  1. Donahoe made some mistakes, but we would be better off today if we kept him. I like what we have seen of Nix so far, but I don't think he has inherited as much as TD has, and we won't be very good for at least 3 years. That said, I like what I have seen- we aren't rushing or reaching for things out of need
  2. There is a difference between political correctness and being amused at things tat are insulting to others. Political correctness is completely avoiding conflict entirely. At least in my definition of it.
  3. I don't see it as being tough, I see it as being tactless. I am not for being overboard on political correctness, but amusing oneself at another's expense is ridiculous. Remember the romans........
  4. He signed big-name veteran players who weren't leaders. When they signed Bruce, he had really declined and was in it just to set the record.
  5. Problem is that most people are dumb enough to continue to elect democrats and republicans, then complain when things don't change. The democrats and republicans have power now- they don't want things to change and are working together to ensure status quo remains
  6. Ah, the chips will all fall where they may. They always do. Spiller is a great building block and I think Troup will be as well. Carrington should be a starting quality DE at some point. We don't have to make the playoffs now or even post a winning record this season, despite the rantings of numerous desperate fans. We will supplement both the offensive and defensive lines next offseason and continue looking for a quarterback, unless one steps up this year. If Schobel retires, so be it- players come and players go, but you can't fret over it. If his absence makes a significant impact, we will draft higher and have an easier time finding a replacement. Can't keep players forever, or we would still have Kelly, Thurman, Bruce and Andre
  7. Why do they have to offend anyone? I will tell you- we have a very weak-minded society that gets their jollies out of being offensive.
  8. The problem with that is that the incoming politicians will become the incumbents and will do the same things their predecessors did for the same reason. Such is the way in America.......
  9. What they need to do is drop the veteran minimum a lot lower- it has really hurt the league by pushing the more experienced players out of the league. They also need to develop a rookie pay scale. I always hated incentive based contracts, because those are based on things that don't usually translate into wins.
  10. Unicorns are pretty important, but don't forget pegasus
  11. In all fairness, a mediocre season is pretty good for a rookie. Elite teams will be able to score on their defense, and I don't think they can answer....not this season, at least
  12. Jason Peters was a better football player than John Fina. Fina played on a better offensive line and had more help
  13. I think we have guys who have some upside, but are looking to hold down the fort for now. I don't see playmakers- at least for now. Nothing good comes easy or quickly. I do think Troup can turn into something, as can Carrington. We won't be even close to dominating defensively, but the groundwork has been layed- meaning that these players can do there job, allowing a playmaker to be freed up to make the big plays (When we find one). I expect some tough times and boring football for much of the upcoming season. That doesn't bother me, as I feel we have stopped with the smoke and mirrors and are actually rebuilding. Something we should have done years ago. That, more than anything makes me optimistic about the team's future
  14. Because they want us to take their offensive line and Bob Sanders too
  15. People are prematurely jumping on the Jets bandwagon. I don't know where their offense is coming from. Sanchez isn't a world beater and Woodhead might be their best RB- not saying he isn't going to be good, but he hasn't had too many carries yet.
  16. But we're the best country on earth. Shouldn't that be enough
  17. George W. Bush- Barry Switzer, only without the wins Bill Clinton- George Seiffert. Better than many think, but gets credit for things he didn't deserve to George HW Bush- Bobby Ross....No nonsense type Jimmy Carter- Rich Kotite.....no explanation needed Richard Nixon- Bill Parcells...Brilliant, but a cheater Abraham Lincoln- Bear Bryant. Again, no explanation needed. Possibly the best we've ever had. George Washington- George Halas....all time great Hope this doesn't turn into a mudslinging contest.....its supposed to be a break from that
  18. Yep, just like sales PROVE that New Kids on the Block are better than the Beattles
  19. I think McKelvin will develop into our top CB either this season or next
  20. Can't we extend a pipeline to the sun's core and just transport the heat and light energy a few light years, so we can use it?
  21. No, he is going to beat whoever we put at left tackle and hammer our quarterback. Like everyone else does
  22. I am fine with him retiring. It will speed up the rebuilding process. DOn't get me wrong, I do appreciate what he has done for the team. Fact remains though- players come and players go.
  23. Our front office has drastically changed since then
  24. Are the fans wasting their time here? Neither is Evans
  25. If the majority determined what was right, we would have a democracy, instead of a representative republic. I disagree with that when it came from the liberals and I disagree with it when it comes from the neocons. Passing something for the sake of passing it is never good.
