  1. I like Grimm and Fox. Another guy to consider is a former Buffalo Bill who is coaching one of the top QB's in the league- Frank Reich. He worked extensively with Jim Kelly while he was here, helping him with his reads each week- he always put in the hours and pulled off some amazing wins. His grit and hard work helped to lead two of the biggest comebacks in football history. Patience and intelligence like that could help bring along a young team.
  2. Trent Edwards has only been in the league a few years- and he probably won't be great- he's good enough to win with a strong line, a running game and a good group or WR's- focusing on a franchise WR in the slot who can catch about 10 passes/game. I am a fan of LeFevour, myself, but those are good QBs as well. Bradford may already be damaged goods
  3. Didn't take your medication today? Hope your fantasy football lineup is set
  4. He needs an offensive line that can protect him. Trent is good enough to win in this league, just like Losman was. Our offensive line has been a disgrace.
  5. Doesn't bother me. If he puts together a good scouting staff, he will do fine- the scouting staff does a lot of the work for the GM. The GM prioritizes. Give him a chance- he will succeed or fail on his own merits, and we don't know what t hose are yet.
  6. How would you like to be a politician in this country nowadays? How would you know what you are supposed to do, when all the constituents want something different. In that case, how is anything hypocritical and how is anything not?
  7. What the &$^&& do you have against Scott Berchtold? What the heck would you like him to do? If you have a problem with him, you aren't the sharpest knife in the drawer
  8. While I agree with you about tenure needing to go, it is a strong incentive for good people to get into the profession. Pay needs to go up, vacation time (for students) needs to go way down and curriculum needs to become much harder. The bell shaped curve needs to make a comeback as we NEED people to fail and be left behind. Not everyone should go to college- and not making it that far does not infer failure- as a matter of fact, in could infer success at a very high level for some Unfortunately, he may have been our last (hopefully not final) great president
  9. I agree with both of you- every once in awhile, somebody will slip through. I agree with Gene that those scanners should be used.
  10. I was saying that he really doesn't have much of a shot at greatness. Neither did either Bush, Clinton or Reagan. The country does't want it and won't allow it. The people of the United States just want to be partisan and have stuff to whine and complain about......ashame, really.
  11. Because it wouldn't have happened with McCain, Nader or Mike Huckabee. Sorry, but this is part of living in the real world, not fantasy land.
  12. He's President of the United States- the only opportunity for greatness there is trying to fix the trainwreck called an educational system
  13. When life begins is just speculation. If you believe it starts at conception, then its hard to argue with the "Pro Life" group. Both sides of that argument should feel for the Iranians that were slaughtered by an oppressive government.
  14. If he won't coach Carolina because of Resources, why would he even consider Buffalo?
  15. Put a good LT on the team and we are able to run the ball quite a bit better, which fixes a lot of things in our passing game and on defense.
  16. If the Iranian government is to be overthrown, it is the place of the Iranian people to do that, not ours. And if they do it, they should be able to implement any form of government they want, not one that is forced upon them. Unfortunately, people, innocent civilians die when things like this happen.
  17. Yes and Bush should have left the classroom immediately.....that's where I categorize this rubbish as well...........
  18. No- the other Byrd! I am blanking on his first name!
  19. Maybe we were all just created by god for his amusement.....and I am sure we provide plenty of that with our stupidity
  20. We actually have had very few- Bruce, Thurman, Reed, Kelly, Ted Washington, Tom Sestak, Cornelius Bennett, OJ Simpson, Cookie Gilchrist and Byrd. I know I am missing a few, but we haven't had many. And saying that Schobel isn't a difference maker isn't a slap at his career- he's been a fine player for us- I put him in the Eric Moulds category. Very good, but not close to being on the bubble for the hall of fame.
  21. Aaron Schobel is what he is- a very good football player, but in order for him to be a difference maker- and by that, I mean someone who opposiing teams scheme against, he needs to have a hall of fame type player opposite him. I would package him with a couple other players- maybe including Evans and/or Lynch with our top pick and try to move up to get Suh. Ndamukong Suh is a hall of fame caliber player that you can build around.
  22. Wrong. Jackson would be just as bad if he were here. We need to fix the offensive line and then guys who were good enough, like JP Losman and Trent Edwards won't get knocked into oblivion every week. Our offensive line is one of the worst in the history of the game
  23. The coaches have done it with smoke and mirrors. The OL, QB and defense from the line on back are complete jokes. Its all schemes, and when you have to be that, you won't win many games. All we do is randomly get players and throw them together without a plan. Fans scapegoat each coach and run them out- NONE of them have really been that bad. We need to hire a football czar, like Cleveland did- then we need him to find a good GM and they need a scouting staff. At that point, they need to find a new coach and everyone needs to get on the same page as far as what system will be run and what players fit that system. Maybin is a result of not having any of that- he is a bigger bust than Mike Williams was.
