Without getting too technical, they all strive for the same thing and all have strength and weaknesses- the label capitalism doesn't make things all well and good, while socialism doesn't make things bad. The sports industry at all levels is pure socialism- does its success mean that socialism is good for everything? Absolutely not.
Every political and economic system will eventually break down because people are inherently bad. In socialism, things will become too bureaucratic, in capitalism, people in the private sector become too greedy.
There are many ways to properity, but ruin and depression are inevitable. What happened in Russia is an example of socialism/communism going bad and things like Bernie Madoff, Enron and its like are an example of capitalism gone bad. Neither is an aberration.
Bottom line, you are doomed no matter what route you go
