I don't understand why anyone would push for a balanced budget amendment. Wouldn't that make it unconstitutional to wage war if attacked while there was a deficit? Or unconstitutional to supply federal aid if there was a natural disaster. Sounds like nonsense to me.

My friends up there don't care what religion someone is. They live and let live, the way people should live! I have muslims neighbors and live around mormons as well. They are all as nice as can be and have no thoughts about restricting my rights, forcing me to convert, or making me pick up the bad habits that infest this country (eating bad or watching nonsense on TV)

I was listening to Bachmann speak a few months ago- never heard of her before that. She sounded like she had a good head on her shoulders, then made some irrelevant statement which mocked the name of China's president. That is undisciplined and you have to be disciplined to run a viable campaign.

Who would be replacing him, and who is behind that guy? You don't make decisions on what fans want- they are there only to buy tickets, merchandise and mindlessly clap their hands.

I see precious few moderates on either side. Personally, I think the right wants to take away our government subsidized healthcare, where the left wants to tax us, so we can;t afford it at that point. Too bad we can't be more like China.

I will admit, I am not very knowledgable about the bill. Unfortunately, our wonderful elected officials won't open state lines to competition, because the wealthy healthcare lobby knows how much that would take away from their bottom line. Its a shame Congress works for them, instead of us.

You might be right about the intentions, and if you are, its pretty sad that politics have come to that. to me, the solution is to make marriage an individual right, to any other living, consenting human being, instead of the right of a couple. Trying to make it the right of a couple opens up too many problems.

I know many very religious people who are more than happy to keep their religion to themselves and find it very satisfying. It is the people who want to be right about everything for everybody that are a problem. On point four, that is impossible- there is an amendment process for a reason.
