  1. I'd prefer that Reed becomes our #4, where he could become a threat, and that Parrish becomes nothing more than a return man
  2. Do you agree with the premise though- that people shouldn't interfere by voting for the candidate least likely to win. If everyone started doing that, it would turn the election process into a farce.
  3. I don't. I used to just to get a laugh, but hearing about it drives me up a wall. More respect should be given to the process than that- from both sides
  4. Rush Limbaugh claims to be a conservative, despite having no respect for the values this country was built on. What he is commanding his disciples to do goes against everything America stands for. It would be easy for each party to try to foul up the nomination process of the other, but there is a reason it is seldom done. This shows no concern for America or the system, and is not what the conservatives I know would do or would condone. If the win, it should be based on them winning, and same with if they lose. He is still into shortcuts, and I am sure he still is in other aspects of his life as well. Talk radio sucks, it hollows out the mind.
  5. I used to be completely against guns, but I figure that the bad guys will always illegally get around the laws and have guns. In an ideal world, nobody would have a use for one, but the world gets less ideal every day
  6. I have no problem with that view, its just not my own. I just see it as one team will win the superbowl each year. No other team will make it to the game four straight times. Our team is uniquely great
  7. Now this may be a bit of stating the obvious, but this hit me like a ton of bricks the other day. We went to four straight superbowls. That said- what it means is that minus just one season, we went to the superbowl for half a decade consecutively. That my friends, superbowl win or not, is a true sign of ABSOLUTE greatness. The four teams that beat us didn't do that. The Cowboys came close but fell short of reaching the game four straight times. Right or wrong, I wouldn't trade the four straight for a win, but thats just me. It will NEVER be done again.
  8. I remember not being able to run an extra play to spike the ball or something like that after JOhnson's shoe was puled off by a defender
  9. All very deserving!!!! Could I induct them after going off on one my late 1990's tirade about shuffling all our OL's to new positions?
  10. Rob Johnson wasn't a great QB and neither was Flutie- that being said, Johnson led us on a great two-minute drill to take the lead. Flutie's arm got worse and worse as that season wore on, becoming more and more inaccurate. I don't think we win that game regardless of who is under center. I wish we still had that defense though....it was awesome.....not to mention Eric Moulds!
  11. Us having Emmitt and them Thurman? I think things wouldn't have changed much at all. It wouldn't have made Jeff Wright suited to play NT in a 3-4 defense. He could have been great in a 4-3 as an under tackle, but that doesn't matter now. Aside form the First half of the final superbowl, our defense got pushed around by bigger offensive lines. Emmitt couldn't possibly been any better than Thurman in SB XXV, and he wouldn't have done much in the other three either. Both were great backs.
  12. I always liked the Odes to Kamil Loud......if we only kept Kamil, he might be our #2 WR now
  13. No matter how secure we try to make things, we can't make things perfect. Look at the Virginia Tech tragedy. Sure, you can up security, but is there really a way to stop that from happening? I think the answer is no, unless we have guys with guns standing at every corner of every street, then hope they stay on the right side. I am not sure if I really got my idea across, sometimes I'm not sure I really have an idea at all.....things are just so f'ed up. There are good people on both sides of our political divide, but I see the good people mattering less and less as the big names take over.
  14. And overreaching to fill a need is not insanity? You take the best players you can get and adjust your game plan around that. Otherwise you are perpetually mediocre. If a WR is the best talent there, you take it and let him develop. If Dorsey or Ellis is there, I say take him. Put either of them with Stroud, McCargo, Johnson and Williams and you have quite a group. With the decent group of DE's we have and the improving LB, we can approach dominance on defense if the secondary plays well. Pair that improved defense with our special team, and you are talking about winning much of the field position battlle, which would greatly help our offense, particularly our "rookie QB" Much is said about following the Giants blueprint- I really look more at Green Bay- they have terrible weather just like Buffalo and built up their defense. BUT, they really dug up a gem in Rian Grant- the undrafted RB. Remenber- its not how long have you been out of the playoff, its whether you are smart enough to devise a plan to get back there- and it won't happen overnight. And as far as the Bills saying that this is the big season for them......what else are they supposed to say? They want to sell tickets. They aren't a very good team that just missed they playoffs at 7-9, they are a below average team that overachieved- big difference
  15. So you'd rather have the setback in three years when we could have had a top rate WR instead of this season with a 2nd rate corner..................
  16. All this we have to get a WR who can produce now....NO WE DON'T. We don't HAVE to do anything. We don't have to make playoffs next year. We HAVE to keep building smart, and not rush things. If you can't deal with the team rebuilding from the Donahoe fiasco, thats just too bad. It takes time.
  17. No, I didn't. He replaced Triplett....leaving us a little bit ahead of where we were. Think he can be as good as Ellis or Dorsey? What happens if we take a second rate WR this year and to make up for that, we pass a top tier WR next year for a 2nd rate defensive lineman. Its not all about the now. You have to build, and get the best available player while you can, and scheme to cover weakneses and accentuate strengths
  18. Fixing the line helps the secondary. Stroud by himself doesn't fix the line
  19. Not that that means anything- I am sure that is not a relief for them, nor will it affect their future plans (I hope) Despite our desperate need for upgradeS at WR, they did not overspend on what may very well be a mediocre player. I hope they follow that in the draft- when you over reach for need, you lose. If Kelly and either Ellis or Dorsey is there, I hope we go with the DT. If you have enough playmakers on your team, it usually will compensate for deficiencies. Acting on desperation can be costly, and this front office earned my respect by holding back and being smart about that
  20. Not with our sad group of WR's a rookie QB, and RB's that can't pick up the blitz. It wouldn't be prudent. Roscoe Parrish should be on the field for special teams only unless there is an injury. The guy just doesn't run routes and is a QB killer
