  1. I'll end my part in the discussion at this- none of us probably know what happened, nor what the procedures are. There is enough things we know of to criticize him on.....I can't wait until next Tuesday
  2. Its not fun to be leader. That said- if you are the leader, you deserve the criticism you get and you have to handle it better than he did on Tuesday.
  3. They should anticipate that terrorists might fly planes into the World Trade Centers that day? And that all flights would be suspended- determining when they can leave? Why not plan for a 100 foot tall bugbear too........ He deserves criticism for more things than I can name- but IMHO, he was waiting for the call to leave.
  4. They can't plan for everything- the situation has to be analyzed as to how it fits in to that exit plan. Not to mention that all flights were in the process of being suspended and they had to get t he information to fill him in. Until he was ready with all information, there is a vice president. He would have just been standing out in the hall if he left. This is the same argument as why doesn't the president take the battlefield when we go to war.
  5. Security obviously wasn't ready for him to leave- if they were, they would have come in and gotten him. He has bumbled his way through 8 years- there is enough to rip him on without going after him for things that he could do nothing about. If he left the classroom, he would have been standing out on the hall. You can replace 9/11 with the economy and Iraq with the whole "War on Terror"
  6. There are some things I will defend him on- the criticism he got from the wingnuts about sitting in the classroom on 9/11 was ludicrous. What was he supposed to do? Outrun security to NYC and hold the towers up like he was Atlas? I thought that was a situation that was handled ok.
  7. Joe Juruvicius was one of the biggest differences between the Browns of 2007 and 2008. Of course, they have a line, we don't.
  8. If the Yankees can do it, why not the government
  9. Ahhhhhh this is an unnecessary and uncalled for DIRECT attack on me. I demand that the government step in immediately and do something. I can't suggest what, but they should do something. My personal dignity has been impugned! Ahhhhhhh
  10. What makes you think you will get any real info from waterboarding.......personally, I would say anything to get it to stop......real or not....
  11. The only reason? Torture prolongs war- why would anyone surrender if it would only lead to torture. By extending war, you lose more people. You get absolutely nothing positive our of torture except for entertaining some sick people
  12. I agree- those people were idiots- being at ground zero is one of the few good things he's done in his 8 years. It would have been worth the security to have the President there
  13. How about we treat the like human beings. You capture people,, you interrogate them and treat them humanely. Torture has proven time and time again not to be an interrogation method. Our troops don't have a right to amuse themselves by degrading or torturing their captives, nor we they have a right to vengence. Vengence is not a reason for war, nor is it justice. Anyways, when we start waging war on the terrorist propaganda- that is when we really will be fighting terrorism, instead of just sending more people in to die and use these stupid, MEANINGLESS color grids to scare people.
  14. I hate the Cards more than I hate the fish or the squeelers. I hope its at least another 10 years before I have to see them in the playoffs again.
  15. A lot of the post Katrina relocations were slower than they should have been and a lot of other things went wrong. Thats water under the bridge right now- the fact is that he should have been apologetic in the press conference and shouldered the blame. It would be the right move for an outgoing president.
  16. Actually, I talked to someone down there- wasn't complaining about any of that. He just wanted to know why Bush didn't make an appearance like he did at Ground Zero. I think he has a good point. Everyone down there knew there was a very good chance the levee would break
  17. It would have been a difficult time for anyone in all fairness
  18. The funny thing is that people want to spend all this money on flashy WR's, TE's, LB's and DB's.....when the time comes to invest in linemen, they want to go on the cheap- pay Peters or you'll end up paying somebody else more...who probably isn't as good.
  19. It was a cheap shot- by Dungy did the right thing by publicly sticking with his guy- I know fans tend to like anarchy and controversy, but there is a reason that people like Tony Dungy are better than those type of people (not saying you are part of that crowd). That type of play is not typical of a Dungy coached team. Bottom line is that Dungy will be in enshrined in Canton in a few years
  20. I'd rather replace Walker with Gross and keep Peters......getting rid of one and bringing in the other is spinning your wheels. Now if we have Peters, Mack and Gross......now, you'd be on to something
  21. His press conference made me angry and pitiful of him at the same time- it truly showed the weakness that precluded him from being a good president. Sure, he is bitter about his legacy- but you smile, wave and move on- he didn't have the strength to do that- and its a shame he has to go out that way. His moves were paved with good intentions, but we know about good intentions. He talks about how good he has made the economy- look where we are. He claims to have inherited a recession when he took office- sure it wasn't as good as Clinton made it look to be, but we were in good shape. Unpredictable? We knew a disaster was coming- we should have been more prepared. Still, it was unpresidented so he gets a bit of a pass on that. We represent freedom to the world- no we don't. We represent a fractured bunch of self rightous losers. It would have been a tough eight years for anyone in the office of the President of the United States- the world climate is as bad as it can be right now- and that includes economically. I don't know if anyone could have done a really good job. He should have been advised to handle the press conference differently- his legacy is set in stone.
  22. I think we should decide the champion by using the electorial college
  23. Sign Haynesworth, moved down in the first to take Jerry (Ole Miss), move up in the 2nd to take Mack....now there is a start. Put Jerry at LE opposite Schobel and in the mix with Spencer Johnson at backup DT. If our scouts are especially good, we can find a starting guard/OT and another DE. Forget the WR's and LB's.....you can get the toys after you build the foundation up front
