  1. Now, I realize I ain't the sharpest knife in the drawer, but if what you say is true, can't we just collect oil from those undersea seeps instead of digging?
  2. If they do that, they can go 0-16. Look at what happens in the field, not at the result- if play on the field improves, the result will eventually follow
  3. They should both be in jail for creating those storms with their Presidential magic fishbowl
  4. All you need to do is buy an NFL franchise then.......
  5. I agree- instead of taking Spiller, we should have reached for a LT, because that's how to build a team with second rate players
  6. I agree with you on a few of your points, but I feel that profiling will be a huge problem- and I think it will overwhelm the good intent of the law. When you open the door to potential discrimination and bigotry, people have shown that they will walk right in- it's human nature. This will lead to more violence. You can't deny them jobs either- if they will work cheap, they will get hired. Was Bush a wimp on it? Maybe, but he also was a realist- there are a lot of well intentioned theories that won't work in practice.
  7. MIA @ BUF W- Miami is not looking tough to me. Henne got off to a good start but isn't good BUF @ GB L - No chance at Lambeau. Green Bay will put up points BUF @ NE L - streak doesn't end here NYJ @ BUF L - their secondary will crush us JAC @ BUF L - Jacksonville will be better this year BUF @ BAL L - their defense will be tough BUF @ KC L - Winning at Arrowhead is tough and Chiefs have improved CHI @ BUF W - OK, CHicago will be bad, Cutler will throw 3-5 picks DET @ BUF L - Very much improved BUF @ CIN L - we aren't in their league yet PIT @ BUF L - they should demolish us BUF @ MIN L - ouch CLE @ BUF L - they own us BUF @ MIA W - falling apart NE @ BUF L - see above BUF @ NYJ L - see above
  8. I will tell you that he is a good player. I have seen him. I wouldn't lambast our front office for not taking him
  9. I am glad we didn't get Trent Williams. Just look at what is habit of taking plays off did for his QB at Oklahoma.....
  10. How much game film of him have you evaluated to make this statement? I am sure it is more than our coaching staff and front office have seen......
  11. Clausen isn't the bum that Quinn was coming out of Notre Dame, but he will be close. Kiper was wrong on him- period. The kid can't handle pressure. No, he is not better than Edwards, either. Edwards isn't the great QB he was hailed as when we opened two seasons ago, nor is he as bad as people want to believe him to be now. If he can get back to 100%, which he still doesn't seem to be, he will be ok. You can't develop a young QB without patience. You also need to protect him and give him weapons- like Spiller- not to mention a defense. And people can cherry-pick stats all they want- our defense hasn't stood up when we needed it to. No, Bell isn't the answer, but the guys there were good enough to replace him were gone when we picked and we didn't reach for a guy who wasn't very good- thats how you build a team. Good decisions- PLAIN AND SIMPLE
  12. I see a top 10 draft pick if not a top 5 pick. We are rebuilding, as we should be. The offensive line is hideously bad and we don't know what to expect at QB. The defense may be better. I am ecstatic about the Spiller pick
  13. I disagree about the Spiller pick- it is better to take a dynamic player than to reach for a need, unless the needed player is very close to the best available player on your board. All of the blue chip OL's were already gone and I don't know if I even consider Davis or Williams in that category- Williams' laziness is the reason Bradford got hurt in the first place. I am for creating a strength- so I am happy with focusing on the D-line and waiting on the O-line. We have upgraded just about every spot on the D-line and I think we can have at least an average defense this season- I do hope we look for upgrades next year, although we have to fix the worst OL in the league.
  14. I really think San Diego might have taken him- it appears he might have dropped, but is is a specialty player, who will appeal to teams running a 3-4. I think there is a very good chance that San Diego would have jumped in if he dropped much further- they are hurting in the middle right now. We had to have a guy like him or the defense would have been garbage. Hopefully we can work on the offensive line next offseason. Also, I wouldn't be so sure about Oakland- their pick of McClain was a major reach. He played behind a dominant line and never has been a big hitter
  15. I think we made some big steps towards rebuilding the defensive line and didn't try to do too much. The people who let WGR 55 think for them can whine all they want. Until they can think for themselves, they don't count.
  16. I have no doubt at all that he would. He wouldn't own an NFL franchise if the answer was no
  17. Actually, they are doing what they should have done years ago- starting over. And that will bring a high pick next year. Our defensive line is significantly better. We finally have an explosive playmaker on offense- I was horrified by the Lynch pick a couple years ago. More pieces will be put in place next year.
  18. I think Wang can become a good player, given time. His problems are mainly with technique. He is athletic as any of the OTs not taken in the upper first round and has decent footwork. Given 2-3 years, he should be a fine starter- and if not, he will be gone and replaced by someone else. This season is about weeding out the guys the new coaching staff doesn't want to keep, not about getting to the playoffs
  19. I think he would probably have to sit about three years to adjust, but I think he has as much potential to do that as any QB in the league. The only rookie QB I see making any kind of impact this season is Tebow- I see no reason that Denver can't do the same thing with the Florida offense that Miami has done with the wildcat.
  20. They won't get everything in one year and would be dumb to try to. That's the way it is. Accept is or don't.
  21. Trent Edwards not only is a better than Jimmy Clausen, he fits our offense by not hanging onto the ball. If we take a QB, it will be Snead or LeFevour
  22. What do you know about Troup, other than nothing? UCF had over 90 tackles for a loss of over 400 yards- Troup's ability to take on the constant double teams allowed them to do that. They forced 17 fumbles, recovering 15 of them and intercepted 12 passes because of what he did to free up other defenders. If we didn't take him, San Diego would have, as they have to replace Jamaal Williams. We don't want Clausen. He isn't very good and never will be. Campbell holds the ball and doesn't fit our new offense. We are taking steps in the right direction, because we are rebuilding from scratch. We probably have a top 10 or maybe a top five pick next year because of it, but that happens when you rebuild correctly. We aren't building around guys like Schobel and Lynch, we are building to win. Love it or leave it......
  23. We are not drafting to win this season, sorry, try again. We are rebuilding from the mess of the last few years. That's what it is. We are not looking to improve- we are starting over, which is the right thing to do. Personally, I think Spiller, Troup and Carrington will be starters his season. Troup is a specialty player and they may have thought another 3-4 team would grab him. He consistently took on double teams at Central Florida and handled them well. Given the state of our DE's I'd be surprised if Carrington doesn't start- talented but has room to improve. Spiller easily could be our best playmaker since Thomas and Reed (no, not Damon Thomas and Josh Reed)
