  1. So now Bush was a strong leader and Obama isn't? Sorry, they are the same sorry leadership we have had for years. Everyone supported Bush about about two weeks, then we became the Divided States of America again. I do not point the finger at Bush like many on the left did- if the government does something wrong, then I believe the right way to look at it is to look at the whole government- the President is not some grand high exalted mystic ruler. There is a reason George Washington declined becoming King after we broke away from England.
  2. They are people looking for a cause and very vulnerable to falling for the terrorist schtick. I think we can do better than we have been doing- but that would actually take some effort. Fighting terrorism is different that fighting an actual war- the "Cut off the head and the snake dies" axiom doesn't work. You neuter them by cutting off what they add to their numbers with. How do you do that? Well, I really don't know, but you would think with all of the big minds we have in the military, FBI and CIA, they could come up with something effective. Committing attrocities against people you fight against doesn't solve the problem, it accelerates it. Democracy building is worthless. The government we constructed will be overthrown shortly after we leave and the replacement will probably be hostile to us for repressing them in the first place. We shouldn't have artificially removed the previous regime, but after that happened, we should have helped them set up whatever form of government they wanted, then left. Artificially removing a government creates a vacuum and that's a bad thing- even though Sadaam was one of the worst thugs in human history.
  3. While Schobel has shown great athleticism and probably could do it, I don't know what Maybin has showed that makes people think that taking his hand off the ground will fix his problems.
  4. No, they aren't. And while they are taking the time to recruit people to their cause, we are doing little to offer their potentials an alternative to becoming terrorists. The government under the Bush administration didn't and they aren't doing it under the Obama administration either. The reason is simple- it is a tough, complex task.
  5. So how has that been working? Have the terrorists gone away?
  6. I hope you don't lose sleep over my comments.....
  7. I know what you are getting at, but if you are fighting for something you believe in, or fighting against something you don't believe in, then stick by it. This is proof that there are no longer good guys and bad guys in the world. Moral absolutes make people feel all warm and fuzzy, but they don't exist.
  8. You can't claim to fight terror if you utilize torture methods. Torture isn't even a good interrogation technique- it isn't consistent enough to act upon the information. Not to mention that it is torture.
  9. "You don't stop evil by doing evil" If you want to fight terror, then fight terror for real.
  10. Personally, I don't even think we need to start our best 11 players- take our best players and put them in the best possible position to make plays. Then fill in the rest.
  11. You have to line up 11 people and there is no way around that. We might not get pressure. We might struggle with the run. A big problem is that you have to go with what you have, and nobody will feel sorry for you if it isn't good enough. Our line was smallish for the defense we have been playing- now they are really undersized. I can definitely see us trading up from our second round slot to get Terrence Cody, because he won't last until our second pick.
  12. Fear mongering is the American way. Forget the war on terror- the democrats and republicans are already tearing the country down, one brick at a time Its all about winning......while we all lose
  13. The better ones won't have much to worry about. Our defense is transitioning and won't be very good this year. Sure, they will have their moments and maybe even good games, but they won't be very good- and I'm ok with that. As long as we draft well, we will get better. Its not about winning right now. We won't win now, we will draft well. The team is not moving and won't be contracted. The building of a winner starts in April
  14. During the season that Cleveland won 10 games and missed the playoffs, I was continually saying that Anderson's lack of ability to read a defense would be their undoing. I called the loss to Cincinnati. A game where he continually made the wrong read. Anderson isn't nearly the QB that Trent Edwards was before the concussion, he probably isn't as good as Losman was either.
  15. Yeah, because Anthony Munoz and Joe Montana were there for the taking........
  16. They would be great, if Lee ran 1-yard slants
  17. To get Incognito to commit a penalty, all you have to do is ask.....
  18. Muhammed Massaqoi has been pretty good and Brian Robiskie is work in progress. The passing game actually improved when Braylon Edwards was released. The Browns closed strong once they took the ball away from the QBs and started pounding it on the ground with their young RB's. Quinn can't handle pressure and doesn't have much of an arm. Johnson took sacks, but was more dynamic of a player with his legs. I prefer the QB we got from Cleveland- Kelly Holcombe over either.
  19. No- I have been following both the Bills and Browns for over 20 years. Quinn is almost as depressing to watch as Rob Johnson was. How many Browns games have you watched?
