  1. Is it his fault that we had to spread the field on 3rd and 1, because we cant run in those situations
  2. It should be ended already anyways. If he asked for something unreasonable in any case, you say no...if you come out with a better understanding of what makes them tick, you are better off.
  3. I buy the concussion more than I buy the loss in confidence- concussions linger for quite some time. You just can't see him. He has been a successful athlete his whole life, he has confidence. He is just going through the same growing pains that all young QB's do. The main difference between him and Rothlisberger is that BR didn't play for a joke of a franchise
  4. How many games have we run effectively in? How can a defense respect it if you cant run
  5. If that could help, I'd be all for it. I don't know that it would though. I am all for him meeting with Iran (can't spell the guy's name). Meeting doesn't mean conceding ANYTHING! And as far as meeting giving them legitimacy, both Iran and Al Qaeda are ALREADY recognized by the world community. You don't need to meet with terrorists, nor do you need to battle them. You need to counter their propaganda. A little bit of research shows that terrorist leaders like Bin Laden and his "generals" are no threat at all- it is their followers that do all the suicide bombings. Bin Laden doesn't believe in the garbage that comes out of his mouth enough to give his life for it! Take away the followers and the threat is gone- fight them with military and the problem grows because you feed their propaganda machine
  6. Trent didn't lose the game by himself. The coaches are constantly gameplanning and playcalling around an unathletic line that cannot fire off the ball and get push- this is particularly evident on 3rd and short and 4th and short. Trent is going through the same growing pains that JP did last year- fortunately he isn't being jerked around, like JP was. Maybe he will work through this and become a great QB
  7. Is that so? Was Dwight Freeney available and I missed it? Did Gaines drop to us, and we took McKelvin instead- you only have access to what is available to you. Just because a player is available you don't just take them- they may be worse that what you have. You don't change on the whim of the fans, or you end up sitting with them. As far as another post about not benching the QB- I applaud that move- sometimes you have to allow a young QB to work through their problems. They didn't allow Losman that latitude, but apparently they have learned from past mistakes.
  8. QB's have always been brought back too soon after concussions- it is a travesty that Troy Aikman played against us in Superbowl XVIII...he still can't remember a lot of that game. While some of what is going on with Trent may be lingering effects, and some from a poor offensive line and lack of a running game, you have to look at the facts. He is playing a lot like JP did last year- missing wide open guys, not seeing open guys- he is a young QB. This was going to happen. The Bills can deal with it until he comes out of it, or they can make the same mistake they did with JP and pull the plug too soon.
  9. Most of the teams he coached here were terrible- the one decent team he had was when we had Centers, Reimersma, Price and Moulds- and a lot of that was let go at the end of the season. Much like a player, Williams needed time to develop- maybe it would have worked out, maybe not
  10. The plug was pulled on Williams too early- he made his share of mistakes, but was in the infancy of his head coaching career and needed more time to work through his mistakes. Jauron's main flaw is game day management. He provides a sense of organization and give the players confidence in that he will not surprise them with a weird call. I would love a Marty Schottenheimer or John Gruden, but that caliber coach is not coming to Buffalo for many reasons
  11. I would love to have Marty Schottenheimer, but a coach like him would never work for Wilson or come to Buffalo. Jauron is just about the best you are going to get. I just hope they don't start jerking Edwards around now that he is making the same mistakes Losman did. Ignore the fans- they will keep coming anyways- let the kid develop
  12. I think Walker played over his head last season- he is a guy you really want to like, he busts his butt and never does anything stupid. Problem is that he is very big and not very explosive. The taller you are, the tougher it is to explode out of your stance and get push. Center is absolutely horrible and is not fixable with what we have on our roster. Peters is still an all pro, but we won't see that from him this season- his holdout ruined his season and seriously damaged the whole line. Butler is promising but hurt. Add to that that we have nobody but Evans who is a threat to stretch the field, so defenses can creep up on us. Of there is a studd OL or DL there for us in any round we have to grab it then
  13. There wasn't much spearing in the days of leather helmets- fewer head injuries from what I understand as well. As previously stated though, it is all about merchandising. The NFL will do ANYTHING to make a quick buck
  14. Vince Lombardi couldn't win with this bunch. The offensive and defensive lines have been decaying for years. No lines, no good team. We are not good at WR. Lee Evans is a pretty good but not elite #1 WR. We don't have an adequate #2 WR. Reed is the best #3 WR on the team, and he's been out for weeks. Parrish is a solid 4th WR who can make a play now and then, which is what you expect out of that spot. Hardy is a rookie and is playing timid like a rookie. We have very little at TE. Aside from Stroud and Schobel, we have almost nothing viable on the D-line. Schobel has been out for weeks- while not elite, he is very good. For now, Stroud and a bunch of try hard guys is all we have. Now we have a good group of LB's and a good secondary, but that doesn't matter. Lynch is very good, but that doesn't matter. Given these deficiencies what would your game plan be? Mine would be to run onto the field, grab the ball and jump into the stands and run like heck! Every team in the division is significantly better than us along the line of scrimmage
  15. None of those guys would ever want to be in Buffalo. When are you going to get that. Jauron is far better than the other guys that made stops in Buffalo- its the franchise, owner and town thats the problem
  16. Almost everything you said it dead on- but wrongosaurus?
  17. Roscoe will give you a play every now and then on offense. He is a punt returner, and one of the best- he didn't impress me as a college WR, much less an NFL receiver. Welker? Please, I'd be happy if he could be half the WR Jericho Cotchery is for the Jets.
  18. Yes, and Roscoe Parrish is a Wes Welker waiting to happen (which is NOT related to what you said). Dick Jauron is a good coach- maybe not a good personnel guy, but the coach shouldn't be the personnel guy, and if he is, then that tells you all you need to know about the franchise. The Bills have gone through coaches and QB's like water since the end of Kelly/Levy and haven't really addressed the offensive or defensive lines. Sure, we had our share of guys like Craafts, Panos and Walker, but where are the guys that the Jets and Dolphins are getting? We aren't a coach away from being a playoff team- we are a new coach away from doing something different and sucking at doing it. The decline in our offensive line started the day that Polian was left go, and we made the Superbowl the following year. The we built up the defensive line and made a playoff run until that was blown up when Gregg Williams decided that the number one defense in the league didn't meet his standards. I think Williams has potential as a head coach, but never was allowed to learn from his mistakes in Buffalo. If you want Jauron gone, be careful what you wish for- you aren't getting an A+ coach to come to Buffalo- its a death knell for a coaches career and an economic pit. Dick Jauron is a good organizer and a good delegator. He is predictable- and while fans think that is bad, it doesn't make it so. It is good when the players know what to expect. The fact is when you always have to pass on 3rd or 4th and one because I can block better than the o-line, you have a major problem. When your owner fires a head coach and doesn't want to pay him, you have a problem. The Bills are the laughingstock of the league
  19. It is always nice, and much easier to blame the head coach. That justifies saying that you are good enough to win, making one change....simple and painless. Bad news- that isn't the case! Our offensive line stinks. Our defensive line stinks....and because of that, our team stinks. You don't scheme away bad lines and end up with anything better than mediocre. This team needs a massive overhaul. We haven't had Aaron Schobel for weeks, and he is our only football player listed as a DE- and he is getting older. We are also thin at DT. Brad Butler shows promis it guard, and Dockery it pretty good, but Folwler lives up to his name- he fowls everything up. He is terrible. Walker is adequate at best. This team was not put together well and can't win no matter who coaches or QB's it
  20. That is because they are better at 4 of 5 positions on the O-line than we are. And thats when we are at 100%
  21. Not really just a hunch- but you disagree with me, which is fine.
  22. Well, I guess its ok...if its the last time As I said before, I will take an athletic trainer's word over yours or Trent's
  23. We have scrubs playing center, right guard and right tackle right now. We have a midget punt returner playing Wr, a rookie playing WR and a horrible disappointment at TE that is losing playing time to first and second year guys. ESPN is beginning to talk about Trent's concussion (which I did weeks ago). We have one guy at DE who isn't a total scrub, and he hasn't been able to get on the field in weeks. Forget which QB you think we can win with- neither is going to win anything with the offensive and defensive lines we have. FACT: You lose at the line of scrimmage you probably lose the game, and you don't pull out enough wins to make playoffs. MY OPINION: If you play a young, stud QB with a concussion, you shouldn't be coaching in the NFL or anywhere else for that matter.
  24. Most of the republicans I know thing Limbaugh is a blowhard who does NOT speak for them. Limbaugh is a hateful POS Mercy is for the weak. We do not train to be merciful here
