Where did he even have time to get arrested in the first place? Didn't they just break camp this AM and leave to go to the game? Did he skip curfew last night and go for some "pops" at Shooter's, or maybe on theride back this morning stopped off on theThruway and get loaded or did maybe the New york State Troopers find some "potpurri" under his car seat? It just seems very bizarre. If you were the Bills' brass instead of cutting a guy you already paid a $3 Million bonus, why not concoct some crazy scheme where the player gets arrested and automatically suspended by the team/league for the season and you don't seem like morons to the new ownership. The player gets to live off his bonus is conditionally let back the next year to resume his playing career. As a bonus you don't loose him to the competition as if he was ouright cut. They say truth is stranger than fiction.
  2. Unfortunately he missed and when asked to comment Doug Marrone blamed it on poorly formed ice and bad officiating.
  3. Doug was soft spoken, sickingly sweet to the media selling the ususal soft shoe for explaining the problems, even funny cracking jokes about a bottle of water, clearly looking hard to show he has not completely lost it (or has he)? You neve know with Marrone :jeckle and hyde
  4. "We're so sorry Uncle Leodis We're so sorry if we caused you any pain We're so sorry Uncle Leodis But there's no one left at corner And I believe we're pretty lame We're so sorry but we haven't broken up a pass all day We're so sorry Uncle Leodis But if anything should happen we'll need you for the first game - All across the o-line (o-line) Gaps larger than the sky All across the o-line (o-lne) Gaps larger than the sky Admiral Cordy what you have to say? He had to pass the physical or he wouldn't get to play Kujo had another look and he melt like butter pie (Kujo looked like butter, so Pitt devoured Tuel like pie) Move a little be Kujo, get around(get around) Get your feet up off the ground Move a little, get around Move a little Kujo, get around(get around) Get your feet up off the ground Move a little, get around"
  5. I wonder what Andre would say?
  6. Agree the Polish Rifle deserves Lock Jaws and John Murphy is such a tool. Let's kiss Ron's rear because he has a HS stadium named in his dubious honor. Who the hell cares. He was way overrated as an NFL QB, give me Don Majkowski the "Magic Man' anyday, and as inept as a QB he is even more overrated an an "analyst". He is more well suiteed for being the maitre d at the Polish Villa II. As for Murphy is certainly no Van Miller and for that matter no Rick Azar, no Ed Kilgore, no Stan Barron, no Chris Brown (well maybe yes he is) an anonying mouthpiece for the Bills' brass.
  7. "Little Jimmy, Jimmy won't stay at home, The other team pushed Jimmy round, where Jimmy shouldn't go, Tried stoppin' everybody but, oh no Little Jimmy, Jimmy won't - stay home" How ":Sweet" it isn't....
  8. Yes I am talking Watkins, Woods and Williams. The 3 DubYa's that spell WINS!
  9. http://www.landgrantholyland.com/2014/5/12/5704092/2014-undrafted-free-agent-signings-kenny-guiton-buffalo-bills Move over Tuel, sorry Thad, take a seat EJ, we now have our QB of the future!
  10. http://www.buffaloru...pproval-ratings Our recently departed (or left for greener $$$$ pastures) Jarus Byrd was only a 23'%er when drafted, just think how this new draft crop might rise to the top!
  11. And yet "Those who fail to learn history are doomed to repeat it" ring a bell,Ad lib Ad infinitum Ad nauseam Alma mater Annuit coeptis Arma togae cedant Arma... ad nauseum
  12. Say kim jong un how is your uncle doing anyway? Not to get "off topic". Don't be afraid Promo to question your superiors they may hiding something from your pre programmed mind.
  13. After listening to Whaley at the post draft Presser, when asked if there were any plans to bring in another "jhand" at QB, there was no hestitation at all in his response, no! Not mayber or we will see, just an emphatic no. Followed by some half hearted rationale, "..if we brought anybody else in they would have to learn the system", we are confident in Lewis, Tuel was an undrafted rookie, Dennis Dixon has been around the block.. all of which makes you wonder why competition is best suited for any position but QB? And if they the braintrust (Whaley and Brandon etc. ) are really sincere about building the very best team bar none. If so why skirt the issue of having a solid backup QB . There has to be something beyond the surface, there can be no other reason. are they so afraid that a Kolb liek clone will slip in the shower or some other bizarre reason?atttempted. It is off limits to discussin, thatpart was made "perfectly clear" thank you mr. Presdient. There is no reasonable offered and obviously we can't expect any to come forth, we were told to "just forget about it", so says the Bills Mafia. It is amazing in this day and age wtih social media and all that those who cover the team for a living are so cowed or simply afraid to push the point that we all except that Whaley knows best. Does he really?
  14. I mean the Bills have had some successful backup QB's in the past and the starters seemed to be ok with it with the notable exception of Rob Johnson/Doug Flutie, http://xfinity.comca...-toptenbackupqb and over the course of their history dating back to the "Mad Bomber", Darryl Lamonica backing up Jack Kemp and if not for him chances are one AFL championship would not be in the record books, same geos for Frank Reich/Jim Kelly and who can possibly forget rookie of the year Dennis Shaw and backup turned starter Gary Marangi. Therefore for whatever reason it must be a Whaley thing. Could prove to turn out be his tragic flaw. What would have happened to Genesis after Peter Garbriel i not for Phil Collins? What about Cheers after Sandy Duncan if not for Kirstie Alley? What if after FDR there was no Harry S. Truman to take over? or all those fill ins on Baywatch post Pam Anderson? Here is to an injury free EJ season.
  15. Alright! Can you also cover AC?
  16. Where are the rest of the Bills alumni when it comes to standing up and being counted in terms of their support to keep the team in Buffalo? I must say I am a little disappointed as a fan since the Bills' AFL championship era, that we only seem to read or hear about the Super Bowl era players and perhaps Joe D. from the Electric Company days, what about the rest? This is a storried franschise, steeped in professional football since 1960. We are not talking about the Jags or Tampa or Carolina. Come on folks. How about all the Bills' living alumni sounding out for a real show of solidarity? If all Bills fans at TBD could email just one or two of our alumni and ask them to shout their support that would speak volumes. If your name is on this list and we haven't heard from you let your voice be heard, Let's start a chain letter and make it clear that Buffalo is special and we have supported our players for over 50 years and now we need their support: once a Bill always a Bill: http://www.sportingc...ll-time-roster/ Dear Elbert, Dear Booker, Dear Butch, Dear Eddie, Dear Max, Dear Preston, Dear Walt, Dear Fred, Dear Shane, Dear Roland, Dear Dennis, Dear Pete, Dear Ray, Dear House, Dear JP, .....
  17. "We were negotiating an extension, and we took a little risk, send lawyers, guns, and money, 'Gov' get me out of this..."
  18. The more intriguing question may be, why would the Bills intentionally create. or even fail to deny, thereby perpetuating a false rumor for possibly trading up in the draft, especially if they were not seriously inclined to do so? Answer= if by doing so you could entice a team to otherwise trade out or more likely trade up, to allow the Billls to draft someone they really coveted to fall to where they are, than they succeeded. Seriously think about it. The Bills are not going to move up, that is about as likely as winning the Mega Millions despite what some may salivate at thinking the Bills are going for it all there is jsut one guaranteed superstar, etc.. I could just imagine the next Bills owner, say Donald trump, calling in the current regime and his first comment is "you traded our future for what... you're FIRED. Now get out of here!" He may even sue them for lack of due diligence. Note he sued a former Miss America contestant for claiming the contest is rigged. It was shocking to imagine it wasn't but he eventually prevailed. No it's not going to happen that is career suicide. Yet the smoke screen doesn't cost them anything and, potentially, it may cause another team ahead of them to potentially consider trading down and more likely a team drafting below the Bills, to up the ante, to trade up,which could potentially disrupt who is picked in what order down the line. At the 9th position you have nothing to loose to try. And as a bonus, "The Donald" might be impressed with this creativity and may even keep you around until the next round. It only can help when Sammy, "don't call me the candyman", Watkins is singing (ie. tweating) someone is going to move up to get me...keep it going Sammy, after all Doung Whaley says this is what the predraft "slipslide" is all about.
  19. Let's disregard the motive for a minute and simply consider the legality. What if Mary Wilson decides to sell the Bills, to say Jim Kelly for what her late husband paid to start the franchise, or alternatively deed it to the Erie County or the city of Buffalo for $1. Are any of these options even legal? I simply ask because it is unclear to me to extent what the NFL has legal jurisdication in a business transaction involving a private sale. Any experts care to weigh in?
  20. The Bills' Braintrust was interested in him when he was cut loose from TB. He has already established chemistry with our new WR Mike Williams. The Bills are not going to draft anyone more capable as a backup in this year's draft and Thad Lewis would made a good #3. Sorry Tuel.
  21. i read a disturbing article in the Buffalo News, suggesting a comprimse scenario, that it would be a good idea to build a mohill instead of a mountain, to renvovate RWS and save a penny on the dollar, and I believe that it is precisely the same line of thinking that resulted in the Buffalo Braves leaving Buffalo and next likely the Bills. Fine have your Bisons and Bandits folks. If you want to be a second or third rate sports city then have at it. You must realize that there is no comprimise scenario, it is all in or nothing. This is the NFL people, it is a brand new stadium and luxury tax, seat licenses the whole works, everybody has to kick in and there is no in between. It means tax subsidies and better sell your soul for the NFL. Buffalo has been given a pass as long as Ralph is alive not a day after. If you don't want to play in the big leagues that is fine, there are many other places willing to forfiet their short termy and gamble their future just for a chance to play in the big league. It is now or never. What would you the tax payer rather have the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra, Hiistorical Museum, some park nobody ever heard of, or another land grant freebie, or an NFL team? We do have a choice. Make your voice heard, it is now or never!
  22. Nate Hackett wil lmostlikely not last his second season, despite the valiant efforts by Marrone to prop him up with adding Hostler, Downing and SU underling Rob Moore. Imagine the chaffing on his neck as the noose gets tighter and the calls for his head get louder. At least Danny Crossman is safe no special assistants waiting in the wings to "assist" him and "offload" his responsibilites . One wonders where Hackett feels in this new arrangement. Probably like Caeser, atu Douglas!
  23. So I was watching the Seahawks-49ers game at some tavern on the beach just north of Miami, and when I watched R. Wilson lead the charge for what proved to be the winning score, I turned to the stranger standing next to me and said, dammit, we could have had him!! And he looked at me square in the eye and said, "who could..."? I said my Bills and we could have Wilson and be here instead. He replied buddy you must be either high or delusional, maybe both, even Russell Wilson woulldn't make any difference with "your Bills", they have inferior coaching, marginal players, and a defacto owner. Just don't worry about it, nothing Wilson could have done would make any difference. And yet somehow deep inside, I didn't end up feeling any better.
  24. Come here Rex, come a great chance to show up your bro!
  25. After listening to Doug Marrone and company, at the Bills' official end of season, obligatory, "three stooges inspired" press conference, and then followed by his live appearance answering caller questions on the John Murphy show, I personally never recall hearng a more dejected, apologetic coach (at least in recent history, not Gailey, Jauron, Wiilliams and even the intellectually challenged Mike Mularkey, none of them seemed so obsequiously pathetic after their first campaign). For 2013, I would call it a dead heat between Marrone and the infamous embattled and latter day Billls fan, Toronto mayor, Rob Ford in terms of offering up seemingly heartfelt attonement for not living up to his constituents' expectations. Marrone, albeit grudgingly, "obviously" admitted his predicament, that in point of fact, he doesn't have a clue, and is a very distant third or fourth stringer in terms of NFL coaches, compared to Bill Belichick or even other HC rookie contemporaries like Chip Kelly. The Bills FO has been, and continues to be its own worst enemy. After al you can't "airbrush" or photoshop success in the NFL. Can you even imagine any other professional sports organization relying on the collective braintrust of Brandon, Whaley and Marrone? Not exactly the Mt. Rushmore of football genius. It would be like say, appointing the Kardashian sisters as Presidential cabinet members (my apologies to the Kardashians who have, unfortunately, proven to be much more commercially successful than the Billis of late). Okay let's instead just annoint E.J. as the undisputed starter for next season, to avoid even the possible odious scent of controversy or injecting any real competition. This despite the unfortunate string of "injuries" and at the very least his uncertain rookie campaign. Better not open up that can of worms! Whatever happened to accountability and evaluation? I guess those are all distant memories. Oh but wait Bills' fans, hope prevails, maybe we will get lucky and resign the fan favorite, yet apparently leg challenged, Brian Moorman, or even be able to negotiate an extension with our prized, but recenty out of work place kicker, and let's not forget our sentimemtal favorite safety, "little Jimmy" Leonard, who earned at least two more giant tire tracks on his already aging little back, courtesy of NE's third or is he their fourth string RB, I forgot? But take heart, just look at how Leonard fielded that third down surprise kick by the notorious quick kicker, Tom Brady. That was truly spectacular! Or pause to consider today's free agent resignings, of mostly unknown players that will peak our intertest, at least before the next round of cuts. All of this will of course certainly strike fear into NE and the rest of the NFL! I particularly was appalled listening to Marrone's interpretation of his approach to applying analytics, where he indicated that he will at times compare analytics to his own calls and try to see why they may not perfectly align. That is truly forward thinking ( or NOT). Let me offer a non analytical suggestion, If your special teams coach or your players can't stop a kickoff return, just kick the damn ball out of bounds that doesn't require any advanced logic, does it? Or why we can't pass on first down because of having a first year QB and the often confusing defensive looks, (ever hear of Russell Wilson?), or why we continually give up hundreds of uncontested rushing yards to relatvely unknown and otherwise pedestrian RB's. Could it be that we may simply not have the right personnel? What about hiring a QB coach or a tutor? How about a proven special teams coach or even someone semi competant? What about providing Darreus with an alarrm clock or wake up call for attending team meetings? Yet instead of addressing those obvious questions, we get the often regurgitated response, "I obviously need to to do a better job of (fill in the blank) and apologized to his players... for what exactly? Yet it was at the very least reassuring to hear Marrone say that he is provided the opportunity to offer his input to Whaley and company (e.g. the other former Pittsburgh FO rejects) when it comes to player evaluation, free agents and even the entry draft. That, in itself, speaks volumes as to the flawed mentality of the Bills FO.
