  1. DB's aren't judged on interceptions. Thomas Smith rarely got an interception. I wish we had a CB as good as he was.
  2. Jim McNally doesn't call the plays or choose the blocking schemes. That is the offensive coordinator. As far as our current personel, we have one WR capable of playing the 1/2 role and we don't even have an adequate #3 WR ot top Tight end. We have a center who gives the opposition a physical mismatch to exploit and a right tackle who is decent but not physical enough. Not to mention a QB who is in his first year as a starter. If I am a DC against the Bills, I mix up a lot of coverages and blitz up the middle, shading to the right side most of the time. Stuff the run on early downs, and hammer Edwards on throwing downs. The Bills as they are currently constituted will not beat anyone by throwing on early downs- they are best off sticking with high percentage plays and managing downs and distances. If their draft picks turn out to be upgrades, this can definitely change, but that remains to be seen
  3. You are exactly right about #1 and #2, both need the ability to beat corners one-on-one, and handle double teams. Ginn was very overrated, and seldom ran routes in college. He coasted and got by on ability alone.
  4. Would anyone be crushed if we took OT Jake Long from Michigan? I don't think we would, but he would be a major improvement over Walker, particularly in the run game
  5. Did they come up with a super secret handshake? You can't have a secret club meeting without one of those
  6. Does anyone even remember Marlo Perry? Very good linebacker for us until he had his career taken away by this madman
  7. Glad to see Benji Olson is retiring. I still remember that dirty shot on Marlo Perry's knee in the playoff game that ended his career. Not very skilled, but very dirty
  8. Does this include the Fine Young Cannibals?
  9. Not really, we are just told that by ESPN.
  10. I like your line of thinking. I would rather make them beat me deep with Moss than short with Welker- give them the low percentage pass, and if they hit it, you just aren't going to beat them. Take the sure thing away.
  11. I AM saying that Reed should be a #4 WR! Where did I ever say he should be opposite Lee Evans- Go ahead and find where I said that. He is a reliable #4. As far as you knowing what personnel people think, that is nothing more than jibberish. With nothing around him, Evans still made plays for us. Chad Johnson struggled last year with a great supporting cast, and for most of the season he was outplayed by TJ Houshmanzedah Parrish more explosive than Welker? Please get me some of the stuff you are smoking. Wes Welker is one of the most precise route runners in the NFL. Parrish has the physical skill to run better routes and make better cuts than Welker, but he made no effort in college or the pros. Parrish has great value as a kick returner- which was clearly displayed when he was hurt and wasn't returning kicks. Our return game suffered. But he doesn't make adequate cuts and fakes to get open, and thats that.
  12. I would like to see divisional records determine divisional champions instead of overall record. As it stands now, you can get swept in your division and still finish 10-6. If division record determined this, rivalries would make a big comeback, as they barely exist now.
  13. Icing the kicker is calling a timeout before the kick, not having him kick it twice. It has no place in the game, and Shanahan should be suspended for starting that garbage
  14. Which group of coaches, I forget. We seem to change every couple of years
  15. He's a disruptor, very good at penetrating. He is big enough to play in a 3-4 if needed
  16. I am sure you spoke in depth with the Pittsburgh coaching staff before the game...........
  17. A lot of it is because of a pair of Lasick (spelling?) surgeries and his speed. If we could get him on the second day, and all he turned out to be was a great slot WR, I'd still be happy. A WR corps of Evans Sweed/Hardy Bowman Reed Parrish Could be pretty good. I'd still look at some of the late round guys as well.
  18. I'd love to get Bowman and either Hardy or Sweed. Plus take another guy in the later rounds. I don't really see any guy at TE worthy of their projection in the first few rounds, so focus on #2 WR and slot WR's.
  19. Roscoe Parrish does not run routes. What part of that do you not understand. He didn't at Miami, he hasn't here. Roscoe Parrish is not better than Reed. Reed has made some clutch catches on third down because he runs routes. Josh Reed is not half as athletic as Parrish, but is a MUCH better pro player. Parrish is a good punt returner and has value doing that. Rob Johnson had tons of athletic talent too, and look how he turned out.
  20. I am sorry, I forgot that you and other fans have more insight into our players than our coaches, please forgive me. Yeah, Parrish could be unstoppable, thats why he plays so much. If Evans played on an NFL caliber team, he would be doing much better than he does in Buffalo
  21. Deion Sanders never ran routes, he rounded off his breaks, thats why Aikman seldom thre to him, and why he got intercepted when he did. Yes, there is a reason he isn't used. He should remain a punt returner because he doesn't have a clue how to be a WR.
  22. If somehow Ellis is there, I don't even consider trading.
  23. I think Dorsey and Ellis will be the top two picks overall. Its getting harder and harder to find good DTs. I have the best WR's as Hardy and Sweed- I'd love to trade down and get one of them and Kentwan Balmer. If a trade down could net us another 3rd or 4th rounder we could add a center
  24. I've seen movie where stuff like that happens!
