  1. The fact is, until we suck up the fact that we have to sacrifice the now for the future- and rebuild our shoddy infrastructure, we will always be putting a band aid on a terminal disease. On energy, we have to move away from oil- we can't last forever on domestic oil supplies. they just aren't big enough. Our power grid is older than Yoda- it has to be rebuilt. Health care needs to be reformed one way or the other- I don't have the answer, but if I did, I'd be fairly wealthy by now. Fix these things and the US will be prosperous again- but not until they are fixed.
  2. You left out the also-emerging Michael Jenkins, a guy I was really hoping the Bills could have gotten. The Falcons had a decent line and group of WR's, but Vick was holding them back. Trent doesn't have that stuff- we are pretty good at WR, decent at RB, but on the line, we are terrible. This team has been built backwards. As far as JP, I expect him to succeed in the UFL, he is a great athlete and has a rocket arm- maybe the game will slow down for him, maybe it won't. He never got a fair shot in Buffalo, but not many people do- Edwards won't either
  3. No- there was/is very little talent for Buffalo's QB to work with.
  4. Looking at the offensive line- without comparing it to last years, it doesn't look capable of producing much at this level. I expect running backs and quarterbacks to get hit in the backfield and struggle to make plays. Defensively, I don't like our line much either. I expect a turnover ratio to be in the -5 to -10 range. Our skill players will be ok, but they need blocking to produce- we play in a very tough division. Miami and New England are the top two teams. New York doesn't have the flash we do at the RB and WR spots, but they are a lot grittier than we are along the line. Toughness wins games.
  5. Losing Greer is bigger than people want to believe......we don't know what the rookies are yet, and it elevates people into roles they otherwise wouldn't have held. We did not move forward on defense- therefore, I feel we have taken a step back- DT was a strong position in the draft and we should have taken somebody to place next to Stroud. You can only scheme around a bad DL so much...... Walker and Chambers aren't good enough at OT. With a full training camp, Peters will look much better this season.
  6. Hangartner may turn out to be a find- at the least, he will be better than Preston or Fowler, that is guaranteed- and that should help the interior of our OL. Wood and Levitre don't have the strength or power to fuel a running game, nor the mobility to consistently zone block. For all the support that Walker received here, he couldn't retain the starting LT spot over a Jason Peters that came back after missing camp and several games. Peters was thrust into the lime up, simply because he is a better player than Walker. Now, last year's third string OT is forced to play- weakening both the starting lineup and the bench. I don't want to hear about Demetrius Bell either......talk to me when he has done something. Defensively, Stroud is still our only DT......you need 4. Williams is a scrappy player, but not impressive at all. McCargo needs to show the promise that we thought he has a year ago. I was very displeased with the Maybin pick- I feel his is another overated Big-10 player, like Gholston was last year. Schobel at his best isn't a franchise-type DE, but isn't the reason we aren't good. Aside from Stroud, our DL is very blah. I think Owens adds quite a bit to our skill position area- he could open up the middle, which would allow the smaller Evans to go inside on routes more often without taking a pounding for it. Reed could benefit as well, with things being loosened up in the short, over-the-middle game. It falls on Edwards to get them the ball, and I don't have a ton of confidence in him- particularly since I think he will be hammered a lot. Overall, I think we have taken a step back on both sides of the ball and have a tougher schedule.
  7. I couldn't care less if it evens out- improving the overall health in the country is worth it- even if it costs more.
  8. Leach has not been made by his system- I am sure he can coach a less complicated pro system
  9. And as I said, they will have to take up smoking when they are done, because this country's VA won't take care of them unless they provide the VA with the information they already have.
  10. I am waiting for someone to chime in with that tired, ridiculous "Love it or Leave it" catch phrase that is given out to anyone who criticizes anything american
  11. Catholic teaching? I doubt everyone here is Catholic.......who's to say whether their teachings are right or wrong?
  12. Hahaha, people from Buffalo just don't understand coaching......must be something in the water. Stop eating Ted's Hot Dogs and it'll all be better.....just send 'em to me instead
  13. Who determines the standard for what a "righteous and holy life" is?
  14. Yeah, we really respect what they do. The VA speaks volumes about how much respect what they do for us gets them. Embarrassing.
  15. Still not good enough to be efficient against good teams. Walker will be a liability, I am wait and see about Hamgartner
  16. He has strength, but not a lot of power to explode out of his stance and get push....the guy is usually already in the backfield by then............
  17. Agreed. And if we can fix this issue, we fix a lot of things.
  18. Hangartner hasn't proved anything yet. We already know we are weak at tackle. If Hangartner plays well, we will be better than last year, but we need a lot more help.
