  1. Romo has been a turnover machine. The Bills would have replaced him twice by now
  2. I remember blocking either a fieldgoal or a punt right before halftime. I was in the TV lounge of my dorm with about 3-4 Bills fans and a very annoyed Dulfin fan! Ah, I was working during the Broncos game that year. When we fell behind, someone shut the radio off. ABout two minutes later, somebody told us the Bills were in the lead.....amazing. My best memory of that Raiders game was when Nate Odomes took the ball away from Willie Gault and scored!
  3. The best businesses work the same way- they get a good leader with a strong vision that he can transfer to their employees. Typically, they have to delegate to lower level leaders. If they can't do anything with their vision or have a bad vision, they are replaced- but they have to be given time to get things working. Nothing gets turned around overnight- there is too much competition for that to happen
  4. I agree with you Sisyphean Bills. Just as our success bred success, our failure bred more failure. Instead of focusing on what it takes to build a great team- offensive and defensive lines, we started trading away draft picks like they were candy, trying to find another all-pro QB. As that failed, we traded more picks away. Then we start taking guys like Willis MaGahee and Roscoe Parrish with high picks, while our lines continue to collapse. We may not recover from this anytime soon, but we are headed in the right direction. Just as I feel firing Wade Phillips was a horrible mistake, I also feel firing Gregg Williams was a mistake- and I know that won't be popular here (not that I care). Williams made a lot of mistakes during his time with the Bills- but so does every young coach. I think he will be a head coach again and will be successful at some point. Mularkey was a complete disaster. So many want Jauron gone, but I think he has been our best coach since Levy. Of course, I don't have much of a sample to go by on that- two years is nothing in the NFL. Jauron has shown a lot of the qualities of a good leader- he motivates the player, he is very organized, he knows the game and knows his strength (delegation). Now I've seen people talk about NFL players don't need to be motivated, and that is a bunch of bunk. Even the top people in ANY profession need to be motivated and will lose their motivation when led by somebody who is incompetent. He is layed back and defers to his assistants- I can appreciate that. I was not a yeller and screamer when I coached, and my team went unbeaten in a league that was a fairly level playing field. And I will say this about Trent Edwards- I was NOT for throwing him in this early, but since he is the starter, I think he should not be in jeopardy of losing his job no matter how bad his stats are. I would take him out if necessary to stop him if he continually repeated the same mistake, but would put him back in as quickly as possible. I have been a big J.P. Losman fan, and I will say he was screwed here, and I don't buy in to the fanspeak that he has had his chance- he was a 4-5 year project when we drafted him, and TD and MM blew it when they put him in as the starter after he was active for a fraction of his first season. He is still green as a QB, and will have a good chance to succeed on a team with NFL caliber talent at mopre than just a few possessions. That said, I REALLY hope we don't blow it with Edwars- I think his ceiling is higher than Losman's: he has better decision making capacity and better accuracy a better ability to lead receivers. Hopefully Jauron will still be here when the rebuilding is over, and we won't start rebuilding yet another time.
  5. So scrapping a veteran who is the best guy available for a QB who was drafted as a project and missed his first season is a good idea. Firing Wade Phillips was a HUGE mistake, which snowballed. There is no end to this madness in sight.
  6. So the Giants winning the Superbowl validates all of Gilbride's ineptness? How many times did Killdrive's guys smash Tom Brady, and did they hold NE to to their lowest scoring output of the season? Bledsoe should not have been released. He should have started until JP's fourth year. Just the same, Edwards should not have been exposed to last year's failure of a team. The more things change, the more they will remain the same
  7. I hear you- the thing I hate is that when we fired Wade, we started over. When we traded for Bledsoe, we started over. When we fired Williams, we started over. When we scrapped Bledsoe, we started over. When we fired Mularkey, we started over. When we scrapped JP, we started over. Can we ever stop hoping and just stick with something? The Bills seem to have an attention span of about five minutes.
  8. I don't watch much of any of those channels, but from what I've seen, the most comparable to Fox from teh other side would be MSNBC. Olberman is an idiot of the Bill O'Reilly caliber
  9. I would say when our scrubs vacated their lanes in the Music City Miracle. It was just so sudden
  10. Sterling sharpe has no chance of getting in the hall of fame- His career just was too short. Same for Terrell Davis
  11. I just wish Shrub would tell us who will win the election- call Obama "The Messiah" all you want, but Shrub is the only president in US history who claims that God talks to him.
  12. We are closer to curing cancer than we are to being able to stop global warming. There is a limit to what we can and can't do.
  13. Hey- I'm just happy things are coming together. Next year we will be rid of Giambi. The combination of Chien Ming Wang and Jaba Chamberlain at the top of the rotation, combined with our bullpen gets me excited. I would be surprised if Brett Gardner doesn't get a lot of playing time- as excited as I am about Nady, I think BG is going to be a good one.
  14. In the near future, most of the team core will be developing and improving. Instead of whining and complaining about the mistakes, which inevitably will lead to losses, why not enjoy this stage of development. Watch Edwards, Lynch, Peters, Pozluzny, Evans and Hardy grow as players. Each step they take will bring us closer to the playoffs and eventually back to the superbowl. We should be on the edge of our seat right now every time the ball is in the air either on offense or defense and everytime Lynch breaks a tackle. In maybe 5-8 years, when the players are fully developed, we will start to take games that we should win for granted again, and only be excited for the big games. THis is the best stage of player develipment, IMHO. And I think we have a coach that is very suited for this stage as well.
  15. FIrst off, hatred of Shrub Bush isn't partisan. Both sides of the aisle despise him. He is the kryptonite to republicans, not Obama. Second, that talk that one side wants things to get bad is so old and outdated. A b bad economy benefits nobody except Bush, who has been pumping the money into oil...hey- who wrote those tax cuts? Here's a clue- the oil company's wrote their own tax cuts....oh wait, Bush has his own oil company, what a surprise! If you supoport Shrub, you are all alone on an island, and Gilligan won't come to save you. By the way, this has nothing to do with the previous moron who was president. Shrub thinks he can cover up his crimes with this so-called executive privilege. While I think the murder charges are a bit left wing mumbo jumbo, Shrub should have been removed years ago. He has passed Jiimmy Carter for ineptness, and I don't think that a four-year old could accomplish that. Shrub will go down as one of the all-time worst leaders ever
  16. I was reading about Abraham Lincoln selection people who ran against him and opposition to be in his candidate- it takes guts to do that and leadership to make it work! Shrub as none of either
  17. I don't care about stats....I laughed at people who thought there was any argument for Drew Bledsoe based on stats. Tasker changed a bunch of games during his career- many players who don't make the hall do that. He was a great player, and there is no debating that
  18. Don't ever put the words ethical and congress in the same sentence! No part of our govt is ethical!
  19. I hope it comes out at some point that he at least had good intentions with something. That would make his terms easy to remember 20 years down the road.
  20. I hear you- but if this can set the wheels in motion to give back the power that Elvis has stolen for himself, that is enough for me. This regime has done the country a great disservice over the last 7.5 years
  21. I think the LA Lakers will sign Favre
  22. I don't disagree with you, but I don't disagree with the proceedings either. It is a partisan action, unfortunately it shouldn't be partisan
  23. They are bringing up the illegal and unconstitutional expansion of executive power, the illegal and unconstitutional use of executive power to hide wrongdoings, blatant and outright deception as relates to war among other things.
