Having a good team is the right way to go, IMHO

A Realistic Wish List for 2009
Adam replied to Glass To The Arson's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Personally, I stay stick with him for now, whether he is or not. Build up the offensive and defensive lines, then see what he can do. If he still doesn't get it done, replace him- with a QB that steps into a good situation- look what that did for Rothisberger in Pitt. -
A Realistic Wish List for 2009
Adam replied to Glass To The Arson's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I would put Kelsay, Denney, Schobel, Walker and Fred Jackson on the trading block and look to stockpile as many draft picks as I can to rebuilt the offensive and defensive lines. If we can sign Albert Haynesworth, great, if not, don't add big names just to add them...it kills the cap. Put a premium on defensive line, then offensive line in the draft as we need to take advantage of the horrible winter weather and defense is the route. Try to find a sam Gash type fullback. Offensive linemen should be the smaller quick type that can zone block and really turn Lynch loose -
Its been getting worse every year. There are exceptionally intelligent posters, but they tend to get drowned out by those who deal in absolutes and enjoy being angry (You people have no idea if I'm refering to you either). Rationality has given way to lunacy and I don't think it has much to do with the 5-1 start. I agree with the concept of internet anonymity reducing accountability. For those who are interested in this, The Lucifer Effect makes a very good reading- it goes in depth as to how anonymity and such things eliminate all accountability. A bit off topic here though

Trust me- I'm not known for overrating Parrish- he's just a better cutback guy. Both guys are what they are and bluntly, so is the team

Evans is a good receiver, but I think Reed is more reliable. I don't think he is multi-dimensional by any means and wouldn't be as good as Reed or Parrish in the slot. Evans has good straight line speed and runs decent routes, but he isn't an all pro by any means. I think we overpaid for him. If I was a defensive coordinator, he's not the player I'd worry about.

Enough with the "deferring" criticism

Its a safe bet we won't score on the first possession -
This can go on for hours. There is no right or wrong to it!

What did Obama know, and when did he know it?

He knew they were starting to get bad after the 3rd superbowl when they lost Polian and Wolford -
Is Lee Evans as good as Steve Smith? Who knows. We aren't as good as Carolina. Who knows what Smith would do if his QB was protected as poorly as ours have been over the years or if their running game was as bad. Did I mention that the Bills were bad? Just want to make sure I get that in there some where.

I've lost all respect for Vic Carruci

I have worked with journalists for years- they are assumed to have more credibility because their thoughts are printed...otherwise they are just like the rest of us.....some opinions are more convincing than others -
What was the down and distance of the punt? Would you rather kick a 55 yard field goal that may be into the wind or in a close game? We have one of the best punters in the league, and although our defense isn't that good, it is clearly better than the offense. I will take giving them them ball inside the 5 or 10 yard line over giving them the ball almost at midfield. Yes, no good QB's ever came from California......real smart. You would take Carson Palmer at QB in a second. While Dick Jauron is certainly no world beater, why yell at guys who you know aren't good enough. Its one thing to yell at Kent Hull, Jim Kelly and Bruce Smith when they aren't getting it done. But to scream at Langston Walker, Duke Preston and Ryan Denney- those aren't NFL caliber players and screaming won't make them good.

I think Wilson is interested in Rich Kotite, Buddy Ryan, Don Shula and Vince Lombardi

Maybe we can have a reality show with the winner getting to be head coach for a year -
What do you call a geometric shape with 11 corners.....a buffalobillagon

Evans and Lynch can be playmakers. Reed is a reliable receiver, but far from a playmaker. Hardy is a rookie.....I expected little from him this year and got that in spades. JP will play out the rest of his career as the likely backup in Denver. The MAIN problem is that the owner acts too much like a fan and has a knee jerk reaction to everything...which is fine for a fan, but not somebody who runs a company or an NFL franchise. The on the field problem mainly stems from the fact that neither of our starting lines would cut it in Arena League 2 football.

LOL, I think your avatar should be the Bills' new logo...Glass Joe!

JP played as poorly yesterday as I've ever seen him play- still, the blame doesn't fall mainly on him. We were manhandled at the line of scrimmage- I think we can agree on that. You can win once in awhile when that happens, but we don't have the playmakers to do that. On his endzone interception, I was furious at Lee Evans on that one- sure, it goes on JP's stats, but Evand HAS to break that up. On Jauron, I'm past the point of caring. I think he's an ok coach, but that doesn't matter at this point....this team flat out lacks talent. Rich Kotite could be the coach for all I care right now. Langston Walker takes 10 minutes to get out of his stance....I'm surprised he can get off the field when the defense is out there. If they fire Jauron, they will bring in a retread who will come on the cheap....who cares. Wilson chased Polian, Butler and Donahoe out. Apparently even Levy didn't like working with him. For all the fire directed at Butler- look at his work in building a team from scratch in San Diego- Drew Brees, Phillip Rivers, Nate Kaeding, Ladanian Tomlinson............ -
They really don't. I know thats the sentiment of this generation that everybody owes you something, but the fact that the NFL can exist in a place like Buffalo, NY, absolutely amazes me. I communicate with Bills and Browns fans by choice and Arizona, Denver, Dallas and Houston fans by location. Bills fans claims to be the best fans in the league more than any of those groups and they whine more too. I am not saying to stop complaining, just stating a fact.
-
I am on a Browns email list and it gets nothing like this

People think I am overly critical of Parrish.....not so much. How much do you really expect out of a 4th WR? I think he is fine in that role, but may be pushed by Johnson. Nobody on the team can touch him on punt returns If Ralph doesn't do what we want, he doesn't love us anymore.....waaaaaaaaaaahhhhh. I'm bored, lets do something. Whats for lunch? Lets ride bikes. Either lose with Jauron or lose with somebody else.....I weep for you

I think Jim Mora Sr., would be an interesting prospect, assuming we could get him out of retirement. His teams tended to be very disciplined. They also overachieved- not to the extent that Schottenheimer's did, but they overachieved nonetheless

Lets sign Adam Jones and Michael Vick....oh wait, they don't get to play in many games

The intolerant bigotry of the liberal left
Adam replied to stuckincincy's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
To an extent, everyone is a hypocrite. People believe what is convenient at the time. Looking hard enough, I found instances where I have done that and I'm sure most of the people reading this have done the same
