  1. I find that funny. Both sides want to keep stuff for themselves- I don't like that fact, but I am realistic enough to know that it is human nature, and my not liking it is irrelevant. Even when making record profits, businesses want that one penny more. Even when not working, the lower classes want money. There is no fix for this, although people will waste time and energy on the problem anyways. As far as Romney- I don't like him and don't trust him. But cherry picking his words to create a sound bite is a joke. Sad thing is that it's likely to work.
  2. If Mularkey can win in a town like Buffalo......
  3. So you want it for the marketplace then. I thought you said you wanted it for here. My bad.
  4. Yeah, his team's kicker wasn't too happy, either.
  5. Are you for restricting use of found fossil fuels to use in the US? Can that even be done?
  6. It was focussed on short passing, because we had no deep threat
  7. Manning has a much better line, better backs and was carried through the playoffs by the defense during the superbowl run. I would prefer Marino to Manning.
  8. What categories do you find Manning better in? Marino had less talent to work with, a shoddy line, no running back and a putrid defense.
  9. first. Look at that first sentence. Polian making that choice first elevated the Colts. He also added many other pieces that allowed Manning to be elite. Without a great line, James, Wayne, etc..... manning would not have become an all time great. Without getting a patient coach like Dungy and putting together thw defense that clicked in the championship run a few years ago (despite sub par play from manning) this would have been no Superbowl. Bill Polian was not the GM this year, his son who isn't very highly regarded was. Manning flourished because of the environment and talented group that was built. Dan Marino was at least as good, probably better.
  10. Guys like Ugoh were calculated risks to try to fill a need. Players who rates high in some aspects but carried risks. Not having a good left tackle to cover manning's blind side after Alex's retirement made that a worthwhile risk, but it didn't pan out. The selection still made sense. The draft is a crapshoot because not everyone pans out and teams have needs to fill, which could cause them to go with a lesser player than what is available. Polian built a team that was among the elite for a long time.
  11. calculated risks are never taken in the draft, because the exact player you need is always there. Same in free agency.
  12. No he doesn't. The GM sets draft priority, not a coach.
  13. Chan Gailey is coaching a different team against different opponents than Jauron did.
  14. I will guess that it is the team whose front office listens to the 9-to-5 humanoids instead of doing It's job.
  15. the GM usually hires the coach.
  16. Only if the front office is dumb enough to listen to those who know little. Fans shouldn't run anything.
  17. yes and no. The front office picks who is on the field, but they need margin for error. The Colts have been successful over time and that reflects positively on Polian. He has been successful everywhere he has been and should be a first ballot hall of famer. Granted, his success has been predicated on the success of those he put in place. Similarly, those people's success has been built on his success.
  18. let me guess. Success can't be assigned to th gm but can be assigned to the qb and coach.....
  19. I can agree with a lot of that- if we can get a couple real wide receivers and move Johnson to the slot, we will really have the foundation for something. Add a left tackle, and there is something to get excited about
  20. Manning did not play exceptionally well in the postseason that year
  21. The defense won Indy that superbowl. Yes, having the second best team in the league six times counts for something. I would like to see film of Mr. Wilson dropping passes
