  1. That is because we have let our offensive line go since 1993 and our defensive line since losing Ted Washington and Bruce Smith. Aaron Schobel hasn't been as productive as he could be, because we have treated him like Phil Hansen, when he is more like Jim Jeffcoat. I would like to see him moved to a third down road and tell him to go out there and hammer the QB- forget his run responsibilities. He has a talent, but we never have taken full advantage of it.
  2. How productive was Fred Jackson- I don't remember beating New England or winning a playoff game. It isn't Gailey or Nix's fault that the last 10 years have been how they were. Oh really? Was it the coaching staff's fault that the average Kyle Williams was our best defensive lineman or that our DE's aren't good enough? That our LB's are so bad that Ellison has started a bunch of games? IS it their fault that the offensive line can't block and that we are so bad at WR that a guy like Parrish can get playing time? Granted, we haven't had the best coaches in the word, but they haven't been terrible.
  3. Hurry up and finish Jerry Sullivan's column, so you don't miss whatever is on WGR 55. MIke Lombardi....never heard of him..... Please......Chan Gailey is a very disciplined an structured coach- and by the way, he has been brought in from the outside. With good players, he had a 10-6 season and went 8-8 with the big three in decline in Dallas- the plug was pulled on him prematurely. When Levy resigned, this is the guy I wanted to bring in- he took Cowher to the Superbowl in a year that the team had to reverse its offensive direction and put the offense in the hands of a guy the caliber of Mike Tomczak. I have a feeling we will try to get Okung and LeFevour. If Lynch is back next year, look for him to get quite a few more carries than Jackson, as he is more suited to the power style that Gailey likes in his running game.
  4. Pretty close- both lines have been deteriorating since Polian left
  5. And what would Norv Turner do with the worst roster in football?
  6. I remember Wilson was called senile by that Idiot show on ESPN radio for complaining about the current CBA. It was by Mike Golic, the man that lives in a toilet
  7. I am trying to find who his assistants were in Dallas, but not finding anything
  8. Cause he has so many postseason sacks.........here's a quarter, go call someone who cares.......
  9. He was promoted from WR coach during the season........ For a fan base that clings desperately to Schobel and Kyle Williams, I have to laugh at the reaction
  10. When he got Cowher to the Superbowl in 1995, he installed a spread passing attack midway through the season, with Mike Tomszak as quarterback.
  11. It won't bother me in the least if we hire Chan Gailey. I think he did a good job in Pittsburgh as an offensive coordinator, when he had to switch offensive philosophies mid-season from running to passing, and took the Steelers to the Superbowl in 1995. He also did fairly well in his stint with Dallas. As with all of the recent coaches we have had, he will do as well as the talent level allows. Yess, the past few coaches were short circuited by lack of talent on the team, despite what the homer fans wish to believe.
  12. Just as they were offended by the previous administration......
  13. There is no rush- as of now, we have the only opening. Why should we rush, as nobody will snap up a guy we want.
  14. We should throw in Mark Kelso and Leonard Smith!
  15. Republicans win....democrats win.....republicans win....democrats win......Republicans win....democrats win.....republicans win....democrats win......Republicans win....democrats win.....republicans win....democrats win......Republicans win....democrats win.....republicans win....democrats win......Republicans win....democrats win.....republicans win....democrats win......Republicans win....democrats win.....republicans win....democrats win...... All the while, America loses
  16. Aside from the OBVIOUS need to help people that are suffering, I prefer that we get to as many Hatians before the terrorists do. This is a breeding ground for recruitment- but that is secondary, of course
  17. And where did that get us?He is a good player, but we need two guys that are better and him in the rotation- or a decent draft pick. We are not a couple players away- we are rebuilding
  18. Too bad coaches don't view banging their head against the wall a great opportunity
  19. They will be good players, but trading Peters was the bonehead of the year move- and no, he isn't the best LT in the league, but would have been worth the money because he would have made us a better team and prevented us from needing to draft his replacement now- and that has been the woe of our team at every position, except the DL, where we pay backups pro bowl money on a regular basis. See if you can find a team that gets its QB's knocked around like we have. I don't think we should start Brohm or a rookie next year- get a veteran to take the abuse while the line develops
  20. JUST asked to manage the offense- like that is an easy job, particularly for a rookie. LMAO right back at you. The Jets are in the AFC championship because the backup part of the offense (passing game) didn't go COMPLETELY lame at the end of the season- Favre was just fine last year under hurting his shoulder. The QB is as much a part of getting them to the AFC championship as Doug Flutie was to us in the late 90's- it was the defense on both counts. Their coaching was just fine last year- if they got a couple breaks not of their own making, like they did this year, they were in the playoffs. Based on the team that Mangini left behind, they have the same strengths as they previously did- dominant OL, dominant running game and great defense with maybe the top CB in the game. Sanchez is no better than Trent Edwards was- he just has a supporting cast (notice I didn't say better) By the way, the current Jet's regime's move for Braylon Edwards was just plain brilliant......he has dropped a bunch of passes......
  21. I agree with you about Lynch's talent level- and that we shouldn't trade him for McNabb. He could be on the trading block if it will help bring a good OL or DL here. We should make every current player available in trade that will help bring in draft picks. This team is rotten from top to bottom and needs to be blown up
  22. Move Bell and Hangartner to the bench. Put Wood on the first team at Center and move Butler back to right guard. Pick up a free agent or two at OT and draft Okung if we don't move up to try to get Suh. Our line was terrible, one of the worst I have ever seen. The offensive line finished Jim Kelly's career, short circuited the possible development of Collins, Johnson, Losman and Edwards and made Flutie look worse than he was. It is embarrassing that we have let it go this long- as it has been deteriorating ever since Bill Polian left, despite looking ok for stretches.
  23. Yep and their former head coach led the Browns to their first four-game win streak since 1994. Mangini wasn't the problem. Their offensive line and Revis are both one year better
  24. We haven't had a great O line since losing Wil Wolford and we have run a number of good linemen out of town instead of using them as a building block.......And a number of the QBs we have had were good enough, but got knocked around too much
