  1. Interesting points by both. I do agree with Nice Swing though- individual players do not compete in vacuums. Champ Bailey may be the best CB of this generation, but I think I might be able to play on Denver's defensive line right now
  2. DOn't have tunnel vision...its not just about this year
  3. Yeah really. Like there weren't 100's of better players available when we took Roscoe. Man, he's been a great punt returner, hasn't he. Maybe we can take a long snapper in the first round this year
  4. Reaching at any position is stupid. Stockpile good players and build around what you end up with
  5. We are hurting and need to realize that we overachieved last season. Neither the offensive or defensive line is close to being set. The 1990's are so far removed that there are people who think that the OL is now a strength. Even with Stroud, our DL isn't nearly good enough. Our WR's and TE's aren't up to snuff- I can agree with that. Special teams are important, but without offense and defense it won't get you too far.
  6. So we are better off with a scrub who knows he can't play than a solid backup who can. I have to disagree- in that case you may as well not even have a backup. If Edwards is that sensitive, get rid of him now, he can suck it up or leave
  7. But if we replace him with another veteran backup, won't he still be looking over his shoulder? If he can't handle that, what kind of player is he, anyways?
  8. Where do I even start. You always need more/better CBs. Getting rid of JP won't be addition by subtraction, you are as irrational as those who think JP is the next all-pro, neither he nor Edwards "deserves" to start. Draft the highest rated center and start him? I don't see one in the draft that I think is better than Fowler. I don't see any high round TE's either. As an Ohio State fan I can't begin to tell you how overrated Gholston is. Sorry, the front office's job is to make the team better, not to make sure everyone on the roster is a fan favorite
  9. Everytime? Lossman has some deficiencies, you get no argument on that, but you have to admit, when the game is close in the fourth quarter, he keeps you on the edge of your seat.
  10. JP has been in the league 4 years and played parts of 3, Trent has been in the league 1 year. I don't have high expectations of either yet, nor do I think either is a waste. Its just way too early to tell.
  11. Hey- we already drafted a guy named Flowers, and he was a bust. We don't need another one!
  12. JP has had good and bad games, while Trent has been a bit under 50/50. Both are very young and have upside but are unknown quantities who stepped into a starting role too early in their careers
  13. I haven't seen him play or looked at size, but he sounds a bit like Mario Williams from Houston- who I like a lot!
  14. I lump the JP haters and JP lovers together- both are irrational. He is a solid young QB who has ways to go, but has shown something. Nothing more, nothing less.
  15. If I thought he was a blue chip prospect, I definitely would consider it, but I don't see any blue chip QB's in this draft- he simply may be the best QB in it.
  16. Kennison wouldn't have been Lofton? Try he wouldn't have been Don Beebe
  17. Johnson isn't close to being in Owens' league. Johnson will not be with any team other than the Bengals next season- the cap hit is more than he is worth as a player
  18. Chad Johnson is a perfect example of what Levy said- "Adversity exposes character." Things went bad, and look what he has turned into. As I said before, he is a lesser version of Lee Evans who played on a team with much more talent than the Bills. He has had TJ Houshmanzadah and Chris Henry, as well as a solid QB who is usually kept upright. Saying you want to be traded, but who is he to say he won't show up- maybe his invented Hall of Fame jacket has gone to his head- he is no hall of famer at all, not on his best day. I want him here just like I want Albert Haynesworth or Adam Jones
  19. I say Jason Peters- he is clearly one of the best in the league
  20. Not that I am for taking Harvey, but our defensively line doesn't magically become good with the addition of Stroud and Johnson. Johnson isn't a starter- and although he has been impressive, we aren't sure about McCargo. I'd rather have a dominant line than an ok line and somewhat upgraded WR's
  21. If they can't handle it, they never were leaders anyways. I have seen enough out of both to get excited regardless of who ends up starting.
  22. We should give Vince Ferragamo another shot at starting
  23. Lets forget the draft entirely- the mediocrre players we have are good enough
