  1. Hey- Hall of Fame voters have a right to their opinion......as everybody knows, the criteria is pretty subjective. I don't think Wilson, Davis or Kennedy deserve in. I would like to see Reed, Carter, Smith and Sharpe in. I am pulling for Reed and Carter to go in the same year- two of the most underrated, underappreciated WR's ever, IMHO
  2. Sure do- but that is overshadowed by what Davis has done in the past 20-30 years. He is the father of franchise relocation and meddling owners. Honestly, I wouldn't put any of them in the Hall- note what they did in the leaguee annals, but don't put them in the hall......The Hall of Fame is watered down enough- Cortez Kennedy a finalist? Please.
  3. Al Davis has done more damage to the game than anybody- no way.
  4. Tasker was the best special teamers ever, but not one of the best players ever. Name one owner that did anything that warrants the hall of fame.
  5. Whitlock is an idiot in the Colin Coward mold- wanting to simplify everything for the lowest common denominator of fans. The fact is that he had a really good defense that one postseason. It has been ok since, but not the same. No player in the NFL does it all himself- if one could, Cassell would not have been successful when Brady went down, because the Pats success would have been all Brady. You win by controlling the line of scrimmage on both sides of the ball- if the QB is good, you clean up the reat.
  6. Thats what happens when you keep changing things over and over again- there is no continuity and things get disjointed. This team has no semblence or order and is going nowhere fast
  7. You are 100% right about Dallas not being as talented as we are led to believe. Their offensive line isn't that good, they try to pacify their overhyped WR's by spreading the ball around too much and Owens has lost more than a step. Maybe they can get an impact player since they missed the playoffs.....oh wait, their GM traded their picks away- the Roy Williams trade is as bad as Minnesota's trade for Hershel Walker. Wade Phillips is fine- Jerry Jones needs to get out of the way!
  8. Can't do everything in one offseason- we are rebuilding nd it will take multiple offseasons
  9. I think he'd make a serious run at Albert Haynesworth. Then he would resign Jason Peters. At this point, he'd probably focus on the draft- primarily on the offensive and defensive line- Polian knows that this is where you build a football team. I could see him moving down a few spots and getting a couple extra second day picks, then taking George Selvie. Then, he would package our second round pick with a Fred Jackson or Terrence McGee or both and move up and maybe get Jerry or Hardy from Ole Miss. If we can't get a good center in the draft, I am sure he would take a look at Jeff Saturday. Our skill positions aren't all that bad- people expected James Hardy to come in and change things- rookie WR's seldom do that. He will learn to use his big frame and make plays in a season or so. Derek Fine will probably start at TE. In the slot, Reed and Johnson are pretty good and Parrish is a good #5 WR. With better blocking, Lynch will be very good. With beef up front, Mitchell and Poz will be better as will the DB's
  10. The first thing he would do is sign Jason Peters to along term deal
  11. I think you just said what I was trying to say
  12. We aren't close at all. Both lines stink. Bottom line- the lines need to be rebuilt.
  13. Its hard to tell.....most fans are so out of touch, they just want to pull the plug on everything without isolating what is wrong- did I say the fans are out of touch? Funny- they seem to throw that one at the owner. Difference is that I am right
  14. The philosophy of the best we have must be a good player is flawed. I would prefer to be in the Detroit Lions situation- it is much easier to clean house after going 0-16 than it is after finishing close to .500. THe fact is we have so many mediocre players and people think we are a team on the rise. We've gone as far as this group will take us- particularly offensive and defensive linemen
  15. With our offensive and defensive lines, I don't think our depth at RB is something we can afford (if we want to build something). Maybe Jackson can be packaged with either a 2nd or 3rd to move up into the first round and net additional picks so we can draft more linemen. I hate giving up a playmaker, but you don't get something without giving up something......he won't be here much longer anyways. Also, if we do this, I wouldn't mind drafting Bernard Scott to replace him- great runner, good hands...I think he will be a good player
  16. I would like strict gun control, but in the name of self defense, I do understand why it just can't work....the bad guys will always be able to get them regardless of laws.
  17. If he reverses the tax breaks and gives back to the middle class at the expense of the corporations, the economy will be stimulated. Once demand gets going, the tax breaks can be given back to the corporations, allowing for job stimulation. Giving the corporations breaks when there is no demand is pretty much putting it in the pockets of the CEO's and does nothing for the economy. Demand must be stimulated first. It is the right and left wingnuts that think doing the same thing works in any situation.
  18. Now you have some valid points here, but when you start with that title you are going to lose people's attention. I think the alternative energy sources can have a long term benefit, but will cost us in the short term. If it pans out, we can become energy independent if we still exist.
  19. I disagree with that- lots of teams win with bend-don't break defenses. Problem is that we break too often because of inadequate personnel. We won four straight AFC championships with that philosophy
  20. Our pass defense isn't that great and you want to blitz with guys like Ellison in coverage? If you can't generate a pass rush with your front four you can't do much of anything.
  21. Schobel can be good against the run or as a pass rusher, but struggles when attempting to do both. WHat we need is a bigger DE opposite him- a guy that can dominate. Then Schobel can just focus on pass rushing. Kevin Williams just doesn't cut it.....I am hoping a healthy John McCargo can do what we expected him to do this past season
