How is this thread 52 pages? Either they define themselves as being for/against something, or fade into oblivion. What is the big deal- protests happen. They evoke change. They disappear. this one has created a bunch of complainers about complainers......

Personally, I think the big "Tax the rich" uproar is a misunderstanding. If I am wrong, please tell me. My opinion, is that the rich should pay more in taxes- more in total dollars, not in percentage. Having them pay a higher percentage makes no sense to me. As far as fair share- I don't know what that means- who cares about fair. Life ain't fair. On another note, I laugh at all of the socialism taunts out there. President Obama isn't a socialist and even if he was, he wouldn't be able to push a socialist agenda. We see so much demonizing and demogauging (sp). Personally, I am for eliminating the primaries completely and letting all the candidates from both sides debate each other from the beginning, in front of an open crowd. Eliminate all the garbage and fake applause. Maybe it wouldn't be perfect, but it probably is better than pandering to the fringe

When the smoke clears, I am always on the winning side! lol Seriously, if the conservatives put down their red flag, the liberals put down their blue flag, and we all picked up the Red, White and Blue flag, maybe we could get something done. I don't care if it is capitalism, socialism (well, maybe I care a bit), martianism, plutonium, whatever. It is time that We the people demand the finger pointing stop and be replaced by action. I am tired of blaming Presidents Bush and Obama for what WE are doing wrong. Personally, I want spending cuts and tax hikes (with the revenue going to pay the deficit). Cuts need to be made on BOTH entitlements and the military- we can't afford what we are spending on either. People won't want to tighten their belts, but it is better to tighten them not, than it will be later. Heck, all anybody on either "side" wants is for all the problems to go away- but we need to stop demonizing each other and reducing the other side to sound bites in a mad power grab. Playing politics won't fix problems, it only makes them worse.

Yes, everyone seems to forget- it is of the utmost importance that the government takes the money, so they can open the donut shop. The most important thing about this, is that since the conservatives dislike it, they will dub it socialism, whether it is or not. Pick a losing side, any losing side.

If they ran it before the debate, I think outrage would have trumped common sense. It was in the news, which sucks, in itself. They would be doing themselves and him a disservice by not bringing it up. And by starting with that, it wasn't hanging over the debate. It is a shame that the whole thing is going on. If it was an issue, ot wouldn't have come out now, ot would have been brought up a long time ago. The villain here, is his ex wife, not the media.
