  1. I don't buy into stats, and my eyes tell me the blocking is better than it has been, but not good enough. Not good enough to win in the east, not nearly good enough to win 10 games against NFL competition and get us to playoffs.
  2. It will be replaced by whining about something else.......
  3. Better than its been isn't good enough......our line is one of the worst in football. Walker has no power. I think we have a quality TE, but he is young. I am dissatisfied with the performance of every member of our OL- I will give Peters a pass, as he will be better with a full offseason. The others don't cut it. Our defensive line has been a joke since Bruce and Ted left. We can, however take a sprite to play WR....oops, excuse me, to return punts, in the second round I'd love to see us bring in Phil Savage after the Browns let him go.
  4. Goodluck in spelling Skooby correctly you mope. Whether he worked out or not, we don't get better by him leaving......go back to watching MTV and playing fantasy football......I'm sure you understand that better than real football Yuck it up about another first rounder departing, while school kids run around Walker and Preston like they aren't there, and our D-line gets put out of the way- real football fans notice the line play.....casual observers focus on the QB, WR's and the fluff....maybe you'd prefer the team to have clowns come out during the game and twist balloons into animal shapes
  5. No. We do not need linebackers. We need linemen- on both sides of the ball. Our offensive and defensive lines are not a player away- they are both putrid. They will NOT be fixed in one season- they are that laughable.
  6. Get Haynesworth and Saturday in free agency Round 1. George Selvie Round 2. Greg Hardy haven't gone much further than that in my draft research yet- that would make us 3 deep at DE with Selvie, Hardy and Schobel and 3 deep at DT with Stroud, Haynesworth and Johnson. WE still need help at RT and G. I like Fine at TE.....I don't see us fixing all the problems in one year- I see us as being on the bubble for playoffs again next year
  7. He is big, strong and very fundamentally sound. He seems to know his assignments well. He just doesn't have the power to explode out of his stance on a regular basis, giving him trouble against speed rushers- and at times against bull rushers early in the play. It also hurts as far as getting a good push in the running game. In short, he can't play up to his size. I agree, he is our 2nd best OL, but that is one of our problems
  8. No matter what you want to call it, we have to put offensive and defensive lines together. Neither line is close- and that is considering what we have at full strength. We have failed to put anything together at the line of scrimmage since Polian left- settling for scraps like Panos, Walker and many others. No lines, no playoffs
  9. Buffalo probably won't have a football team when Wilson is gone- and who knows, even if they do, it could be someone who meddles even more
  10. I am not the Jauron backer that you make me out to be.....I just don't follow the fan's typical group think that in getting rid of a coach you automatically get a better one. I don't really think coaching is our real problem- could better coaching have shut New England down the past few years? They whoop us at the line of srimmage, plain and simple. If we have somebody better llined up fine, but don't fire a coach just to conduct a search.....that is silly Absolutely- our busts on Kelsay, Denney, Williams and taking guys like Parrish instead of linemen have killed us over the years Those were bad teams we beat- QB play is dictated by how the line plays. Everything revolves around the line....not the fluff I can agree- although I think we can use Fred Jackson to move up in the draft or get an extra pick- but only if its worth it- he's a heck or a player
  11. Identity starts at the line of scrimmage- the coaches have been doing it with smoke and mirrors for more than a decade now, scheming around not having an offensive or defensive line. Schobel and Evans are both good players, neither is elite. When did we switch to a 3-4? I have a feeling that Jauron will be back....like it or not. If the lines are good, he will be too- if they aren't, he won't be any better than he's been for three years or Williams and Mularkey before him were
  12. OK, we are a mish mash of everything we can find. We pick up a QB and a coach here and there, a player here and there.......we have no unity of direction. We need a strong minded guy like a Bill Polian to come in and set the foundation- yes, I set it- THE FOUNDATION. We are starting over- we are not a mediocre team on the rise. We are a mediocre team that has reached its ceiling. This is as far as this group will take us. Sorry, I know you don't like it, but its the truth. All the negativity from Sullivan about how we underachieved doesn't make it true- he knows a lot less about football that I do, and less than most of people on this board do. We have people that want to do stuff to win now, we have people that want to let Edwards develop- you can't do both. Jauron has been coach and has had the final word on talent aquisition- you can't do both. Our WR corps hasn't been good since we lost Moulds- our best play has been a homerun ball to Evans- you don't win with low percentage plays. We want to run the cover two, but we have a front four that does nothing on either side of the ball. We prioritize the wrong positions- remember taking Whitner- who is a fantastic talent, but we left Ngata on the board. We need to make a decision on offense- is our line going to be a man blocking unit or zone blocking- of course, you need both, but what is the core strength going to be? The talent of the front line must be able to blend unless you want a mess. I say sign Jason Peters to a 10-year, backloaded cap friendly deal with a nice bonus- he could be the basis for an athletic zone blocking group. I think Butler is capable- and better than Dockery. Let Walker go- he is a slothe and struggles in both types of blocking. I favor the zone route, because I think it will make Lynch more decisive and force him to be a more north-south runner, allowing him to use his power to punish tacklers. I'd also like to see a fullback- we are a cold weather team, we should be hammering people. On the defensive line- whether or not we stick with the cover 2, we need to get better up front and this is the year to do it. Haynesworth is out there- I'd love to grab him. I'd also love to take D-linemen with our first two picks Oropko from Texas and Selvie from South Florida are different players but both have a lot of potential. I also like the DT (Jerry) and DE (Hardy) from Ole Miss- they were as tough up front as anybody. I really like our secondary- and I think Scott will be a starter next year. We have depth at DB and at LB- if our DL starts doing something, then you will see the third down stops from early in the season. Back to the original theme- a central leader has to flat out say what we are on offense, what we are on defense and how those philosophies fit together. They need to prioritize positions- and not just based on need- they need to then rank these rankings against our need and find how to fit them together to make us a better football team. This leader needs to sit down with Wilson and Jauron to find if the current coaching staff fits with his philosophies- and I think they will- Jauron has not had a team capable of winning the line of scrimmage against good opponents since arriving in Buffalo a few years ago. Without that, you become too dependent on big plays on both sides of the ball- you need to get 4 yards per play and allow less- that won't always happen, but the closer you get, the better you are. We find that leadership, and you will see Wilson's meddling stop and the winning start- once he sees true leadership, he won't need to meddle. Another point- we can't be satisfied with the guy who "is the best we have". Aaron Schobel is a great example- he is a nonstop player who sells out on every play for the team- he wants to win and he is willing to put himself through hell to do it. He is not Brice Smith- he isn't Michael Strahan....not even elite. You need players like him, you just need to depend on somebody better. Lee Evans is a good deep threat and he can run some short routes- he is not the five-tool player (using a baseball analogy) you build an offense around- I'd take an Andre Reed or Cris Carter any day of he week over him.
  13. At the time, it was pretty special- we were playing well and we took advantage of it- thats the key- win while you are playing well. Then you have to steal a game or two when you aren't. Personally, I hope we go nuts on the offensive and defensive lines this offseason- I would particularly focus on the D-line, as we can use our defense to take advantage of the horrible weather later in the season at home. If we can get Haynesworth in free agency, we can focus on DE's and OL's. AS far as OL's, we need to not focus on pilemovers- that won't work in our division- we don't want to single block the big NG's...if we can get agile guys who can zone blocks we can combo the big NGs. I wouldn't mind getting a couple of the DL's from Ole Miss either. For all the complaining about Poz, this is his first full season, he has been pretty tentative in coming back from the injury at times and doesn't have much in front of him- I give him a pass, for now.
  14. I feel bad for those who will listen to anything as long as it is negative.......Sullivan and Buffalo talk radio pander to the lowest common denominator- if you disagree, you are wrong.
  15. AS I said- he will do just fine as the backup after Denver signs him. Although I don't see him capable of starting anyplace other than Buffalo, NY
  16. You apparently know a lot more about movies than football- that was an excellent movie.
  17. Denver uses the athleticism of their QB's to get their WR's open. I think JP would do better in their system, with the talent level Denver has, and in a place the caliber of Denver......just walked outside w/a short sleeved shirt and jeans......B-E-A- Utiful day!
  18. Yes, the team that just upset Denver- this argument is laughable
  19. Have you seen how Ramsey has looked in Denver- I get a ton of their games down here. JP would be a massive upgrade for them- remember- he doesn't bring the rest of our team with him
  20. He is a massive upgrade over their current group of backups. My guess is that he will be a very good backup QB in that system with the talented players they have.
  21. Yeah, OK. He will end up in Denver the same week he is released.....he is already a topic of discussion down here. I am sure Shanahan doesn't have a clue what he is doing..........two rings?
  22. I don't think JP every recovered from when Rooties got torn down.......it was one of the few good things about Buffalo
  23. Maybe we can go there and help them pay for stadium parking after their owner builds that mall to take up some of the parking they already have.....maybe we can hire some crossing guards for them too......one of the worst owners in the league.
  24. I don't think too many Bills know much about playoffs.......................The franchise stunk before him and will stink after he is gone
  25. Yep....Miami and Atlanta did it in one year....Miami didn't take a few years to put that OL together and Atlanta didnt put one together either- along with a bunch of good WR which were concealed b Cick's poor play Keep telling yourself it was just one year- instead of bouncing back from a bad year
