  1. I don't want him chasing an official off the field. That isn't appropriate and to be honest, it's the second such incident for one of our players in the last few weeks
  2. In that case, the process is to file a grievance with the league, not for the player to confront the official in the tunnel
  3. If there is evidence of the ref saying anything, he should be held accountable. But that isn't the method for holding him accountable. It's just not how things work in the world, sorry....
  4. He claimed he didn't even remember going after the ref after the game. Someone like that is a problem. Whether he remembers or not, he's going to probably be suspended and I expect this to be a recurring theme (he's always been a hothead). Best to cut ties early with this kind of thing. And yes, on the field he is a very good player, so no hate, just being pragmatic
  5. Many of the penalties are due to a lack of talent on the offensive line. And that happened primarily because we lost two starting OLs after free agency/draft and had no viable options to replace them with at that point. Schmidt wasn't getting much hang time on his punts and that was a disaster waiting to happen. Add 2-3 starting OLs and I think our offense really takes shape. I'd like to see Clay and Hughes not on next year's roster, it would be nice to get something for them. I think they are bringing Allen along nicely- he has a Ben Rothlisburger type trait in that he has to be wrapped up to be brought down- and he's a bit elusive with good pocket awareness. I wasn't expecting that. Our offense showed a good sense of urgency and pace in the two-minute drill and I was pleased with that. McCoy has something left, but I don't care if they move on from him as he is on the downside. If Benjamin would come back at cost, I'd consider it- he's had bad hands this year, but has drawn some holdiing and pass interference penalties, so the potential is there. I like Zay Jones and Robert Foster
  6. I'll admit, he has far surpassed my expectations, but he's far from a superstar. Give the kid a break! He hasn't finished his first season yet. I want to see this group with a real offensive line
  7. For all the talk about the ejections, I think we were starting to slow Fornette down a bit as the third quarter wore on. Seemed to get good penetration and meet him in the backfield more often. He's a heck of a player though
  8. Personnel kind of warrants the approach
  9. They definitely showed a lot of trust in him with the game on the line, didn't they
  10. Worse than the double-reverse pass by Reed in overtime? Worse than the WR pass against Miami when Losman was on a roll?
  11. Funny that gets mentioned. I think he's really hamstrung by a too-conservative offense. If he gets released, I'd love to pick him up at-cost to be our #3 behind Allen and Barkley next year. If he doesn't turn into anything, no harm done. If he improves, then we have potential trade value in a bunch of young QB's
  12. I think you're reading into it too much. I don't see him going after Allen. He actually gave Allen a tempered compliment. And he isn't wrong! After all these years, fans are desperate for a franchise QB
  13. I would guess that's more about HIPPA than league rule
  14. I thought we showed a lot of energy out there today. Almost like a college team. It's just one game, but for not being here long, Barkley was impressive: accurate and knew where to go. He also knew when to eat the ball. I hope all four QB's can be brought into camp in the summer. Let them compete and whoever gets cut gets cut. If someone else worthwhile is available, then bring them in. I know the popular thing is to just cut Peterman, but what the fans want is irrelevant in that regard. At his pricetag, he should be here until he gets pushed off the roster (which Anderson and Barkley could end up doing). The receivers looked good, the RB's looked good and the rookie guard looked good.
  15. You can't stop Barkley. You can only hope to contain him
  16. It depends what the task is
  17. Barkley seems like a keeper so far
  18. I don't see us ending up with Bosa I hope you mean the trade to GET Watkins
  19. Forget this game. Rob Johnson isn't likely to get sacked this much again
  20. Must be nice playing behind a decent offensive line, instead of alongside and in front of a bad one, like Peterman and Allen
  21. A play I'll never forget is Deion Sanders camped out under a punt and looking downfield to see where he wanted to take it. When he tried to take his first step, he looked down and found Tasker had wrapped up his legs and he wasn't going anywhere. Not a moster hit, but he completely neutralized a hall of famer
  22. I may be in the minority here, but I've been extremely high on O'Leary at TE
  23. It just doesn't come down to one year and I think they are focusing on the right things. With the probably offensive line problems, it would be so easy to say they should acquire draft picks by moving McCoy, which would obviously cost them wins in the short term. You become a winning team by focusing on winning, which is why keeping McCoy is the obvious move. I'm not for the Allen move, but they saw something they liked. I'm very much for the McCarron move. I'm also for not panicking and cutting ties with Peterman after one season. He is talented.
